PrinceAdeAde: No,it is visa on arrival and it is stamped on your baby's passport as soon as u arrive. This is returned to you immediately Thank you. |

PrinceAdeAde: Hello All,
Thanks for the information and support. My journey ends here. Just some tips based on my wife second US birthing experience 1. You need two valid means of identifications(preferably driver's licence & international passport) to process and collect US docs(Birth certificate,US Passport). My wife licence expired before she traveled and she forgot this requirement so it was not as straightforward as her first experience. Alternatively, you can use work ID or any US resident to identify you.
2. Visa on Arrival is way cheaper and hassle free than it is made to look(the only cheaper option on the long run is if you are in atlanta and go for the baby nigerian passport). Just send a mail to oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng requesting for one using the format shared previously on the forum and you would be responded to early enough. in my case,I got a response the same day and please do it yourself and dont pay any processing money. You only need to pay the actual application fee to immigration which can be made on arrival($180 using card and $190 using cash though. Surprisingly,my wife mentioned they did not even look at any letter at Lagos Airport to give our baby the visa. Note that houston immigration requested to sight the actual email so you may want to keep your phone and email handy to avoid complications
Am always available on PM to assist with any further information.Good luck to all expecting mums and Dads. God Bless Pls is it true you have to drop baby's US passport with immigration @ d airport if you use visa on arrival and go back for it after you have gotten baby nigeria passport? |

My friend that used them last month was given a quote of 1800 and paid 900 after several battle. So prepare like 1000 for them. Uhmmmmm, thank you very much. |

I knw d intent letter is no longer relevant but still want to clarify best way out of dis situation. My sis got her visa in 2014 while schooling in uk and single but was not able to use it before she left uk and wen she came back in 2015, there was no time to go due to settleing back @ work. She got married, is pregnant nd d visa will expire dis august. She is due in july.
1. Can she use it for birthing? Considering she was not pregnant wen she got it
2. Or just do visiting cos she tinks not even usin it at all can jeopardise d renewal. |

olayoife: Hi guys,
i have been reading about this topic and forum for sometime and my wife shared some before we had our baby in Texas. But what surprises is that people hardly talk about midwife birthing and i wonder why.
Midwife or Water birthing is cheaper for non complicated pregnancy, non first borns etc The good thing about it is the midwife clinics are linked to some specialist hospitals incase anything happens but you only use it if you are sure your pregnancy is not complicated.
My wife did not use it because pregnancy was complicated but had wholesome information while trying to look for something cheaper but the hospital we used was quit ok in terms of price.
My advise for those having babies abroad, have seen threads where people say no need to carry out test due to cost, PLEASE!!!!!!! DO THE TEST, what is the point of spending $7,000 to give birth and you cannot do a $150 test? or what is the point of having the child under sophisticated equipment and you bring the child to naija to come fix hearing problem or jaundice or any other child birth issues, when the child can even be fully attended to. Infact once you child is fully registered as a US citizen he begins to enjoy benefits. SO HELP YOUR CHILD AND HELP YOURSELF.
Cheers.... Can i get this info on birth centers pls. I av really looked wit out any tangible info. Even google tired. Den u gathered some states do not av. Pls will really be glad if u can give me more on it. My email is harisoglad@yahoo.com |
