Prospective Corps member slumps, hits head on stone and dies shortly after collecting call-up letter

A 2017 graduate of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University formerly Anambra State University, died on Friday, while running around trying to round up clearance in preparation to go to Ebonyi state on Saturday, where he was posted for his mandatory one year National youth Service program.

An eyewitness, narrated how a bus driver refused to take the young man to the hospital because he had more important business to attend to.

ANSU MOURNS It was about 9am today, my executives and I were coming back from the chapel but something attracted us at geology department. I don’t know the boy , I don’t know his past medical history but I saw a young guy holding a brown envelope indicating he was doing his clearance.

The very few observers at the scene before we got there said he was running along the geology/picture stand road indicating he was battling with whatever must be wrong with him . He slumped and hit his neck on the stone at the flower bed of geology dept building. When we got there the women who sweep the school compound gathered and were praying telling us not to touch him.


Initially we thought it was convulsion but I couldn’t tell. I insisted we took medical action. # Swags ran to medical unit but it was locked . (With reasons a convocation lecture was on at igbariam campus).One girl who said was a masters student ran with me to beg a bus passing by inside school to help us take him to the hospital but the man bluntly refused saying he has business to attend to.He was heading towards GSS.


Seeing this we ran to bank road because as usual cars would always be there. The first hilux we saw we blocked the hilux begging the two men in it. They accepted and carried us to the scene. saliva was still dripping off this guys mouth which made everyone fink it’s epilepsy. When we got him into the car laying him at the back with my president Nibo Okezie and one other observer who was there before then with me at the front sit we took off .

The owner of the hilux said his car was not good we were managing it. due to ASUU strike everywhere was empty . While on the way I got his phone Nd called his dad and mum asking if he had epilepsy Nd what we should do .we took the receipt of of his envelope to get his name.


They said we should leave him he would wake up that it usually happens (If only the knew how he fell Nd how this condition was critical )I checked more in his call log and called his aunty he said someone hit his head in secondary school and since then he has had seizures. got to Rex hospital at Uli center and the unseriousness of the place pissed me off when the doctor just checked and said he died since in school .


I didn’t accept this nor give up koz stethoscope wouldn’t convince me. I ran few distance to the park Nd got shuttle since the hilux couldn’t go again. Since pple around were loosing hope when I got back there I had to look more in his log to get contacts of his friends they may possibly know best how to treat him.


Already we left the Rex hospital with Shuttle and headed for our lady’s ihiala(that was a real hospital to me) I checked his pulse while on the road and though I didn’t feel anything I encouraged my president Nd the gal behind that he wasn’t dead (saying my dad was cold when he died)but this boy was still warm. Before we got to total the gal holding him at the other end tapped me saying he’s becoming cold .

We got to our lady’s and at the emergency the matron checked his finger with another device and said it couldn’t read it.......He was gone . My Nfcs President Nd i we’re asked not to leave until his parents came .
His lecturers came by saying he is a graduate of 2017 and had rounded up the courses in school preparing to go to Ebonyi state tomorrow where he was posted for NYSC. It was then some of the contacts I called came to the hospital. They said he had been battling with it since Nd we should have given him tomatoes??


How would I know ? I don’t even know the boy. We were just passers-by .At about 12noon, his parents came to our lady’s all the way from onitsha since I had not told them on phone he was dead yet , she thanked us Nd we lead her to emergency unit where the lecturer and the matron nurse disclose the news. We were then permitted to leave. I. # UdeaforClaudia don’t know this person but I must say this is a horrible experience with .

Ofcourse when I came back I went to tracas park in school with the masters student I begged the driver with .

We discovered he wasn’t even loved there Nd never worked there again they’ve even us his number, called him and told him they boy he refused to help Because he was running to make money was dead and then we left.May his soul Rest In Peace Amen Sometimes let’s not be to spiritual please it’s out of carelessness this boy died koz if those women carried him immediately than casting and binding I don’t fink this would have happened Am not blaming anyone but it’s horrible.

Richard Kofi Jordan, the General Secretary of mortuary workers Union, has asked people 'not to die' until they call off their strike action and resume work on November 20, 2018.

Richard Kofi Jordan insisted that the planned strike action will take place unless the government heeds to their concerns.

He said:

Those who intend to die during that period should wait when mortuary men are back to work they die. Simple.

Mortuary men in public health facilities are protesting over their poor working conditions and are therefore demanding improved services and an increase in salary.

According to the aggrieved morticians, they are exposed to several diseases while working with the dead bodies and chemicals, but each time they raise concerns, the government appears to be dragging its feet.
Richard Jordan lamented:

The chemicals we use give us five different kinds of cancers, the government is aware of this situation. We are also at risk of blindness but nobody is addressing our challenges.

According to reports, the Bayelsa State Vigilante Service has apprehended two suspects in connection with the killing of Miss Seiyefa Fred who was gunned down last Thursday evening by hoodlums during an operation in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital.

The suspects were apprehended at Amarata area of the state this morning by 5:am.
The names of the suspect are: Junior Danumunabo from Nembe Ogbolomabiri, a 20-year-old boy, who resides at Gwe Gwe street in Yenagoa and one Ezeagi who is allegedly the boss and gave them guns.

Report has it that the suspects are fully ready to cooperate with the Nigeria police force to fetch out everyone involved in the act.
Seiyefa Fred, a 100 level student of Niger Delta University in Amassoma, was attacked on Thursday, November 8, by suspected cultists who asked for her new iPhone which she reportedly gave to them after hesitating.

She was shot dead at close range near her compound in Amarata area.
The hoodlums ran away after shooting the victim as residents of the area came out and rushed her to the hospital where she later passed away.

Governor El-Rufai has provided reasons why El-Zakzaky, cannot be set free, as well as clarified comments that FG spends N3.5m monthly on feeding the imprisoned Shia Muslim cleric.

Speaking when he received management team of The Sun Publishing Limited, in Kaduna on Thursday, the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, gave reasons why detained Shiite leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, cannot be set free.

El-Rufai, disclosed that the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), El-Zakzaky, was not being held illegally as widely reported.
He added that the IMN leader was detained on the orders of a competent court, being a suspect standing trial for multiple murders and other related criminal offences.

The governor said the state government took time to investigate the Shi’ite leader and discovered that his activities for more than 20 years had caused several killings, adding that having concluded investigation, the state took custody of El-Zakzaky from the DSS and duly charged him with multiple murders.

Explaining the alleged daily expenses of about N3.5 million on El-Zakzaky, he said the money was not on feeding of the Shi’ite leader but on everything related to his protective custody.

El-Rufai said El-Zakzaky is guarded by a detachment of soldiers and DSS operatives who live in the place he is being kept and who are maintained by the state government.

He said, “The N3.5 million monthly feeding on El-Zakzaky is not only about his food, but other expenses on security men attached to him.

“The security men are permanently stationed with him, they surrounded where he is kept. He is in custody because he is facing murder charge which is not bailable, among other charges.
“As a government, we decided to proscribe Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) of which El-Zakzaky is the president because it is not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
“So, any procession in the name of IMN is illegal, as far as Kaduna State government is concerned.”

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to claims by Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo that he left Nigeria with debt and ruined the economy due to the alleged corruption under his watch, DailyPost has reported.

The Vice President had during a lecture entitled, “Restructuring and the Nigerian federation,” delivered as part of activities marking the 40th anniversary of Association of Friends in Lagos yesterday, accused the immediate past government of President Goodluck Jonathan, of throwing Nigeria into untold hardship, recession and debt.

But reacting in a statement made available to daily post by Reno Omokri (for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan), the former President wondered why Osinbajo, who, according to him, was recently indicted by the House of Representatives for an alleged worse corruption in Nigeria, should point accusing fingers at him (Jonathan).

The statement continues, “My attention has been drawn to regurgitated and discredited allegations by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo blaming former President Jonathan of saddling Nigeria with debt and ruining the economy by the alleged corruption of his administration.

“How can Vice President Osinbajo, a man who had just been indicted by the House of Representatives in one of the biggest corruption scams ever in Nigeria’s history, have the gall to point accusing fingers on Dr. Jonathan, a man that is celebrated internationally for his efforts at achieving Nigeria’s best rating in Transparency International’s annual Corruption Perception Rating when Nigeria improved 8 paces from 144 to 136 in 2014?

“Having read through the sordid details of Professor Osinbajo’s corruption as revealed in the indictment by Nigeria’s House of Representatives, it is easy to understand why Nigeria made her worst ever retrogression in Transparency International’s annual Corruption Perception under him this year, moving 11 paces backwards from 136 to 148.

“On the issue of debt, the fact remains that in the entire 16 years that the Peoples Democratic Party governed Nigeria, the total amount of money borrowed was N8.06 trillion Naira. These are facts sourced directly from the budget office controlled by the Buhari administration.

“However, in only 3 years, the All Progressives Congress-led administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has borrowed a total of N10 trillion Naira. With this fact in hand, where does Vice President Osinbajo have the moral authority to point leprous fingers at former President Jonathan?

“The claim by Vice President Osinbajo that former President Jonathan left $$63 billion in debt is also a false claim. The Jonathan administration inherited $42.23 billion in debt in 2011 which were debts borrowed by the states and the Federal Government.

“Throughout the five years that he was President, former President Jonathan incurred the wrath of several state governments because his administration refused to guarantee their foreign loans.

“The reason that Nigeria’s debt has ballooned under this administration is because the Federal Government lacks the discipline that Jonathan had and are thus unable to curb borrowing by both the Federal Government and the states.

“For example, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, the Debt Management Office revealed that in just 2017 alone, the Buhari administration borrowed N2.4 trillion to fund their budget deficit. This is besides other loans that they took in 2017 alone.

That money is more than the funds borrowed by the Jonathan administration in 5 years!
“To show to Nigerians the profligacy and ineptitude of the current administration, I draw their attention to the fact that between July and August 2018, the Buhari administration claimed it had shared $322 million Abacha funds recovered by the Jonathan administration to the poor. Then a week after it made that announcement, the Buhari government borrowed $328 million from China.


“The question is this, why would you share out $322 million one week only to borrow the same amount next week? Why not use the Abacha funds to fund government activities instead of adding to the already strained debt burden?
“These are questions that Vice President Osinbajo should answer rather than making false allegations against former President Jonathan.”

Police in Croydon are appealing to trace a missing 24-year-old Nigerian lady from Park Road, South Norwood, London.
Ann Oboh was last seen at 1700 hours on Thursday, 8 November in the South Norwood area of Croydon.

She is a black female, of slim build 6ft tall with black medium length hair.
She is known to visit St Matthews’s yard and Croydon town centre.
At the time of going missing, Ann was wearing a pink jacket. No other clothing is known at this time.

Ann is 24 years old. She has learning difficulties and has a mental age of 11-12 years. She struggles with day to day activities and requires prompting and assistance with simple tasks.

A woman is suing her ex-boyfriend after his “abnormally long” manhood allegedly overstretched her v@gina. Silindile Mangena, 29, is planning to undergo reconstructive surgery after getting intimate with Mugove Kurima, 37.

But she wants Kurima to pay the whopping 150,000 Rand (£8,000) cost of this – and is reportedly taking him to court.

Silindile, of Harare, Zimbabwe, told the Zimbabwe Mail that her private parts were “tight” before she met her ex in 2016.

She said she fell in love even though he was allegedly married at the time.

However, she ended the relationship in May this year after Kurima is alleged to have stretched her v@gina.

It is currently unclear how large Silindile alleges her ex’s manhood is.

The woman will reportedly ask the court – through her lawyers, Dakarai, Masendu and Partners – to force Kurima to pay for reconstructive surgery of her vagina in South Africa.

Kurima is yet to respond to the allegations.

A murder investigation continues following the death of a 16-year-old boy in Lambeth.
Police were initially called to Greenleaf Close, Tulse Hill at 22.53hrs on Monday, 5 November, to reports of a shooting.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found a 16-year-old boy collapsed in the street with stab injuries.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the male was pronounced dead at the scene at 23:41hrs. His next of kin are aware.

He has been formally identified as John Ogunjobi, 16, of Tulse Hill.
A post-mortem examination held on Thursday, 8 November, at Greenwich Mortuary gave cause of death as a stab wound.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether a firearm was discharged.
An investigation is underway by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh.
DCI Vandenbergh said: "I am appealing to anyone who has information that could assist this investigation to come forward and speak to police.

"We believe the victim was attacked by a number of suspects and the altercation would have undoubtedly drawn the attention of those who were in the vicinity.

"Did you see or hear anything? If so, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, please call - your information could prove to be crucial."
Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have captured footage or images of the incident on their mobile phone to get in contact.

"We have seen a spate of fatal stabbings in south London recently with five murders over the course of the last week. One murder is one too many with the devastation it causes to families, friends and communities difficult to comprehend.

"Tackling violence is a priority and one which remains at the forefront of all the work we do. This includes utilising our local resources but also supplementing them with resources from across the Met, including the Violent Crime Taskforce. Extra officers have been assigned to the Central South Command to work alongside local officers - you will see them out and about on patrol.

"And our prevention work, which has been key in helping to stem the overall tide of violent crime, remains ongoing. Across the Met this year, officers have conducted over 21,000 weapons sweeps and taken hundreds of weapons off the streets. This work will continue.

"The support of the community is vital in the work we do, including combatting violent crime. I would urge anyone who has witnessed a crime, violent or otherwise, to contact police as soon as possible and help us to remove violent individuals from our streets.

"Any information, no matter how big or small, could be of huge help to our investigations and all information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has exposed an electronic voting machine which he alleges the ruling APC plans to use to rig out Atiku in 2019 presidential election.

The outspoken senator representing Bayelsa East, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has taken to his Twitter page to claim that the All Progressives Congress (APC) plans to rig the 2019 presidential election against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate, Atiku Abuakar using an electronic voting machine.

In a tweet posted on social media on Thursday, the lawmaker who shared a video of the machine allegedly being test-run in Kaduna state, said the machine can allow for multiple voting with just an Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s password.

In the video, a man is seen using just one key-card to unlock the machine while several others queued to vote. With the key card, it is believed that multiple voting can be done.
The common sense senator however called on the authorities to investigate the planned use of the machine for elections in 2019.

He wrote, “Information reaching us is that this device, which was first used in Kaduna, may be used in rigging the 2019 election against @atiku. It is alleged that with this machine, you can vote multiple times with an @inecnigeria password. I call on the authorities to investigate this.”

A Nigerian lady identified as Modesta Chinomso has shared a shocking story of how she was almost hit by a stray bullet in her room.

She explained that the bullet came from her roof and penetrated through her ceiling before landing next to her on her bed.

“I Was suppose to go out yesterday as usual but couldn't because i was battling with high fever and cold so i decided to stay back rest while waiting for my result from the laboratory i went the previous day.

Three persons have been confirmed dead after a boat conveying about twenty passengers capsized in Lagos, The Guardian has reported.
It was gathered that the boat was enroute Ojo from Coconut jetty, a suburb in Lagos when the sad incident happened.

Although there was yet to be a report on the state of safety of the remaining seventeen accident victims, but three were confirmed dead at the scene of the accudent Wednesday night.

“Three people have died and five others missing as boat conveying 20 passengers capzised mid-sea in Lagos yesterday night,” a source told The Guardian.

US based Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington has also reacted to the video of soldiers killing women and kids in Cameroon.


According to Speed Darlington, he thought it was a video of soldiers fighting terrorists not knowing they were killing women and kids intentionally. He added that such use of violence, is why Nnamdi Kanu wants Biafra. He wrote;

First I thought these Are Soldiers killing terrorists and their wifes and I was mad, why kill his wife? is she a terrorist too? no. Then the more I watch the video I realize that these men are terrorist terrorizing villages.

My heart is bleeding what did a baby do? did you have to kill a boy and his mother? Another woman was shot to death. Am I dreaming this is Islamic terrorist that wants to turn the whole continent into Allah Akbar continent. This is the kind of behavior that makes Nnamdi Kanu wants Biafra.

The footage showing two women, a child and a baby being shot dead by armed men in Cameroon, has led to accusations by Amnesty International that the country’s army may be carrying out killings.

In the video, which has been widely shared on social media, a woman is seen walking down a dirt track, holding a child by the hand. A man in military clothing and aviator sunglasses, with a rifle swinging from his shoulder, is holding her by the neck. As they walk, he periodically slaps her face.

Behind her walks another woman, with a baby tied to her back, and behind them a group of men. The men suspect the women of belonging to Boko Haram.

“BH, you’re going to die,” says the person recording the video, as they turn off the track and stop walking. The women are blindfolded and made to sit down.
“Yes, come here, little girl,” one soldier says to the child, who has let go of the woman’s hand. He removes her top and wraps it around her face. Then the soldiers open fire, killing all four women and children.

University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate has opened up about releasing President Buhari's certificate.


The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, now known as Cambridge Assessment, has said it could only release the certificate of President Muhammadu Buhari if he requests for it.

This came on a day Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said President Muhammadu Buhari has entangled himself in a web of corruption by trying to launder his West African Examination Council, WAEC, certificate scandal instead of being remorseful and apologising to Nigerians.

The examination body in a statement yesterday, said it was responding to inquiries by Nigerians interested in authenticating Buhari’s certificate.
Cambridge, a United Kingdom-based examination body, oversaw the conduct of final year secondary school examination in Nigeria and placement into foreign universities in the 1960s. The examination body, however, said that for it to release a candidate’s certificate, the student must request for it.

It also confirmed that according to the regulations for 1961, African language papers, including those for Hausa, were set for the West African School Certificate, adding that it was not compulsory to pass mathematics to get the certificate.

“We can only confirm or verify results at the direct request of or with the permission of a candidate.This is in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations, Data Protection Act 2018 and section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

“Examination results were classed in grades by 1 to 9. 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 indicate a pass with Credit; 7 & 8 indicate a Pass; 9 indicates a Failure.
“To pass the School Certificate, candidates had to pass examinations in a variety of groups. It was compulsory to pass English Language, but not Maths, in order to gain the Certificate. The number of candidates who sat for the WASC Hausa examination in 1961 was 152. Our records show that Hausa was set in the Northern Region in 1961,’’ the statement read.

Ahead of the 2019 elections, presentation of academic certificates is one of the requirements for those seeking elective positions. The president had told the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that his certificates were with the military board.

This generated criticisms with opposition parties and some Nigerians insisted that the president must produce his academic certificates.
However, on Friday, the West African Examination council (WAEC) presented an attestation of result to Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja.

He also revealed that ‘hustlers’ are now selling ladies’ panties for N200,000 and the worn ones as high as N350,000.

Now, a lady has cried out online (literally) as she claimed her friend’s boyfriend sold her panties for purported rituals and ‘rendered her barren’.
According to the lady who cried bitterly in a video currently trending online (watch below), she alleged that her friend revealed the shocking news to her. She claimed that the boyfriend simply identified as Emeka who is based in Malaysia, was constantly selling her panties.

It was reported that when the Malaysian based boyfriend returned from Owerri, Imo state, he told his girlfriend to come and visit him for one week where he gave her a dozen of panties to wear.
The girlfriend reportedly said that anytime she wears a pant, it gets missing but she didn’t bother because there were others to wear as she claimed she didn’t know the boyfriend was selling them.

The lady in the video claimed her friend went to a pastor for prayers after an issue as he told her that six of her panties have been missing which she confirmed. It was alleged that the boyfriend sold them to make more money and allegedly took her womb in the process.

She claimed that the particular pant she wore to visit the boyfriend went missing and was sold for a higher price, N350K, according to the pastor.
The lady in the video who broke down in tears during the broadcast, cursed all internet fraudsters known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ boys involved in this kind of business – saying they will never know peace including their families as she claimed that her friend will never bear a child, according to the pastor’s revelation.

The lady also urged other girls to be careful and not to trust anyone especially the ‘Yahoo’ boys and to be careful with their panties when visiting their partners.

APC Chieftain, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has undergone surgery in Germany and is now doing quite well afterwards.


Dr. Orji Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has regained consciousness after undergoing a major surgery in Germany, Sun News reports.

The frontline politician and his wife, Mrs Ifunanya Kalu, had boarded a flight on Lufthansa Airline from Abuja to Wiesbaden, Germany on Monday.
Kalu, who had been suffering from an undisclosed and life-threatening ailment, upon arrival in Germany on Tuesday, was rushed in an ambulance to Helios Klinik, Wiesbaden.

The APC chieftain, who is asthmatic, has been in and out of the said hospital in the past few months.
According to Kalu’s wife, Ifunanya, who is with her husband in the German hospital, the former governor was admitted into the operating theatre for a major operation on Wednesday.

In a telephone conversation on Friday, Mrs Kalu, whose voice was quavering, lamented her husband’s health status.
“Although the surgery was successful, my husband will still have to be monitored closely by a medical team for at least four months in order to prevent complications.

“His condition is improving gradually.
“He will be fine, if he is able to keep to his doctor’s advice.
“We appreciate the prayers and kind words from friends, associates, well-wishers and Nigerians in general”, she said.
