A Nigerian man has taken to his Instagram page to rant on how armed robbers invaded an eatery in Lagos, where they were having lunch, and robbed customers without any interruption. According to the man, the entire scene looked like a pre-planned job as the security men at the eatery allegedly fled from the scene immediately the robbers stormed the eatery. He also alleged that the manager refused to show up while the robbery was going on. He wrote: Nigeria insecurity…, we got robbed at Tastee this afternoon by 3:30pm when having our lunch , when the robbers got in the Generator and power supply got off immediately the robbers entered the restaurant and shot 5times, collected money, phones etc, the security men ran away when the robbers was obtaining everyone and they did not touch there staff only the customer got robbed it all looks like a a set up already planned with the robbers.Watch the video here and see reactions. About 8,000 people have fled Rann, a Borno border town, to Cameroon in the aftermath of a Boko Haram attack on the town last Tuesday. Aid organisation Medecins San Frontieres (MSF) in an update on the Rann attack released Thursday night said residents fled to Bodo, a remote community in Cameroon, some seven kilometres from Rann. “Our sources in Bodo estimates that some 8,000 people arrived yesterday and we expect several thousand more may come today,” Hugues Robert, MSF Programme Manager for Nigeria, Hugues Robert, said in the update. “We are preparing to assist 15,000 people with food, water and medical care over the coming days. Many people were in a state of shock and were clearly distressed by what they had witnessed. Now they have lost all that they have and need absolutely everything,” he added. The organisation said many of the refugees have spent the night outdoors without shelters. Many of these locals are children, breastfeeding mother and pregnant women, MSF said. It said a team consisting of medical and logistical staff have been distributing food and water, and are providing emergency medical care. An oyinbo man walked into a jewelry shop and asked to try a gold necklace worth 632 US Dollars. He then put on the necklace and stayed a few moments, he pretended to admire the necklace before sprinting to the exit. But his escape was foiled after the owner had locked the door when he became suspicious. The thief handed over the necklace to the shop owner before the police arrived. 15 people were killed when Islamist terrorists launched an attack on a luxury hotel in Kenya yesterday. The terrorists fired shots as they barged into DusitD2 hotel complex in Nairobi on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 15, 2019. They were armed with bombs and guns. Trapped civilians were seen escaping through a window at the hotel. Those who couldn't escape sent messages out begging for medical help. At the scene, there was blood, shattered glass and bodies slumped over chairs. The death toll is reported to be at 14. Eleven Kenyans, an American and a Briton were among the casualties, morgue staff said. Tje victims had not been identified. It is feared that the death toll will rise once it is safe to go into the hotel. Kenyan authorities said yesterday that the situation had been brought under control and the scene secured. But first responders say gunshots were still heard at 4am (GMT) today. Blasts and shots had punctuated the night, making it hard to rescue scores of people trapped inside. Al-Shabab, the Somalia-based group that carried out the 2013 Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi that left 67 people dead, claimed responsibility for yesterday's bloodshed. Police said: The area around 14 Riverside Drive is a Crime Scene … under an active security operation. CCTV footage captured the armed gunmen moving through the complex with military precision, looking for victims. They then went from office to office shooting randomly. In panic, people took cover wherever they could — behind cars, in offices or inside bathrooms. Robert Murire said it was chaos. He said. When those guys came in, they just started shooting. They were not normal people. Just they were three people. They had green trousers, green tops, they had something here and bullets, black bullets. Many of the victims had been dining in the Secret Garden restaurant and lay slumped at their tables. Families who had gone to the Chiromo morgue seeking loved ones were told they could not view the bodies until a forensic investigation had been performed, provoking grief and anger. One man who only gave his name as David said he had yet to hear from a relative in the hotel complex. He told Reuters at the morgue: I have been trying to reach him since yesterday when the incident happened … I spoke to him when the incident started around 3.30, when they started shooting … his phone went off around 4 pm. The family of one 35-year-old man collapsed in the courtyard when they heard that a body had arrived with his identification papers. The co-ordinated attack began with an explosion that targeted three vehicles outside a bank, and a suicide bombing in the hotel lobby that severely wounded a number of guests, said Kenya’s national police chief, Joseph Boinnet. Survivors reported hearing a shattering blast and saw people mowed down by gunmen as they sat at a cafe. Victims were left lying on tables, bleeding. Enoch Kibet, who works as a cleaner at the cafe and managed to crawl out a basement gate, said; We were changing our shifts, and that is when I heard a loud blast and people were screaming. I couldn’t believe I was alive. The blast was so loud and shook the whole complex. The Nigerian Navy on December 21, 2018 handed over four persons and a vessel allegedly involved in illegal oil bunkering to operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office, for further investigation and possible prosecution. . The suspects: Promise Onate, Emonefe Stanley, Samson Obaje and Peresey Friday were onboard the vessel, MV Enterprise, when they were rounded up by men of the Nigerian Navy, NNS Delta on December 4, 2018 at Nana Creek Escravos, Delta State. . . They were arrested on the suspicion that they were conveying Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, without any valid approval. . . Captain P. G. Yilme, who represented the NNS Commander at the handing over in Warri, Delta State, said, "After forensic analysis of the product by officials of Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, the result revealed that the product onboard were poorly refined AGO". Policemen attached to Ilasamaja division have arrested two suspected members of a robbery syndicate that specialised in attacking customers, who had gone to withdraw money from banks at Sadiku/ Ilasamaja, along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway, Lagos. The syndicate which usually operate on motorcycle positioned themselves along the service lane, awaiting their victims. Following several complaints of attacks, the Lagos State Police Command boss, Mr Edgal Imohimi, directed 24 hours surveillance around the banks and others along the expressway. It was gathered that immediately a male customer who had gone to withdraw N350,000 stepped out of one of the banks at about 2pm , Friday, the suspects: Boniface Ewerem(46) and Joseph,(42) ordered him to bring the money, pointing a gun at him. One of them according to eye witnesses fired a shot into the air as he snatched the money from the customer and zoomed off in their operational motorbike. Luck, however, ran against them as policemen from Ilasamaja chased and caught up with them. Angry members of the community requested that the suspects be handed over to them with an apparent intent to carry out jungle justice on them. Explaining how they were arrested, one of the residents, Ayiola Ganiu, said “The attacked customer raised the alarm which alerted us. Everyone chased them. They abandoned their motorbike and ran across the express, inward Soaps, unknown to them that there was a police station on that side. Policemen at Ilasamaja division, led by their DPO, joined in the chase until they were caught. “If the Police had not intervened, the robbers would have been lynched because they have sent many lives to oremature deaths. We wanted them to serve as deterrents to their colleagues. Unfortunately for us, the Police were present. The suspects during interrogation revealed that they came from Iba area of the state to operate. One of the suspects, Joseph, said they intended to use their loot to celebrate Christmas with their families. He said: “This is my first time. I wanted to use the money I would have stolen to celebrate Christmas. We never had any intention to kill our victims”The suspects, as gathered, were immediately transferred to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, as a crowd thronged the station. According to her, their only crime was keeping out late, which she reported was due to the fact that she had a flat battery on her phone and had to stay late at a bar to charge up before heading home with her cousin.
