The governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has reiterated the G5 Governor’s demands to PDP that the current chairman of the party must go so that a Southerner can become chairman of the party.

Wike said this at the venue of the flag-off ceremony for the construction of Eneka -Igbo Etche Road dualisation project.

He said the deman is non-negotiable.

German Foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock visited Nigeria on the 22 of December.

She was in Borno state where she interacted with some members of resettled Ngarannam community in Mafa LGA in the state.

A Nigerian Journalist working with HumAngle, Murtala posted her pictures on Twitter with her personal security guards.

The pictures generated a lot of reactions from Nigerians. Some see it as a shame to Nigeria that the minister doesn’t trust Nigerian security personnel to protect her, while others see it as a wake up call for Nigerian government.

The Senate has told the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to urgently extend the withdrawal date of old currency notes from Jan. 31, 2023, to June 31.

The upper chamber’s resolution was sequel to a point of order raised by Sen. Mohammed Ndume (APC-Borno) during Wednesday’s plenary.

CBN had on Oct. 26, announced plans to redesign the 200, 500, and 1,000 naira notes.

President of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) Muhammad Bello Shehu has said that no political office holder is earning a Jumbo salary in Nigeria.



He said even the president’s salary is not more than 1.2M and nobody earns more than that.

“I have said it in public that the salary of the president is not more than N1.2 million a month and nobody earns higher than that not even the Chief Justice of the Federation or the Senate President”

He went ahead to disclose the salary of The Senate president which he said is not more than 1 million.



“That is not jumbo salary but the salary of the Senate President is not more than N1 million”



Muhammad Bello also said the salary of minister after tax is below 1 million.

“The salary of a minister after removing taxes is slightly under N1 million a month.”



He said all these during an interview with Thesun. He said that even members of the national assembly are not earning a Jumbo salary as speculated.



He said “At the National Assembly nobody gets a jumbo salary. What people are mistaking it for is operational cost where when you are elected into the National Assembly you will have SA, constituency office – all approved depending on the size of your constituency. They monetise all those things.”

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of NNPC in the 2023 general elections has been trending for saying he doesn’t bedwet and he is not a spare tyre.


Kwankwaso said in an interview with journalists in Katsina.


He said “I am a Doctor of Philosophy holder, unlike a secondary school certificate holder or diploma certificate holder. I do not ‘bedwet’, nor am I a spare tyre”

Kwankwaso was believed to be making a veiled jab at ruling All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and People Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has said that the government could not immediately attend to the wage increase demands of the workers due to a cash crunch and revenue shortage.



He said this to the state house correspondents after meeting with the president Muhammadu Buhari.


He discussed issues of industrial disputes, condition of workers, and the rising Unemployment with the president.


Ngige said that the private sector are doing better in terms of salary and finance management because they can easily manage their finances, The Cable reports.



He said: “In the private sector, the private sector employers have managed their affairs better, maybe, because their finances and its management is within their very audit and they could control it, they could do collecting bargaining very easily with their workers. In the banking sector, Food, beverages and finance insurance are everywhere. So there is calm there. We didn’t have the desired calmness on the government’s side because of the government’s finances.”
