Jay Jay, that is not patriotism that is inability to learn and resistance to CHANGE. If you speak spanish in America and travel to spain and spent 30 years but never improved your spanisPh then you are only saying you are resistant to CHANGE and effectively equate yourself with the clueless, classless, and dumb President you are trying to impress, who by the way is loosing on Saturday. Nigerians know better, CHANGE is now inevitable, don't be left behind!

-CramJones
You are saying bulshit.. At a certain age, it gets very difficult to change an accent. So yes, if you went to Europe at similar ages of kanu and Jay Jay, you shouldn't lose your Nigerian accent. Most people just try to force it but they can't because they have passed that age of easy adaptation. Example is Mikel, you will observe his British accent is forced.

Victor Moses is a perfect example of someone who got to adapt to it easily and doesn't force the British accent owing to the fact that he left Nigeria at just 10 years of age, this is different from those that left at 20+ years of age, you can never lose your Nigerian accent at this age. This is something that is confirmed in linguistics.

Despite Gael Clichy and Alex Song being in England for years like Mikel Obi. I could still hear their french accent clearly yesterday at the el-classico studio of sky sports.

In fact I recently heard Asamoah Gyan and Michael Essien speak recently and they still have their Ghanian Accent despite being in England for long

Lol.. but Mikel Don dey speak am in just how many years grin

Actually it's more reasonable for this footballers who play to Europe to be understood to have foreign accent.
However all thus useless Nigeria celebrities in the entertainment industry who goes to Europe for 2 months and start forming their accent is just ridiculous. That's just downgrading of the African culture and shows their inferiority complex because it is very difficult for someone who is not a teenager to adapt to another accent at all.

Yes it's a sin. How do you think the person whose loss becomes your gain would feel?

As a Christian, should your gain come from someone's loss, sadness, regret and misfortune? When you gamble, you're actually praying for someone to lose money. (E good?)

Think about it.
Exodus 20 vs 17
"Do not desire another man's house; do not desire his wife, his slaves, his cattle, his donkeys, or anything else that he owns."
that's why gambling is not meant for everyone, not everyone would have the feeling you described above. There are other gambling that you may not be involved directly with people. So what's your point? You think Nairabet will feel bad that you won 17k from them? SMH

I'd be as blunt as i can, anything associated with uncleanliness/iniquity is a sin so gambling is unarguably a sin. Stay away from it and be just in all your ways then God will crown your efforts with success smiley
very illogical reasoning. Do you know how many good things you do that is associated with gambling? SMH

read proverb 28:20 which says 'a faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent'.....pls stay away from it
that is greed, it didn't specifically say gambling. Don't twist scriptures to suit your personal belief. Gambling is inevitable, you gamble too Mr man

Some things are not spelt out as sin in the Bible but from the effect those things have on your life spiritually or physically, you can know whether it would be pleasing to God or not.
It looks harmless and even enticing to go into betting (which is a form of gambling), but the problem is that you get addicted to it with time and it can take the place of God in your life because it will become your top priority.

Here is a case posted on this forum by someone last year. He says:
"My friend is very addicted to football betting. He spends most of his income on sports betting and he does not win. He is so addicted to it that he can spend his last penny on it. Many times he has confided in me that he will stop it but he still goes on to try it again and lose all his money. He is always broke and does not feed well. The sports betting is destroying his life. He wishes to stop and cut his losses. But he does not know how to overcome the urge. His family and loved ones don't know he is passing through it. How can I help him stop the sports betting because it's ruining his life."

From this story, you can ask yourself: Would God be pleased with this kind of life? Would He want you to waste your resources/money like that? Would it bring glory to His name? The answer to these questions is in the negative.

Therefore, as someone who wants to have a pleasing life before God, you should not go into it. Don't say 'I will do it just once" because that once will lead to another one until you are deep in it and your case will become like that of the man in the example above who I'm sure also started with the mind that he will do it just a few times.
Mr man gambling is a very broad term, sport betting is only an area of gambling. Gambling is addictive when you are getting the right benefit, this is not just a case of sport betting, it applies to investment too.

While I know greed Is not good, it doesn't mean gambling is a sin. Take anyway gambling from your life and you will see that you yourself cannot cope because a lot of things which seem normal to you involves gambling.

I remember telling a friend who said gambling is a sin that the "who wants to be a millionaire" he wants to partake in is a form of gambling but he didn't accept until I explained to him deeply.

The focal point is that greed and deceit should not be involved in our gambling as they are bad. But saying gambling in itself is a sin is pure ignorance as everyone gambles

Most of the things we do in life involve gambling of which all this holier than thou folks take part in too but they won't admit it is gambling. We all pool resources one way or the other as an investment to get a future benefit. In fact investment is a firm of gambling, however sometimes, greed is the sin and not gambling itself
