2016, a new year, a fresh start but, alas, we've given most of the EPL a huge head start on us when it comes to finishing in a top four place.

We can mount a comeback starting this afternoon against an injury and suspension hit Palace.

Costa's return should be a massive boost for us. The Spaniard was sorely missed against manyoo and I believe his presence would unsettle the Palace CBs given he stays tactically disciplined.

A relegation, mid-table slog isn't our portion, so let's go burn down them boys from Selhurst Park.

KTBFFH!

For y'all clamouring for the integration of the youth, here's a piece of goodnews.

Players such as Charlie Wakefield, Kyle Scott, Kasey Palmer and Jay Dasilva put on orange bibs and were seen taking on the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Ramires, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kenedy in training on Wednesday.

It was a session of the boys against the men, something that is unheard of at Cobham.

You'll have to wait till this weekend to know if any of the lads made a breakthrough into the team cheesy

Bimffo:
We should forget about Pogba and go for Gundogan this January. He is not cup tied. And He is a top midfielder if he is Fit.

Reports are just getting to Us that Juve is preparing a £30 million bid for the midfielder. We can afford £40 million

And should Bamford cool come back to Chelsea this coming January or Just go to another team on loan.

Cc: Ibime, Airmark, Nihilist, Nateevs, FBS, Dhellake, Griffon, Mourinhilic, Chelseafan1, diggz, Raumdeuter, who again?

Your Opinion counts.
Get Gundogan today and I assure you we'll want him out tomorrow. He has lost what made him one of the best box-to-box midfielders.

Make no mistake about it what we really need is a decent central midfielder. The role of the CM is vital in controlling the game, so it’s essential that the person filling that position is of the right character.

Matic needs someone that can help split the midfield workload he's meant to carry. I would have easily gone for a box-to-box midfielder but NO, a natural DM is what our newly adopted sexy football needs. The defensive midfielder alongside Matic will drop back and act as a shield for the back four, breaking up plays before they become dangerous and patrolling the area in front of the back four. While they do this, the attacking midfielders will occupy a more advanced role and be responsible for every damage that'll be exerted on the final third. This means we can just gamble with any signing.

How much is Kante of Leicester or even Kouyate of Westham worth? I wouldn't mind having either of the two. These are niggas that understand their job on the field of play. I've made mention of Roma's Naingollan here.

Verratti, Witsel, Mccarthy, Krychowiak or whatever his name is are good options too. Biglia is another name but i'm scared he's almost 30. There are just too many good DMs out there but our dear Club is in love with Mikel and Ramires.

ESPN journalist speaking the absolute truth. . . some mates wey no sabi football cant see it. . . Emenalo, diaris God o!

Mourinho left a mess at Stamford Bridge but the former manager inherited a squad that lacked coherence. The transfer policy that has been conducted since his first departure in 2007 has a greater emphasis on talent than effectiveness. For Chelsea to regain true heavyweight status, the next permanent manager must convince Roman Abramovich to balance his desire for star names in blue shirts with the demands of collective performance.

The Russian owner's eagerness to create a team of entertainers suddenly seems like an anachronistic policy. A decade ago, the gap in financial resources between Chelsea and most of their rivals in the Premier League created a chasm in ability and as a result, the west London club could bully most clubs on and off the pitch. The recent television deals have levelled the fiscal playing field -- an influx of more talented players have transformed the so-called "lesser" sides in England's top flight and artistry is less of an advantage.

Chelsea have too much talent now and cramming it into one team is not working. There will always be days when the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Pedro and Cesc Fabregas will destroy an opponent but a lack of "water carriers" tends to betray a side, especially in a frantically-paced division.

Roman Abramovich has spent years buying superstars but the league's catching up, requiring a different approach.

Against this backdrop, winning the title last season is arguably Mourinho's greatest achievement. Nemanja Matic and Fabregas were the engine room of the midfield in 2014-15 but have misfired badly this season. Chelsea are routinely outmanned in the middle of the park. The Serbia midfielder is a little one-paced and one-dimensional. Opponents have worked out how to deal with him. Matic at least looks like he cares, though Fabregas has been one of the disappointments of the campaign.

Chelsea have spent years buying for the owner's imagination but the next manager will need to find a balance that's been lacking at the Bridge. The time of fantasy football is over.
Same thing I was saying days ago.

We've lost what made us Chelsea, we've lost our unapologetic ruthless efficiency - our identity.

I honestly don't know who we're trying to adopt their style of footie amongst Barcelona, Arsenal and Red Bull Salzburg.

Even if we must go tiki-taka the club should lay a strong foundation for such system to thrive. A strong foundation that includes a no-nonsense defence line, a cohesive central midfield unit and a pragmatic manager.

The likes of Hazard and Willian shouldn't have a sense of defensive duty enshrined in their thinking rather they should enjoy a sense of freedom. They should express themselves on the field knowing fully well that a strong midfield have got their back.

We're obviously going about this whole thing the wrong way. So I reiterate, this team must be fixed.

Bamford is back to the bridge!

I hope some mates can see the reason to slow their roll with all these youth integration and loan thingy. It's almost difficult to find a team that will assure your lad of healthy game time, very difficult.

This is the one reason why I'm happy for ninjas like Ake, and Christensen, ninjas who're fortunate enough to be featuring in the first team of their respective teams.

I'm sure he created one or two chances which were fluffed by his teammates.

You know Norway is doing something right when you hear that over two billion people have moved out of low human development levels in roughly 25 years.

You don't land such feat by giving room for corruption to thrive like we've seen in the past administrations in Nigeria neither do you land such feat by making a mess of virtually every sector in your nation.

We have bunch of mentally weak ninnies as players, that's our problem.

Against Watford it was Oscar blasting wide a PK, today it is Matic wasting a clear scoring chance. Funny enough you won't find these lot taking responsibilities for their incompetence, you'll rather see them shifting blames to the ephemeral entity called "bad luck".

We once had an identity and that was being ruthlessly efficient. All I see in this team are bunch of ninnies who wants to keep it pretty and who possesses a poor mental constitution.

A ninny like Oscar doesn't even have anyone in the team to push him to get better same with Matic, Costa, Pedro, Cesc, Ivanovic et al.

No matter how good you are as a manager, these current ninjas would enhance your chances of getting axed before Xmas.

We need to work on these team walahi.

.................

IMO Hiddink is managing the squad well. Dropping the out of form Cahill for Zouma today goes to show the man isn't even scared to make the big call. Pulling out Cesc for Mikel against Watford goes to show the man can identify a major problem - a weak midfield.

I hope the club provides him with the players he needs in January. The man knows his salt.

Chelsea lack of faith came in the summer when Jose told em the squad is not eqipped to compete, but theyd rather listen to Emenalo.

This fight with the board is what put Jose in a foul mood with everyone.

It would serve those bozos absolutely right if Jose lands at Manure and do what he does best.

If you tie yourself to incompetent bufoons like Emenalo who is known for snaking everyone at Chelsea from Ray Wilkins to Ancelotti to RDM to Jose, that is what you get for putting your future in the hands of an incompetent nincompoop

If Jose ends up at Manure and Pep at City, say goodbye to league trophy for 3 years.
You might be right but I believe Emaprince isn't looking at this angle as per his 'lack of faith' claim.

abeg, make we hear word!

If mourinho goes to manure, he'll have the opportunity to make chelsea regret sacking him. Chelsea should blame themselves for not keeping faith in their most successful manager.

Personally, i'll love to see mourinho in a top club again. I really dont care if he goes to manure. I'll always wish him success.
Bruh are you for real or are these actually bouts of irrationality and delusions? cheesy

The Chelsea board were faced with a very tough decision; either to jettison the crop of players leading a revolt against Mou or to sack Mou and keep the players. It was quite clear even to the blind n' deaf that it would be an anomaly to have half of the team placed on transfer list because of the manager, so what would the board do, sack Jose and employ a manager who doesn't have an issue with the players.

That's a more pragmatic substantial fix IMO.

Which other faith were the board supposed to keep? The wait for Jose to settle his differences with his lads have been on since August, isn't that enough grace and faith?

Hombre a cursory glance at the league table will help you understand better why the board decided to stop keeping the faith.

This isn't the time to suggest something whimsical or fantasize, this is the time to stay pragmatic and do what we have to do to save our already obliterated season.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 2:17pm On Dec 20, 2015
Hiddink has been given two objectives, the first being the obvious, getting some wins to ensure we climb the table, whilst the second is more long term with Guus charged with producing a blue-print to take the club forward on a more long-term basis.

Guus will address the squad at Cobham this week at the training ground.

I guess the emboldened would have a lot to do with a definite style of play and integration of some youth products.
