nitigriti: So, out of curiosity, I logged into my Uber and Bolt driver accounts.
Ratings are still fresh ... 4.79 on Uber and 4.90 on Bolt. And they've not bounced me off the platforms after not driving for 11 months now.
#InsideLife Let me be using it prior to the time I get mine sef up. |

dru23: My brother work na wrk whether hard labour or mental labour.. The most important thing is to make the best out of it ... People that work in the oil rig na hard labour and very d's dangerous job .. The pay is good and it will tell on your body .. But again the smart ones will do it for few years save money and move on to better things ...Some will use that job as a steeping stone to move on bigger things.... Funny enough I was on YouTube watching Bloomberg business segment... And Aliko Dangote was been interview.. The interviewer ask how he was able to set up the refinery project.. He said he started with importation of cement and importation he wanted to set up cement factory ... So with the money from importation he was able to build his own cement factory.. And he said from there he was able to set up the refinery.. Everything is done by stage and plan. So if the Uber driver plans very well , he can save enough money and buy his own car . And before you know it he will save enough money buy more cars and employ people to drive for him .. There are many successful stories like that, take Chocharis for example no be menial job he was doing before he got to where he is today....
And at the early stage of Uber five years ago. There is an uber driver name Ogunvick and a guy called Romeo. Those guys started as drivers and before you know it they were managing cars for a lot partners they were going to the North buying Peugeot cars .. They manage cars for far back from the North. They will buy the cars from the North drive down to Lagos. They employed drivers manage them etc . At one time these guys had about at least 10 cars under them .. But due to only God knows the business fail due to some shady things among the two partners of the business.. One partner register the business and made the other partner think that he is also a co owner of the business.. Some crazy stuff was going on sha ....it was crazy...... So my point is whether na labour job or mental job you dey do. Na you know your own goal and plan.. Nobody go hold your hands o .. Another example, you will see some of these Igbo boyz selling parts. Some of them will start with a small shop selling parts. Some will even sleep inside shop, before you know it that boy has open up his own warehouse shipping containers of parts. So my brother am done for these topic ..no be mouth person fit they talk everything o .. If you know ,you know ....as we dey type and post up and down . Some uber drivers are making money and planning their week on how to make more money o Dru bàbà, may your days be long. Everybody get weytin dem dey pursue. |

calabardick: Yes, you have lots to do; 1). You must know how to drive and be a good driver, many here only obtained the license without acquiring the knowledge to utilize it 2). You must be determined to follow all traffic laws 3). Develop the spirit of patience and perseverance 4). Develop sound customer care mindset 5). Have deep understanding of the business and the business environment 6). Be security and safety conscious at all times 7). Have it in mind that if anything happens to your rider while on a trip (not offline trip) you will be held responsible 8.) Remember, no one out there gives a fvck about you, very few brothers keepers out there 9). When driving at midnight, always maintain the speed lane (Ikoyi/Lekki axis) 10) when driving at midnight never go beyond 100km/h (Ikoyi/Lekki axis) 11) when driving midnight watch out for any slow moving or strategically parked damfo or minibus without number and do the needful, those are the government certified armed robbers 12) when you got a request for a cash trip, endeavor to inform your rider your terms for cash trips before commencing the trip 13) If you aren't driving your personal car, be careful of the car you go after, majority of those cars are cursed, as soon as you lease it, it takes your money, takes you time, makes Kazeem and his family your best friend, gives you low rating, and at the end of the week the only money left with you is your weekly rentals. Be careful of these devourers. I think drivers should start posting pictures of their car license plate here as soon as they lease it, so that if it has any bad records its previous victims could raise alarm. 14) When LASTMA or Taskforce jump infront of your car, close your eyes, horn, turn on your hazard light, press your accelerator to the end and clear that obstacle (you're on your own) 15) Always pray before you leave your house, ask God to give you the grace to overcome the temptations of that day. 16) Finally, never abandon a fellow driver in times of need, it might be you tomorrow.
God bless you Bro, you no go fall. |

peeps4u: You may just get the car GPS device for navigation or for occasional use to get requests in the case you are staying in the car. But know that as 1daboi opined, you will need to step out of the car to get requests most times, and your phone comes handy these times.
The device is something to try, it will be interesting. So I will not discourage you. You just want to challenge and change the status quo which is exciting.
I want to believe you have a small phone which suits the uber requirement which you can fall back on in the case of IF. How much is the device in question? Cos the link he shared yesterday says the device is over a 100k |

peeps4u: Saka isn't the solution. You should have asked for what could have caused it and the solution. You would even wait endlessly because no one would grant your saka request.
It could be your phone, infinix and tecno brands arent recommmended. Someone has also given you advice to always update your destination in such situation.
Good luck to you in your hustle and may you not work in vain. This one I am seeing tecno and infinix phones are not acceptable for Uber. I use a gionee phone. I hope it will work Sha. |
