You guys should stop differentiating between foreign investors and indigenous investors. The most popular tech and manufacturing companies that produce a wide variety of products in China are not owned by the Chinese such as Toshiba, Nokia, Samsung, Sony etc. The South west is enjoying influx of investments from investors because the region has been recorded to be the must productive and friendly region in Nigeria, they have Lagos state which brings the popularity for the SW.
Other regions have to revive their images most especially the east and the north. Most people believe that the east is insure that is why its natives do not invest there even though statistics have shown that the east is the most peaceful region in Nigeria, that is why I said we need to revive our image.

Indigenous investors are far better than foreign investors.

Take IVM for example, he is prepared to bend over backwards and even reorganize his whole operation just to deliver Anambra specification for that unique anambra need.

No foreign investor will do that.

Foreign investors should be focused in areas of technological exchange, that is areas we dont have the technical know how expertise.

See wat one person built in under a year alone.

If they come together, we can have this type of builing littered in Onitsha as office block.

Century power is owned by OnyeAnambra, if century power comes together with Orient petroleum, Anambra state government and other investors like capital oil, Enugu distribution company, seplat oil, atlas oranto etc, we will definitely achieve 2,000 MW in 3 to 4 years.

Why have the same investors refused to build power plants in Lagos, Ogun, Rivers and Abuja? If Anambra state generates 2000 MW all for itself today, Anambra will receive more investors than the entire country in just 2 years. Do you know the number of small scale industries that will grow at a fast rate because of constant power? Thank God the Onitsha port will become functional this year. Never compare the benefits of constant power supply to airports in Nigeria.

I am of the opinion that Power station should be built to serve Business zone.

Geometric power plants not state wide power generation.

Anything being built should be with investors in mind becos that is where the state will eventually generate revenue.

Anambra development strategy is the best in the whole Nigeria.

Anambra is growing in all sectors, from education to healthcare, industry to manufacturing, sales to factories and technology.

What we have in other states are mere beautification deception that are lacking is substance.

Anambra doesn't use its gas. Anambra doesn't have the biggest crude reserve in Nigeria. Other states also have human capital. Anambra state only has a retail market which many states also have.

You have to do more of rebranding the region to be economically viable for investors.

Yet Anambra revenue is far better than Osun State.

One thing you have to realise is that SW benefit from the proximity to Lagos and of course the oil revenue going round in Nigeria.

Today, 90% of all investment in Anambra are owned by Ndi Anambra and this includes the industry.

How many of the businesses and industry in Ogun are owned by Ogun people?

The Chinese company and other stakeholders were going to spend 2 billion dollars on that airport, don't you think it would have been better to use that money to build a thermal power plant or assist century power to complete their 2,000mw power plant in Okija, at least, Anambra has gas deposits. Anambra can also invest in a 500mw wind power plant which will not even cost as much as 2 bn dollars.

There are vital infrastructure that a state requires for success.

Cargo airport and passenger airport is such infrastructure.

We need operational Riverport and a Deep seaport either in Akwa Ibom or Bonny/Opobo Rivers.

Alongside good road networks/railway, u will discover that investors will even build your power plants once the area is accessible.

When you dont over burden the people with Tax, they will have money to spend on Big Business investing in the state.

e.g.

Shoprite wont have customers if Ndi Anambra dont have extra money to spend due to over taxation.

Shoprite will go into liquidation and close down.

The trickle down effect is more people become unemployed and unable to pay tax to government.

The watch word should be Big investments by Multi-Nationals partnering Anambra State.

This is the best way to generate revenue for State project.

We are not against taxing Ndi-Anambra but Government should not depend on Ndi-Anambra tax or over- burden Ndi- Anambra tax payers.

The Gov should be incorporated with Big Business and heavily involved in joint ventures and having Anambra State business portfolio.

I wouldn't say deceive but over ambitious. He has the will to do it but lets be honest Anambra do not have the financial strength to tackles all the infrastructural needs of the state. We need to increase taxes, that's the only way out. Our people don't want to pay taxes. There is no way a shop owner in main market should not pay up to 20,000 naira in revenue, monthly. These citizens are robbing the state.

We dont need to increase any taxes.

Wat is required is smart business moves by the state government.

We get in the right type of investors and then levy taxes, not placing burden on the already suffering masses.
