That's their goal. They write up an emotional story to make you feel sober, then put up an account number for people to pay into.

Once you drill them in order to authenticate the originality of their story, you'll start seeing glaring inconsistencies like you pointed out.

During the covid lockdown, it was celebrities they were stalking. It got so bad that even don jazzy had to cry out that he receives over a thousand dms daily mostly from people begging him. This same people dragged him for crying out, some even called him stingy. Some celebrities like Davido and others succumbed to pressure by going give away.

My annoyance that period and even now is that none of these people are stalking their elected politicians. These leaders horded palliatives meant for the masses, yet no single social media chronic beggar called them out the way they were calling celebrities.

None went to their various social media pages to post account number or shade them for not giving them money.

Those are the people they're supposed to be begging, not someone hussling to keep his head afloat in this horrible economy.

Covid finished, and it became worse. Some would just go through your Facebook pics, and the next thing is to send you an emotional message begging for money....like who does that?

Good evening Mr Nazgul schooling in AAU where it is about money and the cost of living is very high in ekpoma and there's no good job, things are very difficult for me and I created alot of thread soliciting for help and advice especially last year, at times I contemplate dropping out and even suicide. As expected she has disappeared. I wonder how many years it would take someone to post his/her school ID and past school fees receipt... this is one of the reasons why I don't take online beggars seriously cos 99.9% of them are into one addiction or the other.

They come online with various monikers composing all sorts of emotional stories. If you fall for their deceit and give them money, they'll either they'll use it to gamble or carry olosho. Once they've exhausted the money, they'll come back with another moniker to beg for another one....it's an endless cycle.

Uniben did me shege I for don grad or serve... 2016 I was given adult education, 2017 no admission despite Crossing d cut off mark 2018 I didn't pass the putme then AAU accepted me in 2019 by God's grace I'll be graduating December the journey hasn't been easy but I thank God

Good afternoon nairalanders, I'm not happy doing this at this point I have no option, after I was fired from my previous work I looked for work a bit before I decided to face my studies as I was lagging behind, I missed some impromptu tests and attendance is mandatory I can't be working and be schooling, I was hoping to work something out to pay the fees now we are starting exams next week Monday and I'm yet to pay my school fees and I can't sit for the exams without paying the school fees, the amount is 56250 and I have 42500 saved in my account and I'm 14k short. Two months ago a kind nairalander volunteered to help me but the person couldn't for two reasons first I don't have access to the money since I don't want to spend it and secondly wanted to use escrow which I refused
