Big time f**k up here...didn't know am to come with the old passport today again, thought sighting it yesterday was enough.

I'm done with capturing now but they said they must sight the passport before submitting my file for onward processing. I have called someone to bring it for me, I'm just here waiting and imagining how long the person would get here due to traffic.

The head of servicom has to sign and the servicom guy will text you to come over.

I am advising everyone to do it yourself. I was treated specially, I didn't join the long queue outside the gate, fter informing one of the officers that I paid online, I was asked to go inside when at exactly 8am cox I got there few minutes to 8am.

After the photocopy and application letter, I handed all the documents to an officer in the servicom office, the officer did all the 'waka-ing' from one office to the other, I just sat in the office pressing my phone. When he was done, he came out form the last office and walked up to me and said;

Oga, please you have to wait for an sms, that is the new way now cox of this pandemic.

I gladly nodded my had in alignment and left.

Meanwhile, I met someone outside the gate while we were outside waiting for official resumption time and I told him I'm doing it myself that I paid 25k online for 32pages and 70k for 62 pages, 10years. He start displaying covid 19 symptoms then I asked what the matter was, he said he paid 150k for 62 pages and he was there for the 3rd time, no headway yet.

Yes, enrollment is going on at Ikoyi office.

You don't have to wait for SMS before paying online, pay whenever you are ready.
But you do have to wait for SMS to go for capturing after you enroll.

I got a mail from Abraham Lincoln foundation(ALF) to attend their sponsored international language training. The outline of the course seems interesting but I am feeling some doubts.

Kindly share your experience if you have attended this training or any of their training or If you have heard about them please.

Have gone through "make it in Germany" potal, my university degree is recognized in Germany and given H+ status. I have also concluded plans to make my CV more robust with A2 language grade.

Does any one have idea how easy it is for those of us with Mechatronics/mechanical/electrical/industrial experience?

The diesel engines were of two types and the one in your car is the M47R which was an adaptation of the BMW M47D20.

The M47D20 on its own and in BMW applications was reliable. In the BMW, it was mounted longitudinally (like all BMWs)

However during modification by landrover, they made it transverse and changed the injection to common rail.

Common rail injection depends on very high pressures to injection the diesel. High pressures lead to heat... Now engine is transverse... Plus it has a turbocharger.


Your main concern would be overheating.

Always ensure your cooling system is in top condition and buy diesel from the filling stations with reputation like Mobil, forte, etc

If i were you however, I would ask the giver to sell the car, i would not mind adding 1000 euros of my own money and sending to get a different car like a Mercedes ML or a BMW X5.

Your shipping and clearing costs would be similar to those cars I mentioned and the value would have gone way higher.

If you look at the rear pix you posted, your trim is Td4 that means you have a BMW m47 2.0L diesel engine in that vehicle, I am not sure whether it's a 4x4 but if it is, then you have an advantage in the off-road segment and your fuel consumption would be great.

Your next line of action should be how to take care of a diesel engine, you can also research the M47 engine, it's likes and what to watch out for.

Buy it, you would enjoy every drive in it.

The freelander is a no go area for the petrol Engine be it 4cylinder or 6cylinder, the Rover k series engine are the most grossly engineered piece of crap.

The diesel case is different with the BMW manufactured engine or the Rover diesel, you are covered. The manual transmission would ensure the vehicle last you till you grow old.

I dropped this info because you have a diesel engine don't let anybody coerce you into ever switching to petrol Engine cause that would be the beginning of the end.
