Provide a transparent benchmark to determine the value of used (Tokunbo) vehicles. This will be achieved via the application of depreciation indices on the value of new vehicles; however, the final depreciation assessment shall not be below 30% of the value of the new vehicle equivalent.
Men, this clause is wicked o angry angry angry 30% value of a vehicle bought for $30,000 13years ago will be about $9,000 with the new assessment and consequently, the import tarrif will be higher. Can they not just settle for the option of checking out the price from the point of purchase or using Kelly blue book value rather than this new way of milking the poor?
hmmmm. University of Chicago is rated much more highly than Chicago University. Inasmuch as the error was acknowledged and corrected, no court can treat this as a crime. I understand why some people tried to make a mountain out of this mole hill.
You are very correct bro. My people, please see Tinubu's profile on Wikipedia below, OP and his ilks need to shut up. Lets not dignify these 'morons with answers or attention.
Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu was born on 29 March 1952 in the city of Lagos. He attended St. John's Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos and Children's Home School in Ibadan. Tinubu went to the United States in 1975, where he studied first at Richard J. Daley College in Chicago, Illinois and then at Chicago State University. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.[1]

Tinubu worked for American companies Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells, and GTE Services Corporation.[2] After returning to Nigeria in 1983 Bola Tunubu obtained work with Mobil Oil Nigeria, becoming an executive of the company.

An accounting graduate who also holds an MBA from St Paul’s College, Lawrenceville Virginia USA, Princess Oduah has also brought her rich educational background to bear on the aviation sector by automating revenue centers in all the agencies and parastatals to boost their revenue profile and enhance transparency and accountability in the system. This has also blocked all the leakages and sharp practices that were hitherto associated with the manual process of revenue collection- a pointer to her zero tolerance for corruption.
^^^ Above is from the sun editorial of December 11 2012 and she basked in the euphoria then, why was a disclaimer not raised to refuted the MBA claimed in the article? huh huh

femmy2010: If he fail to bring out the container today(Yes,terminals works on saturdays) then I do advise you go to the port on Monday and demand to know when you are getting the car.
You have a right to see the papers reflecting what and what he has done so far.
Copies of this papers would allow me give you an informed advise on what to do or what could be causing the delay.

Thanks
Thanks a lot chief, I have my BOL as well as the container tracker print-out from safmarine site.

femmy2010: So sorry for your plight.what precisely did the agent says is causing the delay?
It normally shouldn't take more than a week after discharged into the termial to get it out.
Let's hope he gets it out 2day.
Do feel free to hit up if the need arises.
@ Femmy2010, I am now in total confusion as the agent failed to get it out again, this is a container which came on a vessel on the 13th December 2013. The year is at an end and the vehicle and my stuffs are not yet in my hands, do you know what could be happening? I tried reaching him last night but he has switched off his phone even until this moment; he is unreachable. I called the shipper from the US through whom the clearing payment was done in the night and he keeps giving assurance. Is there anyway to track the container at the port?
