Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. Regarding EB-2, does anyone have experience with or know someone who was successful in making use of a 100% remote job offer in the US for their EB-2 application, instead of NIW? Thank you |
Hi all. Hope you’re all doing well. I currently work in Operations, which is very much all encompassing and different job responsibilities of mine fall under different NOCs. Is it ok for me to pick an NOC of my preference and get my reference letter tailored to my job responsibilities that fall under that NOC? To clarify, I could go with NOC 22221 (User Support Technician) because I carry out responsibilities related to that in my current role. I could also go with NOC 41400 (Natural and applied science policy researchers, consultants and program officers) because I also carry out responsibilities that fall under that. NOC 22221 is eligible for OINP and NOC 41400 is eligible for STEM draw. Due to inconsistency in STEM draw I prefer to go with 22221 but just curious as to whether it’s fine for your organization to tailor the reference letter to mostly your responsibilities that fall under a particular NOC even though your broader responsibilities fall under multiple NOCs. Kindly note that all info on my reference letter would be truthful, it would just be tailored to and list the responsibilities that are relevant to the NOC I choose. Thank you |
phabulous88:Thanks for your response. It forms part of my 3 years work experience and is also important for me to get an ITA under the STEM draw, if one takes place soon. My CRS currently stands at 478. |
Hi all. I need some clarification, please. For my work experience, I know what documents I need to provide as proof for roles where I was employed as a full time employee, e.g reference letter, etc. However, from March to July last year, I worked as a freelance consultant for an organization (not as an employee) with varying number of hours for each month. I have my consultancy contract, invoices for each month and can show payment deposits for each month but I am unsure what a reference letter from the organization should look like since I was not an employee of theirs. Any idea what the letter should contain and if I need to submit other documents for this particular experience? Thank you |
Hi everyone. I hope you are all great. I currently work full- time remotely from Nigeria for an international NGO. The role allows me to work from anywhere in the world. It is actually a full-time employment and not freelancing/independent consulting. They are willing to provide support for my relocation, however it is a bit tricky. The only way I can think of that they can help is to assist in getting LMIA which I can use for my PR (I'm already in the pool). However, I have been getting conflicting responses regarding whether or not a 100% remote role would qualify for LMIA. Some licensed immigration consultants have said it would and others have said it won't. Has anyone had an experience with a similar situation before? To provide better context, they hire in any country through what's called an employer of record. So if I were to move to Canada, my contract would be moved to a Canadian employer. So on paper, I currently work for a Nigerian company (they manage my pension, tax, etc), however, I actually work for the NGO. The same would be the case for Canada i.e. my employer would be a Canadian company. Thanks. |
Thank you ![]() I submitted: 1. My employment contract 2. My payslips for July, August and September 3. Bank Statement 4. Accommodation booking confirmation (just added it because I already had it but I doubt it was necessary/made any difference) directonpc: |
Thank you. Got my passport yesterday and was granted the visa.Blessedsteph: |
Hi all. I applied for UK Visitor Visa (6 months). I submitted my biometrics on the 6th of October (last week friday). My application was transferred to the Decision Making Centre the same day and received there on the 9th (this week Monday). This morning, I just received an email saying my passport is ready for collection and sent out for delivery (I paid for courier service). I am a bit worried as I did not pay for priority nor super priority and it usually takes roughly 3 weeks to get a decision. The turn around time was super fast. I have not received a rejection email though. Anyone had this experience before? Thanks! |
Hi All. I have a little over 3 years of work experience and my CRS is 478. However, one year of my experience is that of a Graduate Trainee in a reputable organization here in Nigeria. It was a full time, regular job with multiple benefits such as medical insurance, life insurance, pension, bonuses, etc. The experience fulfills every work requirement by IRCC. My issue is it was a rotation program so I kept moving from department to department and with different responsibilities for every department I moved to. This makes it difficult to determine what NOC this would fall under and also makes it unlikely that I would get a reference letter from my previous employer that will be tailored to only a particular NOC. Other than this, I have everything else to prove the work experience, if need be (pay slips, pension account, bank statement, employment letter, etc). Please advise. Thank you. |
Hi All. Hope you’re all well. Anyone got invited for Ardova/Forte Plc aptitude test? Has anyone written it before? Any online materials to practice for such tests? Thanks! |
Hi all. I’m new here. Very informative thread. I have questions I’m hoping someone can help answer. Can one of the President’s aides assist in securing a job in places like PEF and PPPRA? If yes, how long would it take? Also, what’s the salary and allowances structure like at both agencies? Apologies if they’ve been answered in earlier responses and I missed them. Thanks! |
