ikeno: Stop watching Africa magic Nollywood movies that keep showing ancient of all ancient. Download latest Nollywood movies and you will see that Nigeria movies have really impróve a lot more. I watched one recently that featured Denrele that guy that use to do jagaja in the cinema and it was still watery.I felt like I just wasted my money. |

ObaKlaz: I dey always avoid men like that. Overtime, their thought process go begin malfunction. Lemme give you an instance:
I used to be an OAP. I quit working with a radio station and moved to another one. But I realized the former radio station was still using the station IDs/sweepers I did for them with my voice. I was pissed off. I told two of my guys back then. One was pissed off too and told me to threaten them with a lawsuit if they didn't take down their stuff that still had my voice. Like, that's the logical thing to do.
The other guy opened his mouth and said that it's because the former place still missed me and my quality. When he said that, myself and the other guy just looked at him and felt so much pity for him. This guy watched too much Nollywood, the thing done shift him brain. Him don dey think like woman (emotions over logic!).
Ever since then, I started avoiding the annoying 'Bob risky'. Lol truly Nollywood reduces your thinking capacity. I see top artiste and actress speaking wrong English. I will just shake my head as in what are the editors doing. |

NoahHadNoArk: My thoughts too
With their stereotype cast, poorly written script, same faces in every picture, bad Special effects, bad…….
If I walk into a room and see you on any of the African magic channels, out of the many channels on cable tv you could watch, I rate you 4/10 and can’t see myself discussing either politics, current affairs or sports with you cause we won’t be on the same page.
Nollywood in the 90s and early 2000s was quite something to write home about and look forward to, with a stellar cast, great script and beautiful soundtracks from Stanley okorie (chain reaction). It made our childhood and gave us something to love and cherish in the absence of cable tv. Sad to note that there’s been a steady decline in the production of good Nollywood movies in recent years. Exactly what I am talking about. They have refused to improve as they are always predictable. Grammatical errors in their spoken English. They have a long way to go. |

It beats my imagination seeing guys watching Nigerian Nollywood home video. No disrespect to them but me that have not finished watching soccer matches,National geographic channels, movie channel and CNN will now sit down with the few hours available by power electricity providers and be watching Nollywood . Some guys love the Nollywood too much well their future wives will enjoy them as they will both be watching the channel together without quarrelling as na only their kids go disturb them in future with the watching of cartoons. |

Kobojunkie: Yeah, that show and several other shows around that time is where I believe the writer must have gotten his ideas for the Queen of the Coast from. My assessment is he wanted to give body to the wh0re of Babylon from the book of Revelation and so he made her into this Queen of the coast who had so many elements taken from Nigerian tales. You have a very vital point. He claimed it was a true life story though. |
Christianity Etc › Re: As A Kid I Read The Book Delivered From The Power Of Darkness by guobe(op): 8:08pm On Dec 24, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: Yeah! There was this particular show back then. All I remember is the main character was called Amiwu. There was another character even in that show that bore many resemblances to the queen of the coast described in that book. That was just one of many such characters in shows around that period. Okay you mean Amiwu the pot of life. |

When the insurance companies come after you, blame yourself The insurance company do verify but you know how smart Nigerians could be as there is no evidence to nail them. |

Kobojunkie: The queen of the coast was also of the stereotype that existed back then as well. There were many shows on TV around that time that the idea for the character was taken from. Lol for real |
Christianity Etc › Re: As A Kid I Read The Book Delivered From The Power Of Darkness by guobe(op): 7:06pm On Dec 24, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: Nah! The book read more like a composite of all the typical stereotypes about angels, devils, demons and heaven that were around about that time. Even the part about warehouses filled with body parts waiting to be claimed where all from doctrines that were making rounds in pulpits back then of house heaven had storehouses and what not. As a kid ,it was just frightening reading it but I kept reading it till the end.All the Queen of the coast and all . |

When I was a kid I read this book delivered from the power of darkness and also most of my peers in those days did too. It was horrific reading it but as a kid I was already used to watching horror movies like the hammer house of horror and the likes. It was quite intriguing then.

My friend in America saw the video I posted on my status of a woman whose car was hit by a man and the commotion that ensued thereafter. He called me that in America Nigerians are cashing out from those types of minor accidents and that it is just a matter of both parties exchanging their insurance policies. He said just a minor dent on the car, Nigerians can cashout five thousand dollars and that Nigerians are even praying that someone should hit their car so that they cashout. He said they learnt it from Americans too who also cashout alot from insurance companies. He told me you can even be given one hundred thousand dollars if you are able to prove that you sustained injuries in the accident. So when are we going to start having comprehensive vehicle insurance in Nigeria that works? |
