Now this is maturity speaking, unlike some children here who think a movie's popularity and box office performance are all that makes a movie great.

It's about parting the waters and examining the pebbles beneath.

Stop trying to act smarter than you are.

Everyone that loved endgame here on this thread is a big movie aficionado. No one here is arguing that only popularity or box office performance makes a movie great (although they are strong indicators). Stop telling lies to cover up your nonsensical opinions.

Fyi, the dark knight is my favourite superhero movie.

Religion / Re: 3 Things Making Blacks/nigerians Backwards by halalMACburger: 1:51pm On Aug 13, 2019
JackBizzle:

1) Religion
As long as black people follow foreign religions that have been used to enslave them in the past, we will always be mental slaves. Like it or not islam ultimately benefits the Arabs and Christianity the whites. GO to Jerusalem and see how black pilgrims are treated. Go to Mecca and see the difference between African pilgrims and Arab ones.

We are one of the most homophobic, sexist and ignorant races as a result of religion.

2) Survivalist mentality.
Just because you are alive doesn't mean that you are living. Poverty makes you focus on surviving and not living. You care about your next food or salary instead of taking time to look At art or do some philosophy on nature. You focus on yourself rather than the bigger picture of the community. You become so materialistic rather than perceptive. When a black man hammers, it is to pop champagne in the club, while the typical white man eats out with family and friends.

3) ignorance of our history (as a result of colonization)
If you knew that most powerful Christian churches and Muslims in the early centuries were supporters of slavery of Africans, would you be a Christian?

If you knew that your prophet regarded blacks as inferior would you follow him?

If you knew that your tribe or culture is older than Jews, Arabs or Judaism, would you claim to be descendants of Jews and Arabs?

If you knew that your tribes had inventions like sculpting techniques with bronze, hunting weapons, pottery etc, would you say that only the white and asian men could invent?

The rat only finalized a process of operation and 'dis-operation' of the time machine that has being going on for 5 years. If you've seen Ant-man and the Wasp by any chance you would know The Snap occurred at a time ant-man was almost pulled out of the quantum real.

A real human would have pushed one or two buttons to pull him out.

You think Endgame isn't "all that", its's okay. It's your opinion but a whole lot of seasoned movie lovers and critics thought otherwise that's why End is the highest grossing movie of all time (Inflation un-adjusted).

Oh! And this is just my own opinion.

Nice one.

Please dont mind her. She usually makes a lot of illogical movie reviews and then uses the "i am entitled to my own opinion" excuse when she is criticized.

No matter what angle you choose to look at it, a rat activating a very techy gizmo like a quantum machine is highly improbable and very silly, to say the least. There are instances where a rat can accidentally trigger occurrences, but not this instance.

Let's agree to disagree. I think Endgame is overhyped, unimpressive and doesn't match up with other movies I've seen, you think otherwise. Life goes on.

Because rats cant press buttons or the quantum machine exists in real life?

This is what happens when someone is clearly wrong and wants to use the "I am entitled to my opinion" excuse.

Common sense ain't common

So because he said the movie was over hyped every other point he raises becomes invalid

His other points were destroyed. Stop trying to pull nonsense

A cleaner rummaging through the enclosure sees a fancy gizmo and decides to play with it. It's more relatable than a rat pressing ONE button and doing the impossible.

Half the world's cleaners are dead in that timeline. And why would a cleaner be cleaning an abandoned storage facility?

A rat makes more sense than your cleaner theory because it is more likely that rats would be rummaging through an abandoned area.

You are just arguing for arguing sake. Common sense ain't common.

Haven't seen it. Curious though, so I'll probably see it next week.

Human Beings and their emotions!!

Dark Phoenix is a very good movie. The problem is that it had a bad timing. Spoilt movie critics and lay men just wanted something like avengers. If they had released this movie in 2020 or just before avengers, the ratings would have been higher.

To be released few months after avengers is to welcome failure. So many foolish fanboys were expecting avengers from xmen.

Back to the movie. The movie has better flow of action than Avengers endgame. I also like Magneto. Magneto will kill thanos in a heartbeat. grin

Xmen Dark Phoenix 6.5/10

Shazam is currently the last good comic book hero movie I have watched

I truly wonder when we are going to get something like Avengers again.

I remember going to watch the movie in the Palms Lekki. The tickets got sold out in my presence. When it was time to even enter the cinema hall, the place was packed. Even the ticket security man was thrown into the cinema hall by the sheer crowd.

I'm just reminiscing about good comic book hero movies before I go and watch the rubbish that is dark Phoenix

The name is Men In Black: International. The first two took place inside the United States.

People behind the franchise invited Will Smith to reprise his role, but he politely declined. Hemsworth took the spot he would have taken.

I expected this movie to be nonsense after seeing the cast and premise. I wonder if the world would fight a third war if these movie makers don't try to force one unnecessary idea or the other on the viewers.

I should have known from the trailer. Men in black was the first movie I watched in cinema as a child. Nostalgia forced me to watch this one.
TV/Movies / Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by halalMACburger: 5:20pm On Jun 14, 2019

It's a continuation of the franchise, not a remake.

How is that a continuation? No remnant of the earlier ones in terms of casting. The only thing they had was the Men in Black organisation.

Nonsense. Will Smith will be irritated by this rubbish.
TV/Movies / Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by halalMACburger: 4:21pm On Jun 14, 2019
Men in Black 2019.

This might as well be a kids cartoon. Nonsense of the highest order. Remakes are crap most of the time.

Perhaps, they fear being exposed. Dats y they cant tolerate critisms. If you have nothing to hide and nothing to fear, you wont be threatening bans on those who express their minds on what you call 'religion of paece', which is just self accclaimed and cannot be verified.

That is the simple truth

Sharrap. Go and ask about manmustwack and Jesoul. Those were mods loved by their religion section members. The best mods ever.

Those two guys will warn before banning. I have never been banned by either of them. When they warn, I listen.

We had a complaints thread where issues were resolved. These two mods were always reachable.

I know your type of mod. Arrogant and you think that you are better than the common nairalander.

And there will always be people who are sycophantic bootlickers of authority.

You are okay with such ridiculous moderators. Goodluck to you.
