TravelRe: How Is Life In Poland.. by Hadampson(m): 3:41pm On Mar 11, 2020
Kimberly042:
For those in Poland, please how is life in Poland?..
Cost of living,Language barriers and things one needs to know before moving there..Coming there for greener pastures..
If you are looking for greener pastures, then Poland isn't the place to go but if you are looking for a country that can serve as a stepping stone to your dream country, then Poland may be the right destination for you.

Cost of living is quite moderate compare to some countries in western Europe like Germany. To know more about cost of living in Poland, search for numbeo poland on google, you will see an updated well detailed information on the cost of living in Poland

The official language of Poland is polish so for someone coming from an English speaking country, surely, communication is going to be difficult but i will advice you to try your possible best to learn their language, it will make you feel very comfortable when you get there.

Jobs are not in abundance there and the wage is not encouraging. My ex girlfriend confirmed it as well. That is why millions of polish people are scattered all over EU and North America. Teaching English language is what international students do in Poland. That being said, your student resident permit allows you to travel to all the 26 countries in schengen zone. Germany is not far from Poland, so you may extend your job search there wink

I once heard of a program for international students in Poland, it's called "holiday working visa" i don't know if it's still ON or not but if the program is still on, you can apply for it and get a chance to work in US or Canada during summer. Working in Canada or US will add colour to your CV and this may open a way for you to live and work in the US or Canada.

I wish you good luck

Prost.

Nairalanders are very funny, they call people bitter and angry yet they like to insult people. What does that make them?
I have been seeing you around this section and i believe you are not new on nairaland smiley

As you know, there is no selection process for determining who can get on the Internet, let alone Nairaland. The fact is that certain people are bound to drag their frustrations and hate to Nairaland. This great forum is full of different categories of people; good and bad but unfortunately, the good people are outnumbered by a great number of able-bodied teenagers adults that insult and abuse people for voicing their opinion.

Few years ago, I tried my possible best to pacify abusers on different sections on nairaland, thinking that they may be hurting over the hardship in our country but all my efforts proved abortive, so now i basically stay on my lane (If you like, insult me till Jesus come, i won't exchange banter with you)

To me, the insults and abuses are part of the things that make Nairaland so don't take everything you read here to heart.

My advice to you is that you should learn to avoid them; make your point to them, correct their ignorance and go, as they will be incapable of good reasoning no matter what you say and how you say it not that you will start exchanging words with them, that would attract many nairalanders who have phd in insulting people grin

Prost.

Chadian passport is better than Nigerian passport. With the passport, you have access to QATAR, SINGAPORE, Macau, Hong Kong etc

Your chance of getting US or Canada visa is high with that passport bro smiley

Please can you put me through how to get Mauritius or Botswana visa?
About Botswana visa, i would like to refer this website to you in which all the information you need is available for you.

If you still need further information just visit their Botswana High Commission in either Lagos or Abuja.

The website is: http://www.gov.bw/

As for Mauritius visa, they do not presently have an embassy or consulate in Nigeria at the moment but citizens of Nigeria can visit Mauritius without obtaining a visa prior to their travel. A visa on arrival will be issued at the port of entry

I hope this information will assist you ma'am smiley

10. Aachen, Germany
Rounding out the top 10 best small cities is Aachen, Germany. Sharing the border with the Netherlands and Belgium, this historic spa town is a cultural melting pot.
Known as the cathedral city of Europe, it has numerous historical buildings as well as the famous baths which sit over a hot natural spring, and with countryside all around, an outdoor lifestyle beckons walking frames, cyclists and boaties.

This is Germany, so the crime rate is low, and the infrastructure is good. Aachen has several highly regarded universities and, as one of six regional digital hubs designated by the government, a vibrant start-up scene attracting local and international tech talents. Rent per month is estimated at around €518 for a one-bedroom flat in the city centre, or €401 farther out.

9.Porto, Portugal
Porto, in Portugal, is ninth on the list, recommended as a “sprightly alternative to Lisbon”.

Apart from the usual attractions such as a pleasant Mediterranean climate, Portugal appeals to foreigners because of its Golden Visa programme, offering the opportunity for residency with property investment.

Upon becoming a citizen, residents obtain one of the world's best passports in terms of global travel, and the right to work anywhere in the EU/EEA (European Economic Area).

If you are prepared to buy in an older building in need of renovation, the required investment spend to apply for a Golden Visa is just €350,000, or €500,000 for a newer property.

8. Innsbruck, Austria
In eighth position is Innsbruck, Austria. As a tourist hub and university city, this alpine town offers a cosmopolitan lifestyle with restaurants, street cafes and bars making for a lively nightlife in the medieval central plaza. Expect to rug up, though. Winters are cold with heavy snow, which is a main attraction for skiers.
Non-EU citizens need to go through an approval process to buy property in Austria. Prices range from €171,000 for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom holiday-style flat, up to several million for an expansive home.

7.Bordeaux, France
Bordeaux needs no introduction – in addition to being a famous wine region, it is one of the world's most bicycle-friendly cities. Cited by Monocle as a relaxing alternative to Paris, the city is attracting young professionals looking to escape the capital's higher living costs – but it is still not cheap, compared to much of France.

In addition to quality of life, residents enjoy free health care, social care and government-funded primary education. Bordeaux International School is popular among expats as classes are held in English and French.

There are no restrictions on foreigners buying homes in France, but Bordeaux is the second most expensive place to buy nationally, after Paris. Rental for a two-bedroom flat costs around €721 to €902 a month.
