Very very false and misleading. When I saw it I just shook my head. Oyo for example added extra 3Billion wage bill monthly due to paying wage award. Started paying even before the FG started. 25K extra to civil servants and 15K extra for pensioners since last year up till date and the new minimum wage to take place next month.

Oyo even did a 22,000 new recruitment to its work force. If it is for civil servants,it isn't true. Maybe they reduced political heads or weeded out ghost workers.

I believe Punch should know the reason why the wage bill reduced. And also mentioning states like Osun,kwara and Zamfara as states that can pay salaries without federal allocation is totally false.

Yes you heard it right. It is the states that come to bail them out every month. As in every freaking month. That is the reason why since 1999 every state has been the one taking care of its LG. Before then LG used to owe salaries and pensions and everything..

The solution to this is let there be true restructing and the states in charge of their resources. In this way,they will be able to take care of the LG the more not all these giving LG stipends that cannot even take care of salaries not to talk of capital projects
