FIFA please don't increase world cup to 48 countries
you just said my mind, in fact if possible it should be reduced to 24 like USA 94,

mediocre teams should be eliminated at qualifications but with 48 teams there will be more of panama and co don't be surprised if you see srilanka and chad at the world cup and scoreline of 12-0

Phones / Re: Why Nigerians Are Not Allowed To Buy Smartphones On Contract. by HAH: 6:13pm On Jun 21, 2018
They do, but is just for secured category of people, after all some people are on postpaid tariff, I can remember back in the early 2000s econet and mtn were both marketing top bankers with then choice phones and postpaid services and I believe even today they do because cost of phone is nothing to those category of people.

So people working in blue chip organization have them but most staff don't want to be encumbered because of ordinary phone and the limitation of being used on only one network

Business / Re: Naira Gains As CBN Injects $210m Into FX Market by HAH: 9:40am On Jun 21, 2018
Proudlyngwa:

If we trade at 250, a lot of things that are locally produced will be affected as it will become cheaper to import. Also we will have a lot of substandard products as manufacturers will want to meet up.

Take fuel for instance, Nigeria has the cheapest price of fuel for countries around it, and that is with dollar at 360, with dollar at 250 fuel becomes cheaper and smuggling out becomes more lucrative.

Another question is if the price of crude which is the major source of dollar supply falls, how long will we be able to sustain it at 250 to a naira.
I just saw your response here, but the question is how did past government sustain it at lower rate, the present high cost of life is mainly due to high dollar rate, and have industries increased since naira was devalued ? Believe me it reduced. Government is there to alleviate people not the other way round , just imagine what $10B injected into our economy will do as against leaving it in an account in another country, one of the main reason the economy is slow is because of lack of investments, how many investors are we seeing this days, the only investors are portfolio investors who contribute little to the economy.

You said a lot of thing will be cheaper to import if dollar is 250, please can you mention just 3 I industries that thrived under this harsh condition, probably you will say rice , believe most of the things you see about rice is propaganda, I am a notherner and live in the north the so called local rice are only seen during launching by politicians, and even the figures of productions are exegerrated clearly they are not up to our demand.

Only a wicked father with live money in account while his family is suffering, a clear case of Buhari

Trade at 250 and watch the economy die

why ? we are learning here
Business / Re: Naira Gains As CBN Injects $210m Into FX Market by HAH: 7:11am On Jun 21, 2018
The naira is still undervalued, with current reserve of about $50b naira should trade around 250 at most, but the problem is the political will to do that, the least this government can do is to converge all rates at the same place, but a situation where some people get dollar at 305 while some get at 357 is rigged to favour some privileged few

Imagine the effect on cost of life if the dollar will be like 250 but as i said the political will may be lacking

Politics / Re: Buhari: I'm Not Ready To Meet nPDP Members by HAH: 3:02pm On Jun 19, 2018
BafanaBafana:

The only name they know in the north is Buhari.
The very people you claim are complaining will still vote for him. As a matter of fact, there is a subtle competition between kano, katsina and Bauchi state as to who will give him more votes.
Also Buhari will get more votes from the SS than he did in 2015 because the 95% to pdp and 5% to APC rigging they did will not work this time. The ruling party now has more presence there.
And yes, he will win in the SW and some NC states.

I am a northerner and I live in the north, I was also a stauch buharist prior to his ascendency to presidency and I am now very disappointed, you can check my post here of pre 2015.

I can tell you for free that the hitherto love for Buhari in the north has dwindled and many are even against him, and should PDP field someone like kwankwaso as its candidate those votes Buhari always boast about will be split, because people are suffering and it seems he doesn't care
Politics / Re: Buhari: I'm Not Ready To Meet nPDP Members by HAH: 10:15am On Jun 19, 2018
Na body go tell you insha Allah

Buhari has always won the NE and NW, so what changed in 2015, SW and NC voted him, now the question is will SW and NC vote him again ? As it is a large chunk of supporters even in the north have left him due to disappointment, I can bet he will lose the NC especially with saraki, fatai, ortom and large igala, tiv and idoma voter going against him

Whether Buhari likes it or not the nPDP is the largest bloc that contributed to his election in 2015, their exit will sure have a devastating effect on him, discount them at your own peril Mr buhari.

Even in kano should kwankwaso be PDP candidate be rest assured buharis votes will seriously reduce if not defeated , just come to kano and see how people are complaining about how wicked the present government is

In politics even a vote is important talk less of giants like the nPDP this tell you how deluded and dictatorial Buhari is

Your post is contradictory... undecided

USD is currently exchanging at about 1USD=Naira 360

You are suggesting an exchange rate of N250 yet you're saying the Naira is overvalued

The correct statement should be that the Naira is undervalued or the US dollar is over valued
you are right, thanks for the correction, the naira is under valued especially comsidering the fact that we have a reserve of about $50b

The only problem is the political will, as all it takes is a policy statement, or the least this government can do is to converge all rates in the same place, but a situation where there are different rates for different sectors clearly shows a rigged system, everyone should get the dollar at N305 not some privileged few

Yeah it will be great to see it. It will be a dream come true. I’m exaggerating in us being not alive in 2030. We have to see the result after 4 years to see the 2030 result. The total area of Canada, USA and Mexico is less than Africa.
the slow campaign should start immediately after this Russia world cup as the host of 2030 will be announced at Qatar 2022.

Cheers bro

It will be a great move but even it will be accepted, how many of us will be alive to see it?
it may be accepted considering the fact that the world cup will be of 48 teams from 2026 as you can see the world cup that year is between three countries USA, Canada and mexico, and you know the total land area of this three countries is as big as Africa if not more, we pray God gives us more days to witness 2030 which is 12 years from now, the only problem I see is finance and may be unseriousness from some African countries

The distances between the hosting nations will be too much for easy movements of both players and fans, it won't work, FIFA won't agree, hosting nations must have common boundaries
the distance from mexico to Canada is almost what I am proposing, so I don't think it will be a problem, as highest flight hour will not be more than 5 hours
Sports / Re: List Of Countries That Refused To Vote For Morocco To Host 2026 World Cup by HAH: 11:37pm On Jun 13, 2018
My proposal for African nations is to have a joined ticket to host the 2030 world cup.

A bid that represent each zone won't be bad like

Nigeria- West Africa
Morocco- north Africa
Angola- southern Africa
Kenya- East Africa

Or alternatively have two nation in each zone like

Nigeria, Ghana
Morocco, Tunisia
Angola, Zambia
Kenya, Ethiopia

The bid can be termed African, with proper marketing, conviction and planning Africa can host the world cup again. Remember also the world cup will be of 48 teams from 2026 and 80 games, so most likely the days of single country hosting it is over, it may be by blocs like what we saw today when USA, Mexico and Canada got the ticket to host 2026.

Africa can do it too

No senate has passed the number of bills, resolutions and motions like the 8th senate since 1999

There is no certificate called ordinary national diploma. What we have is a national diploma offered by polytechnics but ignorance on the part of the populace had made people to refer to such a precious certificate as ordinary. The national is not ordinary and as matter of fact the certificate is well recognised in industries.
just say you don't know, in the 90s and below ND was called OND, it was later changed to ND when the "ordinary" was removed hitherto we had OND and HND but now we have ND and HND. To confirm you can check old certificates or statement of result.

Politics / Re: Has Generator Been In Use In Nigeria Since 1988 ? by HAH: 10:35pm On Jun 09, 2018
I am in my mid forties and can tell you for free that even 1980 there were generators .

1988 was middle of ibb government when thing were really getting bad, as a matter of fact thing were relatively OK during shagari regime but since the military took over things became worst.

Power generation in the eighties was not much but our demand was also not high, there were power cuts but sometimes you can stay 48hrs before you see it so people don't really bother buying generators but as things worsened largely due to increase in population and demand for power increased as everyone has tv, AC,fridge, etc . but you will still see some elites houses with generator
