https://www.talkofnaija.com/images/house-help-girl.jpg Kenya:The other day, I got into an unexpected “open your heart” session with a friend on a car ride into town. For some reason or the other, he let it all out. He went on and on about his wife and all her faults. According to him, his wife of five years, does completely nothing other than watching soaps and doing her nails. She does not make their bed or clean their bedroom; she does not wake up to prepare the kids for school; she does not cook, clean nor iron. And the worst crime, according to him, was the fact that even serving food — prepared by the house help — is a problem, she whines and make him feel like he is asking too much from her. He claimed the maid does everything. As such, he was very hurt by his wife’s lack of interest to do ‘wifely’ things in the house, and thus, he was thinking about getting a second one. Apparently though, we have left the very dark ages and walked into bright and brave new modern world, men still prefer the ‘traditional’ wife. And thus if you are a woman in today’s world and you have plans of keeping a man, the truth of the matter is that you have no option, but to have some knowledge on how to carry out certain chores. Honestly, if you cannot cook or clean and you call yourself a wife, then of what good are you? Women, before you throw stones at me for being a traitor, let’s reason together. Look, men are never going to change unless you get a man from out of space or something. Gender roles are not all bad; they help to bring some order into this very crazy world. And anybody who dishes out oppression mumbo jumbo theory of how gender roles are oppressive and unnecessary is clearly living in a bubble. That kind of thinking is the reason we have men today walking around with an overly active tear ducts, tight pink trousers, and believing they can be house husbands. I had to express my disappointment in women who cannot cook or clean and believe being a home maker is a third grade job. All I am saying is that a woman should at least learn the art of home making — which entails cooking and cleaning. Reason being, if she cannot do the activities herself, she should be in a position to know whether whoever she assigned the chores to — the house girl — carried them out correctly. If a wife has to delegate duties, she must supervise and chip in where possible. If you are a wife and you are in the habit of leaving all the household chores to the house girl, don’t blame her when your husband turns her into his second wife. Men, at times, get attracted to women who care for them not necessarily those that love them. Feminist activism might be good and necessary, but the reality is, men prefer homemakers. It’s never negotiable, that much I know. The world has changed, and yes, we women are busy, but the day we hand over our homes to be run by house girls, let’s not cry foul when house girls become our co-wives. |

https://www.talkofnaija.com/images/Rev_Father_at_gun_point.jpg It appears we are truly approaching the much talked about end time. As you read this, a Catholic priest in Imo State is being investigated by the police after reports that he was illegally in possession of weapons. The Reverend Father is said to be in charge of a parish in the Dikenafai environs of the Ideato South LGA of the state. He is said to have threatened members of his parish and endangered their lives with three unlicensed guns believed to be in his possession, without approval. As a result of the Reverend Father's action, many are now afraid of going to the church. Crime Guard reliably gathered that the guns which include one pump action riffle, one double-barrelled gun and a locally-made pistol allegedly belonging to the priest were recovered from his official residence by operatives of Special Armed Robbery Squad, SARS, Imo State Police Command acting on a tip off from some concerned parishioners. Described as a very controversial priest, the reverend father was arrested and detained briefly but granted bail by the police following the intervention of some influential religious and political leaders in the state. Police sources said that the controversy surrounding the Catholic priest stemmed from a tragedy that occurred in January 2010, after the death of a prominent indigene of the area. Meanwhile, investigation into the case is ongoing by the police to ascertain the source of the guns and possibly the actual purposes they are being used for. The Rev Father may be charged to court after full police investigation had been concluded. |
A popular human rights group, Spaces for Change has called on the governor of Edo State,Adams Oshiomhole to change his approach to poverty alleviation in the state. This is coming weeks after the governor was video tapped telling a widow, Mrs Joy Ifijeh, a street trader to go and die. In a statement, the group said the incident showed a big disconnection between the governor and Edo state citizens. The Executive Director of Spaces for Change, Mrs. Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri, said though commendable, Oshiomhole’s gesture of offering the widow, employment and N2m after the incident was “clearly an afterthought, mainly designed to contain the mounting public censure.” “This Greek gift does not in any way address the bigger issues of widespread poverty and street trading in Benin City nor does it serve as an effective deterrent to future offenders. He should instead, seize the opportunity to rethink and redesign the state’s poverty alleviation approaches, ensuring that programmes and services that directly benefit poor citizens are put in place. The state should build on the momentum to develop social security and support-based programmes for enhancing access of low-income groups or individuals to credit or other economic opportunities,”she stated. She further said: “From Lagos to Port Harcourt, to Benin to the Federal Capital Territory, the development trends are similar. Elitist policies and programmes that make life unbearable for the poor are churned out every day, with emphasis skewed towards urban beautification even if it is at the price of massive social dislocation and suffering. The governors seem to derive pleasure from addressing symptoms of urban decay, but don’t give a damn about the causative factors.” |

https://www.talkofnaija.com/images/flavour-bad-black.jpg Flavour N'abania has claimed that he is still a vírgin. No doubt, Flavour is one of the Nigerian musicians that sing corrupt songs. Some of his weird lyrics are "Panti no na-iro", "Ara dara ada adago", "Ife bara aba abago" among others. However, Flavour in his recent tweet claimed celibacy. See his tweet below.... Guy,u need deliverance ooo.or better still,u can see ur pastor. |
fijiano202: there are 2 type of Vision,1 English Dictionary Vision 2 Biblical Vision.English Dic Vision is the ability to see and also mean an idea or a picture in ur imagination while Biblical/spiritual Vision is glimpse of the future,u can see thru dream or meditation, its may stand as a warning or reality,it may happen and may not happen. Prophecy and Prophesy are the same, they both mean to say what will happen in the future, its saying something that will surely happenif i don't get you wrong, you are trying to say both words are thesame |
Am so confused the way some pastor use or interchange this two words; "vision" and "prophecy". Are they similar?if No whats is the difference? |
