My neighbour and his family went for annual medical checks where they were subjected to x-ray and the wife was asked if she was pregnant and she replied No. Two weeks later, she went for a pregnancy test yesterday and the result is positive.


As I write my neibour friend and his wife are both confused and scared of the effect of the xray on the baby when born as he was told of possibly paralysis on the baby.

What does it mean you can't terminate the appointment with two years? Except there will be a blood covenant or some sorts of financial obligations to tie you down or you are being kept in accomodation where you would be escorted to work and to the accommodation else, there must be way to japa.

Same thing happened to us and I believe this is just applicable in ABK unlike Lagos(Ikoyi to be precise) where it's just for sight seeing.

I've submitted my documents at the abeokuta office, i made copies of the necessary form to fill and got a folder for my files as instructed by the officer.
The whole submission process took me just 30mins, but the surprising thing is my old passport was retained, i thought it was just for sight seeing which was meant to be given back to me afterwards but the officer said no when i asked for it (don't know if that's the new procedure).

Capture date: 22 Aug.

Nothing but if renewal, go with your original passport.

The next step is to gather all the required document as listed here or on their website and head to Abeokuta office to submit application. Note that capturing won't be possible on same date of submission as you are on DIY mode except miracle happens.

From my own experience, someone can't collect your passport for you, you need to be physically present 'cox there are somethings that need to be done yourself after collection

As for the 1st question, I did my renewal last year and i saw this number online and called it, I was asked to come for collection 09069000006. Someone posted up here that you can alternatively check their website for list of ready passport.

We went to Abeokuta in order to avoid NIN as it's mandatory in Lagos. So we didn't submit NIN for wife's.
Document for wife
1. Marriage Cert
2. Newspaper publication
3. Affidavit for name change
4. Application form
5. Payment slip(2 copies)
6. Passport photograph(2 copies)
7. Hand written letter
8. Data page of passport

Document for baby(fresh passport)
1. Application form
2. NPC as birth certificate
3. Payment slip(2)
4. Photograph(2)
5. Combined hand written consent letter
6. Father's PP data page
7. Mother's NIN

Note: Mother's NIN was submitted as it won't affect neither the mother nor the baby. They just need the number and the Mothers pasport has expired.

We finally went to Abeokuta yesterday for submission of my baby's fresh and wife's change of name due marriage. Though we live in Lagos but chose ABK for them cox my wife's NIN is having plenty of errors.

As directed here, we went straight to the front desk for DIY applications(no servicom there). We met a calm, friendly officer who asked us to see PCO for wife's as it involves change of name. He asked us to write a combined consent letter for baby's application and submit other document immediately. But he said baby's capturing date would be determined by wife's capturing date so as to use a stone to kill two birds.

So he directed us to room 20 where we met a lady who speaks like Americana and asked me to wait outside with baby and attended to my wife. She made some corrections on her hand written letter and asked her to make some photocopies and re write the letter. She then refered us to the front desk guy and asked him to check the computer and issue us available date for capturing. The guy checked and said July is filled up, available dates are in August. What can a righteous man do?? We chose a date in August and told us PP will be ready 6 weeks from capturing date. I noded in alignment as we are fine with these dates.

I was happy with the treatment we received maybe becox I dressed in full native attire looking like the Oba of Lagos lol. But I percieved them to be calm officers.

Collected the officer's number and promised myself to appreciate him with the money I'm no longer using when going for capturing.

I will advise you stamp your guarantors form even before getting to the immigration office in abk .
just so go straight into the immigration office on your left hand side is the help desk submit your credentials to anyone you find there and you'll be giving directions on what to do I next l vet my document and captured same day strictly DIY

Abeokuta is a nice place, I applied for renewal of passport last two weeks and was asked to come for capturing on 1st of July but when I went to submit my documents last week the man in servicom changed my capturing date bringing it forward. I was not asked for NIN even I didn't write any letter. The officers are very nice and accommodating and ready to help. Will be going for capturing on Tuesday. Hopefully the ppt comes out earlier than schedule
