With reference to our earlier circular No. AAU/REG/CIR.100/VOL.VIII/40 dated 18th March, 2022 directing all students to vacate the Halls of Residence on or before midnight on Tuesday, 22nd March, 2022, the University Management, on behalf of Senate, has reviewed the said directive and directed that students should return to campus on Thursday, 26th May, 2022.

Consequently, all returning students for the 2020/2021 session are hereby informed that the Halls of Residence would be opened on the above-mentioned date.

Apart from Royal Antwerp’s Yusuf, captain Ahmed Musa, Rangers’ Young Player of the Year Calvin Bassey, FC Nantes’ Moses Simon as well as Everton’s Alex Iwobi made the cut.

Also included are Torino's Ola Aina, Villarreal's Samuel Chukwueze as well as Leicester City winger Ademola Lookman.

Akwa United’s Adewale Adeyinka, Ojo Olorunleke (Enyimba), Buhari, Victor Mbaoma (Enyimba), and Ishaq Rafiu (Rivers United) form the contingent from the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Nigeria face Mexico at the AT & T Stadium in Dallas on May 28 before heading to New Jersey to tackle Ecuador at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison on June 2.

The Premier League rights holders in China will not broadcast any of the games that will take place this weekend following the league's decision to show their support for Ukraine before matches.

The English league released a statement to demonstrate their solidary for Ukraine following Russia's decision to launch military attacks towards their neighbouring country last week.

According to the Athletic, Chinese broadcaster iQIYI will not show any of the Premier League matches that will take place between March 5 and 7.

"The Premier League and our clubs wholeheartedly reject Russia's actions and will be showing support for the people of Ukraine at all matches this weekend," read the Premier League's statement.

"A show of solidarity for Ukraine will be visible at all Premier League matches from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 March. This follows the numerous ways in which clubs have already demonstrated their support.

"The 20 club captains will wear special armbands in Ukrainian colours and fans are encouraged to join players, managers, match officials and club staff in a moment of reflection and solidarity before kick-off at each game.

"Big screens at stadiums will display 'Football Stands Together' against the backdrop of the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag. These words will also be shown on LED perimeter boards during matches.

"This message of solidarity will also be visible to fans around the world across Premier League digital channels. Logos and profiles on those platforms will change to represent the colours of the Ukrainian flag, which will also be displayed across match broadcasts both in the UK and overseas."

China's stance
While several European countries and the US have decided to impose sanctions against Russia, China announced that they are not willing to bring their collaboration with Russia to a halt.

"China and Russia will continue to conduct normal trade cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit," said China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin.

The International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) has announced the death of two Ukrainian players as a result of Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

Vitalii Sapylo (21) and Dmytro Martynenko (25) lost their lives in combat. Sapylo was part of Karpaty Lviv's youth team and, as his club has made public, died last Friday.

Martynenko, who played for FC Gostomel, died after Russian bombs hit his home during one of the attacks.

Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and teammates of young Ukrainian footballers Vitalii Sapylo (21) and Dmytro Martynenko (25), football's first reported losses in this war," FIFPRO announced.

"May they both rest in peace."

Tom Holland has revealed he will take a break from acting after the release of 'The Crowded Room'.

Holland has filmed 19 films since 2015, including the sequels 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' and 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', with the latter becoming the highest-grossing film of the year.
