diggz: I trust Luiz to be able to do a solid job however he is not kante, and I don't expect him to cover much ground like kante.
I was actually thinking luiz alongside fab and Yoko will make us more solid in midfield bcuz my issue is with fab pairing luiz alone.
Anyways, considering the fact that we are up against palace, we should be able to cope with Luiz and fab pairing. That would limit our offensive threat. 3-5-2 should ideally be left for teams with a strong midfield not the likes of Palace with a wasteman like Cabaye. We must go all out with a 3-4-3 and make life miserable for them. That's why I need Luiz to complement Fab in the middle. |

diggz: Luiz and fab? Well, the weekend is almost here, I believe in Don Conte... You can trust Luiz to serve as the defensive aegis of the team in the absence of Kante whilst Cesc gets to deliver the goodies. Bakayoko is too erratic to be solely entrusted with the defensive responsibilities, fvcking erratic! This is a nigga who always needed Fabinho around him to play. Give me Luiz in 4 I say. |

I hear say Chelsea read out the riot act to Musonda yesterday.
That's good. In as much as he deserves a shot at starting certain games, going to social media with such conviction is a NO No.
I am all for discipline.
Meanwhile, Morata seem to be back. The report reaching my desk has it that the Spanish medical team may have overreacted and that Alvaro's injury isn't really a grade 2 tear. He is being accessed by those competent fellas at Cobham and should hit the turf anytime soon.
Has anyone seen Drinkwater train? His case is looking like that of Nnamdi Kanu - no where to be found.
For the trip to Selhurst Park, here's my game changer:
Courtois
Azpilicueta <> Christensen <> Cahill (c)
Moses <> Luiz <> Fabregas <> Alonso
Pedro <> Batshuayi <> Hazard
If Palace no collect 4 with this setup, I go return my coaching license to Buhari. |

sinizia: So where were those "reasons" all through the Carling Cup, FA Cup and league games he couldn't MAKE OUR MATCH SQUAD before injuries wiped out our strike force? Mr Gaal might not have drawn a conclusion then. He alone knew when the time was right for Rashford, not us who are mere spectators. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 4:02pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
sinizia: Mate, there's no human with a working brain, even one with the strongest type of prejudice will say the emboldened. I never implied implicitly or explicitly the emboldened words.
What Rashford has achieved so far is not on luck, but his first chance, his first big break was on luck. I don't see why this an argument.
Rashford WASN'T EVEN OUR 4TH CHOICE STRIKER that season.
When coaches usually give chances to fringe or youth players, it always come in Carling Cup and pre-seasons, Rashford was not in the squad in both occasions. If he managed to make one or two of those squads, he didn't get a sniff at a playing time.
Rashford got his FIRST chance as a reserve player in Yorupa league. I don't think you understand the condition here. This wasn't a dead rubber match where we needed fringe players or reserves. This was a KNOCK-OUT match where our progression was at risk and an unknown RESERVE player was chosen ahead of 4 striker AHEAD OF HIM? C'mon Nihilist!!
You mean Rashford was so talented and good he BENCHED 4 FIT strikers to start such a game?
Without INJURIES and loan to our strikers, Rashford would never have started that match. I mean, he wasn't even brought in as would normally be done when giving a reserve a chance, he started the match.
If you think Rashford wasn't lucky that injuries affected our strike force, then let's forget it. We would never agree with each other. It can't be luck mate. The manager saw reasons to give him that starting berth. He wasn't under the influence of an enchantment, his decision was borne out of what he saw in the training ground. |

Schedule shouldn't determine if a young prospect should get the nod or not, it's the manager's conviction on the player's abilities.
If it's about fixtures, Rashford should not have been handed that rare start against Arsenal.
Many young prospects have all launched their careers with the big games.
This isn't about the fixtures abeg, this is about Conte believing Musonda. He is the manager and is in the better position to say if the Congolese is ready to dispatch Willie.
So make we just drop the talk abegi.
Wetin be Kante injury status? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 3:42pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
Nihilist: We've had a tough start to the league this year. There's not a single one our league fixtures so far where I would have even considered him starting.
He has had a chance against a mid table championship side and he scored. Good. Why not wait for your next chance before you start mouthing off? The likes of Batman, Drinkwater, Bakayoko and Zappacosta(Best 2 in the world) still dey hustle for shirt without public rants.
He's the one who prompted the whole comparison. If he's going to run his mouth, then we go gats ask am wetin he do with his talents like he lived in the new testament... I am not in support of him mouthing off on social media, that is wrong, this is Chelsea not Spurs or Everton who'd easily trade their chances of lifting a silverware with youth integration. That said, I think we have seen enough potentials and flashes of greatness from this boy which suggests he is a good player. What's wrong in giving him a chance ahead of a misfiring Willian? I wont be on this debate if Willie is still Willie but man seems to have lost it. |

I still dey wait to see the minutes Musonda has gotten this season.
I'll bet my balls that Charly hasn't spent up to 5 minutes in a league fixture this season.
The last time he got the nod to start a game for us, he found the net.
So which one be say, 'He has been giving opportunities yet he no shine'?

Nihilist: What is the 'current form' you im-becile?
Musonda has only started one game this season...against a midtable chamionship side.
And that's enough empirical evidence to constitute form?
Your stupidity seems genetic. I'm sure that were only fortunate as a spermatozoon to make it to the womb because the rest stopped to ask for directions. You were the best from a bad batch, but your utterances still show clearly that you were from a bad batch...

A40: Argentina have no excuse not to beat Ecuador. It must be pretty clear that no draw soup would save them this time
I would bet on an Argentina win. Adidas no go gree. Colombia might be the team to drop out I think Peru are well positioned to drop out. Argentina would have beaten them if they had a prolific forward leading their line earlier today but the team's chances of finding the net was pronounced dead when Dario Benedetto got the nod ahead of every other forward. Colombia would stage a good fight in their last game against the Peruvians, they were just unlucky to concede two late goals in the hands of a determined Paraguay, having dominating much of the game. Speaking of Paraguay, despite being placed 7th and 3pts adrift of the qualification spot, I really see these lot leapfrogging two to three teams to advance in these series. They face a poor and already ousted Venezuela in their last game at home and will enjoy the advantage over Chile, who travel to Brazil, Argentina who are poised to drop point in far away Ecuador and Colombia who trade tackles with Peru away from home. It's all set for Oscar Cardozo and his countrymen to advance, their famous win over Colombia away from home is just the first step. |
