Hello smarties, this is my first time applying for a Business visa. Want to know if I apply for a conference that will last just a week, will the visa granted last for just that period or will it be for the normal 90 days window?

To apply for German business visa, go online to German Embassy website, book an appointment for interview. On the website, you'll see a checklist of required documents for the visa interview. Since you have to book an appointment before you appear for interview, it's unlikely you'll be able to book appointment and appear for interview same day. Yeah the individual must appear at the consulate for interview except for some few exceptions stated on the Embassy website. I'll advice you read through this thread and the German Embassy website also for more details

Put in German tourist/ business visas for my siblings on 21st sept and 26th sept respectively, visas were granted on 28th sept and 6th oct respectively

a case were the company is sponsoring the trip and funds have been available and paid directly into the persons account.. For the journey is there any need for company bank statement or just were the money has been paid into.. Letter covering it has been made already.

Please help

If that be the case then no need to say company is sponsoring the trip, if your account details reflect the cash you need for the trip you can verbally explain that for the VO

She should attach her boss statement of account since his sponsoring her and carry her own too just incase , again it depends on the the period they or she will be spending in Deutschland. This is a very helpful thread, meanwhile is not so difficult as we make it seem, go online look for conferences that are related to your career that are available, send organizers mail about attending , pay for it (that can be simply done by contacting some trustworthy guys on nairaland business section who can pay to any foreign account for a small fee , get the needed documents and you are on your way to Deutschland.

As you can only access the DS 160confirmation page.

My advice is try travel to another country to change your status before reapplying for USA visa.

As long as the conference organiser did not indicate that the conference is for only locals, you're 100% free to apply. However, the VO has the final decision. For instance, there is a conference in US i recently scheduled an appointment for and i have confirmed if i am good to apply as i'm travelling from Dublin. I emailed them and i also gave them phone calls and i got positive reply. I'm the type that always make sure i provide more than required documents for visa applications, so i always communicate directly with conference organisers by email to confirm the validity & genuineness, where i am coming from to attend the conference. They always give me the best answer.

However, always try to contact the conference organiser and let the organiser know that you're coming from outside the state even though you have indicated that on your online conference registration form.

Least i forgot, if anyone need 100% free conference, let me know, i will try find one for you. Not guarantee, but i will try. I've given just few people and some of them got their US visa with it. Once you should your conference are of interest i will contact you via nairaland mail if i get any for you or not. Pls don't send me pm about this, don't leave your contact details here.
