You also need lots of books with very clear pictures.He needs to be able to identify all the everyday household items in these books,make it a habit to always point out the items to him in your most animated voice to make it very interesting.reward his every attempt and always explain everything you are doing as you do them.My daughter is 25months ols,has not been diagnosed yet (she has some of the redflags),but with lots of talking and explaining to her,i have noticed in the last 2 months a massive improvement,she can identify and name almost everything i show her,even action (who is sleeping,dancing,walkin,crawling,waving etc) and has started following instructions .She is about resuming an autistic school this month,where she will undergo intensive therapy while i continue at home of course.All is well ,if you give an instruction and he does not seem to get you,direct him and show him what you mean.He will pick up in no time
