A viral Whatsapp broadcast calling for a phantom GTBank recruitment and interview drive has landed some unfortunate Nigerian graduates in an embarrassing situation.

In a series of saddening tweets, a social media user has narrated how earlier today, several hundreds of Nigerian graduates from all over the country stormed Resource Intermediaries Ltd, a recruitment firm in Victoria Island, Lagos for the said GTbank interview, only to be stopped at the the gate of the firm. What a staff told them is both shocking and embarrassing.

Nigerians react in their typical way

This is just hilarious. Minister of Power, Works and Housing Mr Raji Fashola was today, 27th September, at Eko Hotel to deliver a speech on the government's agenda for power in Nigeria when the unthinkable happened below.

Fashola looks embarrassed as he waits for power to be restored. When it is finally restored, the super minister has a very sheepish smile on his face.

The 28-year-old pregnant lady disrupted a wedding ceremony at the Sepaase Grace Baptist Church upon hearing that her partner with whom she has one child was getting married to a member of his congregation.

Akua Afriyie stormed the church premises with a bottle of Schnapp when the would-be couple was being introduced ahead of Sunday’s ceremony to the surprise of many congregants.

She invoked curses on Kofi Boateng and his bride-to-be, the pastor who was to bless the planned marriage as well as relatives and church members who would attend the wedding.

Unapologetic Madam Afriyie tells Nhyira FM’s Obra show she has lived with Boateng for over five years and is seven months pregnant with him.

Mr Boateng is the Youth President of the church who was living with Madam Afriyie at the mission house until the church de-fellowshipped him for six months for fornication following his relationship with Madam Afriyie.

The church sanction forced the two to live in separate residences for about two years although they were still seeing each other.

Madam Afriyie said she recently heard Mr Boateng is about to marry another lady.

According to her, she went back to Mr Boateng two months after she had delivered their baby, now two-years-old.

She said after they had unprotected sex on the day of the visit, she insisted on spending some days, a proposal Mr Boateng turned down for fear of the church finding out he was still fornicating.

A quarrel ensued between the two lovebirds then and she confirmed that there have been a series of quarrels since as they disagree over every issue.

Kofi Boateng who confirmed that he is getting married on Sunday added he couldn't marry Madam Afriyie because of her tendency to invoke curses at the least opportunity.

He also added that his relatives are against their relationship.

Ivie Edobor on her sick bed

A Nigerian mother of three, Ivie Edobor is crying for justice after being allegedly brutally assaulted by her estranged husband, John Edobor.

When she started divorce proceedings against him after the break down of their marriage, he allegedly battered her legs with iron rods and shattered the bones so badly that she has to have titanium plates and screws inserted in her body to keep her leg in place, and as of now she still hasn't regained the use of her right leg, while he still walks about freely.

Dear friend,

To shed more light on my ordeal, this is my story.

Two years ago my husband kick me out of his house along with my 3 daughters ages 9, 7 and 4. I was forced to move back to my father’s house and struggled to provide for my 3 children as he completely neglected them and even took them off his medical insurance provided by his office, Zenith Bank Plc.

After much struggle, I finally got back on my feet. Got a great job, enrolled my kids in a new school and rented an apartment for my 3 kids and I.

About Easter time this year he decided he wants to be part of my children’s life again. I allowed him access to the children as I felt we could be civil to each other for the sake of our children. At this time, I had started putting my documentation together for the divorce process. Early hours of June 19th, on my way back from a function, a friend had parked right in front of the gate of my apartment to press the bell for the gateman to open the gate and let me into the compound when suddenly he was rushed at and attacked by a man waving an object.

The first impression was that it was an armed robber trying to rob us. My friend, (a man) pushed him away but he came charging back. At this point, I looked out the opened door and realized it was John Edobor my enstrange husband. Before we could react a group of area boys showed up but rather than saving us from the assailant, they joined him.

The proceeded to be my friend on the floor giving John the opportunity to focus his attack on me. He used a metal bar(wheel spanner/ metal rod) to try hitting me on the head through the opened drivers door but I shielded it. Not satisfied with that, he turned to the passengers door dragged out to the floor. I landed on the floor with my legs extended where he proceeded to hit me on the leg continuously with the metal.

When he was satisfied he was about going back to join the area boys who had gathered my friend when my neighbour who had heard my screams for help and seen from his window a man striking someone on the floor thinking it was an armed robber, numbed down his balcony with a machete to save whoever was being attacked.

On getting down he was faced with my enstrange husband whom he had prevented from entering my compound without my permission on 2 occasions so he recognised him. It was at that point he overpowered John. The area boys recognised him as a member of the security team for the street and backed off my friend.

By that time I couldn’t stand up and my leg was bleeding profusely. I was rushed to the hospital where my jeans was torn off my leg to see the nature of my injury. The injury was so severe that my broken bone torn through my skin puncturing an artery in the process.

Almost 3months and 2 surgeries later, I have titanium plates and screws to keep my leg in place and I am unable to use my right leg. I still have my 3 children to care for and my life is at a stand still. The perpetuator was charged to court and released on bail 3 days later. Now he moves around freely carrying on with his life. Now is it wrong for me to cry for Justice.

Okay...this is bizzare... Church workers of City Gate Church, Benin did not prepare for what they met when they resumed for duties.

They were thrown into confusion when they opened the church premises which has a very tall gate, fortified with razor sharp barbed wires, and discovered a stark naked man roaming to and fro the compound.

The workers insist the premises was locked the previous day. Upon interrogation, the naked young man confessed he is a wizard from Delta state.

According to him, he was on an unknown assignment from Delta state when his 'spiritual google map' went haywire.

He found his course diverted, and when he got to Ring Road, Benin, he hovered around the area before crash landing, butt naked, in the church premises. He ends by professing a willingness to surrender to God since he has been 'arrested'.

President Buhari was in Edo state earlier this week, 6th September, to join the grand finale of APC gubernatorial hopeful Godwin Obaseki's campaign train, but what many people are not aware of is the drama that allegedly played out shortly before the president's convoy appeared close to the House of Assembly complex by Airport road Juncture in Benin, Edo state capital.

An eyewitness, Chijioke Anyacho narrates how a disabled woman on a wheel chair attempted suicide when she ambushed the President’s convoy, lamenting her poor living conditions.

Today I witnessed a woman on wheelchair attempt the unimaginable.........running into the president's convoy.

There was heavy military presence in King Square early this morning as president Buhari was coming to join the Grand finale of Godwin Obaseki's campaign for the September 10th gubernatorial elections in Edo State. Soon they started redirecting vehicles and in a matter of minutes Ring Road was locked down.......no vehicular movement around the Square aside Police patrol vans.

I was beside the state house of assembly by Airport road Juncture, the only side without any military presence......just a hand full of unarmed policemen and civil defense.

Soon two Hilux Jeep with a ROAD CLOSED sign painted on top was coming with speed and the security personels immediately ordered everyone to move to the walk way and not cross the road.

In less than 60 seconds, the president's convoy starts appearing from the curved corner of Airport road, they were not on the usual neck breaking speed that is the custom of Nigerian political class.

It was slow enough for you to get a good look of every single vehicle in the convoy yet fast enough for you not to be able to catch up with it in a race.

As the convoy gets close to the house of assembly complex, this woman on wheelchair appears from no where and starts wheeling herself right across the road.

The Jeep in front stops immediately....... I was expecting some armed security men to jump out and teach the woman a lesson for daring to ambush the president but they actually stopped for the woman on wheelchair to cross!!

I was dumbfounded.

It is suicidal to attempt crossing the road when a Nigerian politician is passing.

When the jeep stopped for the woman to cross, the woman stopped too...and it those splits seconds the driver of the Jeep seemed indecisive. Angry looking Mopol soon jumped downed from one of the Hilux van and charged toward the Jeep in from (sic) to know why it stopped suddenly, same time a policeman dashed for the woman on the wheelchair and pulled her back.

All these happened in less than 2 minutes.

It was when the woman grabbed the uniform of the policeman by the collar refusing to let go and shouting "una know as i take dey eat...I no dey fit buy food again...Buhari no go pass..make una leave me make i die"

It was then what just happened struck me.

She was held back till the president's convoy passed.

I don't know if i should call it desperation or bravery, honestly i don't know which..........but I think some Nigerians are becoming more daring. The economy is pushing people to the walls.

I am sure the president will never get to hear that a woman on wheelchair attempted suicide on his convoy in Benin city.

It was right in front of me that it happened.

Mamman Jiya Vatsa was childhood friends with Ibrahim Babangida and both men were peers who attended the same educational institutions.

Vatsa (3 December 1940 – 5 March 1986) was a senior Nigerian Army officer and writer who was executed by the government of Major General Ibrahim Babangida on 5 March 1986 following a military tribunal conviction for alleged treason associated with an abortive coup.

He served as Minister of the Federal Capital Abuja, and was a member of the Supreme Military Council.

In a 2006 letter to Obasanjo, Sufiya, Vatsa's Efik wife who believes IBB framed her late husband stated:

“Although there was no iota of evidence linking my husband with the phantom coup, he was convicted and sentenced to death by the Special Military Tribunal which purportedly tried him and other coup suspects. My husband’s appeal to the Armed Forces Ruling Council against his illegal conviction was yet to be considered when the Head of State, General Babangida had him secretly executed along with the other coup convicts.”

Till date his body has not been returned to his family and his final resting place remains unknown.
