Life is not all about making money, safety of life matters, quality of life matters.

Life is valueless in Nigeria.

Even with the little money you are making and thinking you have arrived, you are not safe, your neighbor can wake up and kill you while trying to kidnap you out of envy of your little success.

Your security man can wake up and plan with robbers to rob and kill you and nothing will happen!

You spend hours on traffic due to bad roads, your life is depreciating if you don't know.

You run generator everytime, that's noise pollution + carbon monoxide air pollution that is reducing your lifespan everyday you put on the gen.


If you develop a serious illness, your life is at risk because no quality healthcare in Nigeria to take care of you and your loved ones.

SARS can stop one day on wrong identity or alcohol induced and label you ritualist or yahoo or armed robber and demand huge sum of money and if you try to explain they shoot you dead and nobody will question them!

Stray bullets can hit you from SARS or Police or cultists fighting with their rivals in your area or while you are out drinking or hanging out.

Don't discourage the poster not to travel out, if he can afford it let him relocate for the sake of quality life and that of his kids and future generation.

If Nigerians can reelect Buhari a woefully failed President, then Nigeria is doomed as a nation

Not that Germany is better than Canada.. They are both good and developed countries but you are more likely to get your visa easily when you apply for Germany than Canada.

Note, Germany is easy to get to, and you can go to any country when you are in Germany because it has the second world strongest passport compare to even Usa

One thing am sure of is that once you are born in Nigeria, you are forever a Nigerian. Even if you renounce the country, you can still come to Nigeria and collect passport with no hassle

School is relatively cheap. You don't have to pay anything apart from the money in the block account. They have very good record in education structure.

The weather and the accessibility to EU market plus Germany is massively industrialized which makes her have an edge over Canada

Germany is located in the centre of Europe. You can reach countless number of countries in a 2 hour flight.

Germany has research institutions than Canada and faculties in Germany are more well versed.

Lots of History, Architecture, ancient artifacts etc

All the same, it probably depends on who you are and what your values are. Both are among the best places in the world to live, and both share many qualities such as a commitment to liberal values, moderate fairly stable politics, etc.

If you are an immigrant, I would say Canada to be the better option. It is a county of immigrants and has large diverse immigrant populations. Germany is much more conservative when it comes to immigration, and pretty miserly when it comes to offering citizenship to non Germans. Germany's immigrant population is also much less diverse than Canada's.

Germany = Cultural exposure

I didn't mean wages and salaries in relation to living costs. I was talking about how the op would survive for the first few weeks (maybe months) after he gets there. 6 million Naira is a lot of money only in Nigeria. That's about 24000 NZD.
Again for the first few weeks, he will likely lodge in a hotel which is always quite pricey anywhere in the world.
When he gets his own apartment, he'll be required to pay rent which is on the high side.
Lastly, except the op has a degree from a globally recognized institution plus work experience (maybe), he might have to suppliment his educational qualifications with a certification from a New Zealand school. While this will likely be the same in other Western countries, the difference is that education in New Zealand is freaking expensive. If he decides to forgo "white collar" jobs, his wages would barely be enough to cater for the exhorbitant living expenses leaving him with very little (if any) savings which is crucial to everyone.
Bottom line is he will still need to supplement his livelihood from his current savings until he attains a certain level of stability, and NZ in my opinion, will gulp too much too soon.

Op, Canada is good.. I know someone who relocated few years back and she's doing well for herself. Just be prayerful because i hear Canada is becoming strict now.

New Zealand ke? Bad decision. Things are extremely expensive there. Rent is about 300 NZD (give or take) weekly. If you doubt me, check online rental sites. They are also far away from the rest of the world which makes food and other items costly especially if they are imported. Then factor in cost of air ticket to begin with.
It's a cool country from all indications, but it's not a great choice for someone relocating from a 3rd world country on a budget. Australia isn't that much different.

Australia pay more, so you tends to spend more because of that. Well, New Zealand is still better if the poster cannot learn any language but if he is willing to learn, then he can substitute New Zealand with Austria

Firstly, any country that you want to go, don't use agents or send anybody money, especially on this forum. That 6 million naira don enter their brain. Na to use conning ways to extort some money from you if not all.


Secondly, if i were you, i would look for one peaceful African country and establish business in the country. 6 million naira is a chicken change if you want to go to the USA. Some African countries have favorable conditions for business. Example is Rwanda

But if you want to go to first world country, i would suggest you choose either Germany, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.

There is swedish institute scholarship Si, though is very difficult to get. Also, universities do give out scholarship, they will reduce your tuition up to 75%. But you will pay the rest and take care of your living expenses while you study.

I however know few schools that give scholarships to international students.
