Over 6months that the supreme court gave the judgement,they have found it difficult to implement it despite the fact that they were the ones who took the states to court.

When we were telling people who dont know otherwise that this thing wont work and it will cause more problems than before they were saying otherwise.

Legally speaking, Trump and the DOJ have the right to do so, as any other defendant in a lawsuit, and the judges have discretion in granting/denying such requests.

However, this looks like a not so subtle ploy to discourage future litigation against the federal government because, for instance, not many plaintiffs would be able to pony up millions of $$ or even hundreds of thousands of $$ that could potentially be demanded by the government attorneys.

I get it. As long as it is Legal and the ball is in the hands of the Judges to either accept or deny such request. No problem then
