Some questions:
(1) Do you love her?
(2) Can you marry her?
(3) Do you see any future in the relationship?
Honestly answer these questions. Then you can decide for yourself whether you should go ahead and collect her gifts or not. its up to you.

For those of you that don't know, the Tivs have domineering attitude. In as much as they are the ones crying here, I can tell you that if properly investigated, it will be discovered that they probably started the crisis as it was said to be a reprisal attack. They (Tiv) always tend to dominate everywhere they find themselves. It happened between them and the Jukuns in Taraba. They claim that they own a substantial part of southern Taraba, comprising of Wukari, Takum, Donga, Ussa and Ibi. Can you believe that? I sympathise with them over what happened.

@Original Poster,
You think you can just sit in your parlour and divide a country or do that on nairaland. Please get a brain. When addressing issues of this nature, be very objective. Nigeria as an entity needs every segment of its constituents. The north needs the south and vice-versa. Every part of Nigeria has its peculiar challenges. Boko-Haram is to the north as militancy and kidnapping is to the south. You cannot just sit down and say the constitution should be suspended. How? Are we in a military regime? We can go on and on to mention quite a lot of things about our challenges as a country. Learn to to be optimistic than to be pessimistic.

NYSCMother Cries Out: ‘i’ve No Money, So Nysc Must Produce My Only Son’ by Harbb(op): 2:45am On Jun 12, 2011
The fate of five corps members, amongst them four ladies and a man who were kidnapped last Tuesday in Ikwerre local government area (home town of Governor Rotimi Amaechi) in Rivers state has so far been clouded by intricacies bothering on general underreporting by the media, concealment of their identity by the NYSC, seeming silence on the part of the presidency and the force headquarters in Abuja, insistence by the Rivers government not to negotiate with the kidnappers amidst threats by the abductors to use the victims for rituals if not paid N20m on each of the five corps members.

Faced by the situation, Mrs Jumoke Yusuf a Lagos based mother of the only man amongst the kidnapped corps members, yesterday cried out in a telephone interview with Weekly Trust, demanding that the federal government and the NYSC produce her only son, Olumide Akinwale Yusuf, male- 25, a graduate of Chemical Engineering from Lagos State University. Mrs Yusuf said she has remained terrified since Tuesday after a friend of her son called her and informed her that Yusuf had been kidnapped. She said the kidnappers called yesterday demanding that the family must pay N20m as ransom on her son or he will be killed and used for ritual.

“They called us and said we are wasting time and that if we don’t pay N20m on my son, they will flush all of them and use them for rituals, I told them I am a retired civil servant, I have retired 10 years ago, I am the one responsible for my only son, his father is not with us, but they just insisted on getting the ransom paid. Where will I get that money from? The federal government and the NYSC should produce my son alive that is all I need now” Mrs Yusuf said. She described as unfortunate, a situation where her son was taken away to a place he never visited in the name of serving his father land only to be kidnapped after spending so much on him and his personal efforts to become a graduate.

Weekly Trust learnt that the kidnapped Yusuf, the only person identified so far, was serving in a community secondary school in Omademe village in Ikwere local government area. He is scheduled to complete his one year service by next week when the batch ‘b’ 2010 corps members will be passing out. Yusuf hails from Lagos Island local government area of Lagos State. His mother said her four daughters served in the north: two in Niger state, the others in Nasarawa and Plateau states and none had problems except Yusuf who was posted to the southern part of Nigeria.

Mrs Yusuf decried what she called underreporting of the kidnap saga saying the issue has not been given the adequate coverage it deserves.

While the woman remains in agony, Weekly Trust reports that the Presidency was yet to make public pronouncement on the matter. The Rivers government has insisted it will neither negotiate with the kidnappers nor pay any ransom. Governor Rotimi Amaechi who spoke through Blessing Wikina, his press secretary said his administration has since made it a policy not to pay ransom to kidnappers. He described the kidnap as shameless noting that security agencies in the state are capable of rescuing the corps members. Amaechi also said keeping the victims will never attract ransom for the kidnappers and as such they should release the corps members immediately as they will soon be tracked down. The government noted that paying the ransom will always encourage more kidnaps.

The Rivers NYSC was yet to release the identity of the corps members. It was not clear what part of the country and states they hail from. Esther Chimele Wogbo, coordinator of the NYSC in Rivers state did not pick serial calls and didn’t also respond to a text message sent to her Glo line by our correspondent. The text message made enquiries on the N100 million ransoms as well as the identity of the corps members shrouded in mystery.

Some female corps members in Port Harcourt on Thursday expressed fears that the four ladies being held may be raped by the kidnappers. Though the corps members pleaded not to be identified in print, they expressed serious concern over the fate of their colleagues. They couldn’t also guess the identity of the five victims even as they raise concerns over the safety of other corps members across the state.

Rivers commissioner of police, Suleiman Abba didn’t confirm or refute the information about the N100 million demands by the kidnappers. He specifically said he had nothing to add after his Wednesday’s phone interview with our correspondent during which he confirmed that the five corps members were kidnapped and that the police was making high level effort to rescue them.

Weekly Trust reports that the corps members were kidnapped in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers on Tuesday night. It would be recalled that some Corps members were killed in some Northern states during the post election violence that rocked that part of the country. Scores of corps members from Rivers State serving in Bauchi and other states were evacuated and returned home while they went on procession to the NYSC secretariat in Port Harcourt demanding that they should be redeployed to serve in either their states of origin or within the south-south.

The Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITZAN), has deployed 500 witches to Abuja and other parts of Ahead of Nigeria to prevent any tragic occurrence and ensure peaceful inauguration on May 29.

According to its national co-ordinator, Dr Okhue Iboi, the decision was taken after an emergency meeting at Zuma rock, Niger State. WITZAN also warned President Goodluck Jonathan to take adequate security as bad people and disgruntled politicians are planning to cause problems.

Iboi, however, disclosed that the nation would soon have a respite from the people currently throwing bombs all over the places as they would be exposed: “We are going to expose those sponsoring bomb blasts in the country after May 29. They have been caged already. We are going to use our power to cause them to come out and confess their misdeeds. Nigerians would be surprised at how the saboteurs would be exposed.”

He said it was revealed to the witches as far back as last year that no other candidate except Jonathan would rule the nation. The association which also predicted the failure of both former military president Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and vice president Atiku Abubakar in their presidential quests also disclosed that Jonathan would serve his four-year tenure at the end of which Nigerians would be begging him to go for another term because he has been chosen by God to lead the nation.

Iboi, however, warned Jonathan to beware of sycophants, while warning the incoming ministers and advisers to co-operate with the president and discharge their duties with dedication. The witches warned former Head of State, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to stop wasting his time pursuing the presidency:

“Buhari should stop wasting his time because his time is past. He can never rule the nation again. His time is gone.” The incoming National Assembly will deliver. This is the time Nigerians will know that they have real legislators.
“Some people look at us as if we are evil minded people. Not all witches are bad. Our own type of witchcraft is progressive. We are willing to intervene in the affairs of the country anytime the government decides to seek our counsel. We have the solutions to bring lasting peace to the country. Witches and wizards in the country are ready to help restore Nigeria’s lost glory.

“We saw June 12 crisis long before it happened and we warned the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola but he ignored us. Abiola would have been Nigeria’s president but some of us decided to punish him over the role he played in scuttling the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo presidential ambition. We warned him not to waste his time and life. This was reported in some national dailies. We also dealt with the late General Sani Abacha for the execution of the late Ken Saro-Wiwa.”

Last week, when the Federal Government and, indeed, Nigerians marked the first anniversary of the death of the late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua, not many knew that for the family, there was not much to cheer about the former number one citizen of the country. This is so because he did not leave anything, in terms of material acquisitions.

For many, this will appear shocking, going by the positions Yar’Adua held. But it’s true. Yes, between 1999 and 2007, Yar’Adua was the governor of Katsina State. While in office, he was hardly in the news. The reason being that apart from his health challenges, he was not given to rabble-rousing or attention seeking.
After his eight years as governor, Yar’Adua became president in 2007. Even as president, he still maintained a low profile and austere lifestyle. All these are common knowledge. But what many may not know is that despite all the years he was in high public offices, controlling enormous public resources, Yar’Adua did not build or buy even a single house. While his colleagues were acquiring magnificent mansions all over the world, he was contented with the family inheritance.

Saturday Sun investigation in Katsina revealed that the late president had only one house when he was alive. The house, it was gathered, was a gift from his late elder brother, General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua. It is located in the Government Reserved Area (GRA), Katsina, near the Customs and Excise office.
Checks revealed, however, that while Yar’Adua did not build a house, his wife, Turai, acquired one when the former president was governor. The property, a white bungalow, located on Queen Amina Road, Katsina, is where the former First Lady and her children now live.

Sources revealed that before Yar’Adua died, some friends and associates, apparently scandalised that the president of the country did not have a befitting house, was building one for him behind Katsina Government House. The project, an elegant duplex, which is only waiting for fittings, was abandoned shortly after his death last year.

Those close to Yar’Adua told Saturday Sun that the late president’s simple lifestyle was legendary. Particularly, they say that he was not infested with the theft syndrome. They linked this to his background, having grown up in a family, where his grandfather and father, though comfortable, did not believe in excessive wealth.

It was gathered that when Yar’Adua was governor, he could hardly be distinguished from ordinary folks. Top government officials in the state, who worked with him when he was governor, revealed that the late president used to stroll out of the Government House to maitaba (cigarette shop) to buy Benson and Hedges cigarette. They said that he would light the cigarette and smoke leisurely, as he returned to his office or residence.

Offering insightful perspectives into Yar’Adua’s life, a former aide, who wished to be identified simply as Alhaji Bako, said: “When he was governor, he used to send his caps for re-treading, due to old age. Rather than buying caps all the time, which he considered a waste, he used to send his worn caps to be refurbished. He was that sort of person.”

Bako also said: “At the time Yar’Adua started to campaign for the office of president, he did not have more than 10 pairs of babanriga. It was a Katsina businessman, who sewed dozens of babanriga and gave to him. Even things as ordinary as clothes meant nothing to him.”

Better open up to these girls (fiancee and girlfriend) and tell them the truth about your relationship status. For God's sake why would have a fiancee and still be keeping girlfriends (don't know the extent of the closeness anyway). But my piece is this: Keep to your fiancee, be sincere to her and register her number or else you are on your way to becoming a cheat even when married.
