KingTom: Dem no wan gree say Monaco scam una. I nearly fell off my seat when I saw the words 'lone ranger' My brother ayam tired mehn. Bakayoko that was carried through out last season by Fabinho is a lone ranger? Dude who did literally nothing other than give away passes to the opposition players, foul opposition players and brainfart every now and then was a lone ranger? I understand. He was a lone ranger in stupidity. |

EvilMetahuman: oh! so we are comparing matic whole season with one bad game from bakayoko now? Do tell, did matic have great game in every single game in 2014/2015? Did bakayoko have great season playing as lone ranger at monaco or not? Him and fabinho playing behind attackers, just like matic and fabreagas playing behind attackers in 2014/2015
What happened after 2014/2015?
Fabreagas was in great form and it made matic looked super great and it reflected in our attack. Our attack went to shit when fabregas form dipped in 2015/2016. Young man what are you saying? Bakayoko a lone ranger at Monaco? Fabregas being in super form made Matic look great? I wished to continue with this debate but these lines made me give up. |

Loogan: whats the use of possession when you do not score goals, so because matic had more passes than Huddersfield midfielders means he had a better game?...I'm sure you were here last season criticizing matic and now all of a sudden matic is a God because he won games with Man U? You are the one talking about ratings without the slightest knowledge of how ratings work. Matic had little works to do yesterday cos his team were up against a team who only sat deep, absorbed pressure and hoofed the ball over the midfield for the attackers to chase. By no means should you expect Matic to get a high rating in such game. I respect no name. I gave Matic the sticks when he was fvcking up for us. Busquets gets the sticks when he fvcks up. A true fan knows when to lash out. By no means, does those fvck ups suggest that a technically inept Bakayoko is better than the serb. Only a footie neophyte would make such claim. |

Nihilist: You mean Matic that complete over 100 passes yesterday spent more time on the ball than both of Huddersfield midfielders - neither of whom made up to 25 passes.
Abi number of passes no longer means anyrhing? Here was your claim: Nihilist: My bad, it must be a coincidence that Huddersfield midfield were higher rated than Matic. I explained why this happened and you brought passes into the fray. So like I queried your fellow Bakayoko fanboy, what could have led to Huddersfield's midfielders rating higher than Matic despite Utd dominating the game for the most period of the game? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 11:59am On Oct 22, 2017 |
Loogan: Please save that bullocks, Huddersfield midfielders had a higher rating than matic but somehow you criticize Baka like matic would do any better. I can't believe you watched matic in three years in Chelsea and say we really miss him just because you want to downplay Baka? This is what happens when you follow Nihilist's graphics sheepishly without asking questions. Let's all act stupid and agree that Huddersfield's midfielders got rated higher because they out played manure's midfield, care to explain why utd still recorded 78% ball possession? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 11:42am On Oct 22, 2017 |
Nihilist: My bad, it must be a coincidence that Huddersfield midfield were higher rated than Matic. I am sure you understand how ratings work. A player who spends little time on the ball is most likely to rate lower than the player who was heavily involved in the action. Huddersfield's players were all involved in the defending carried out yesterday, thus they stand a higher chance of getting rated higher than Matic who had little work to do on his half. Stop deceiving your Bakayoko fanboys with graphics here, they deserve better football education Meanwhile, the good folks at Standard.co.uk has a message for you:

Nihilist: But Chelsea beat Watford while lone ranger was dominated by a Championship team. Sorry mate. Huddersfield didn't dominate manure. Defeat happened and it had nothing to do with Matic. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 11:21am On Oct 22, 2017 |
Loogan: Nawa for una ooh do you know how many more goal we would have consided if not for Baka in that midfield? He's far from the finished article but I can bet every penny, Matic would not do a better job defensively for Chelsea than Baka would. In case you don't know man united first choice was Baka, we managed to get him over them, some with kante. He's young and has wonderful potential, don't you think Chelsea at this point are thinking and planning for the future with having young quality players. I don't know about you but in my opinion Baka gives me a better defensive assurance than matic does, and he's 22 and one of the best in his position at that age, so chill don't drag your players down especially when they are obviously giving their best, this guy gives his all everytime, if you don't appreciate him I'm definitely sure conte and Chelsea players value him immensely. When did you start seeing Chelsea's games? No offence. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 11:19am On Oct 22, 2017 |
EvilMetahuman: truth is, both matic and bakayoko needs someone like kante to look good. Someone who does all the job while they do the holding.
Everyone was praising bakayoko before kante got injured. kante was doing most of the job and same goes for matic last year. Matic looks good when he is playing with the likes of pogba or fellaini.
On a good day, you cannot rely on either matic or bakayoko in that mid field alone. They both are on the same level. Not upgrade or downgrade.
But chelsea can still get something out of bakayoko but we already know what matic has to offer. Just don't take the emboldened lines outside Nairaland, lest you'll embarrass yourself. Matic needs no nigga to function. Right from his days at Benfica to his second calling at Chelsea, the Serb has always been a lone ranger in the midfield. 2014/15 season explains Matic better. He was the defensive shield in a midfield that carried the creative Fabregas, intercepting and breaking up opposition rhythm with that rangy style of his. Read that line again, he carried the creative Fabregas through out the season, a feat Bakayoko couldn't achieve against Cleverly and Doucore yesterday. A feat he couldn't achieve vs bottom placed Crystal Palace. Both players aren't on the same level, never! |
