dannyboii1: Bro am an indigene with 251 jamb and 310 postume... But still isn't admitted.. And i know those with lower score admitted through runs. People always say there are poor during housemanship
Nevertheless I also applied again this year shaa
Are u a student there the only neurosurgeon from south south finished from unical. poor during housemanship.??. I don't get you. bro don't allow people confuse you from making decisive choice.... as for the admission, next time try to shoot above the merit cutoff to be on a safer side.. Success in advance! |

dannyboii1: Hello medics....
Am a medical aspirant from cross rivers state... Should I apply unical or uniport... I will have higher chances at unical cus am an indigene but the problem is unical has a very bad reputation and no strong alumni... And pple say their medical students are not that bright Hearsay!! do you wish to settle on what others are saying concerning a school and lose your chances of being admitted? what's the authenticity of your claim by saying a school got no bright medical students? have you met them one on one to experiment on your hypothesis?? The same "school" some people tend to belittle are producing high flyers, got top lecturers and moreover sound and equipped medical facilities... if the school isn't of standard as said, why do you think you can't go there and outshine others? All medical schools in Nigeria use same syllabus .. level of intelligence is dependent on the individual and not school.. Others equally say OAU, ABU and some top medical universities got bad omen when they don't actually got an inkling about the standard of these schools. if you don't wanna waste more years listening to "good and bad" school then do the needful before regret becomes inevitable.. Stop the "Hearsay" I reiterate! |

sk2p: Happy weekend to yall Dis my story....... I got admitted to biochemistry in delay at my 1st attempt @jamb and I took it graduating with a 3.49(2.2). I was discouraged from applying to DE and started working, years down d lane working in an hospital. I discovered I will never b happy if I don't study medicine so 2016 I decided to start over, applying for Ijmb and I got 14points. 2017 I started my msc biochemistry just not to keep my brain redundant. I applied thru DE to uniabuja and I remember asking several times for opinion on did forum and no one would respond to my post. Praise b to God.... I just got admitted to mbbs uniabuja DE 2 200level. My comments go to dose aspirants day post inquiries and get no reply, don't give up....... Uniabuja mbbs all d way congrats doc.. Welcome to da club.... |

Jeemy99: .
What dept were you admitted in biological sciences. If BCH or MCB you may change to medsurg if you have good connection + high G.P not less than 4.5. PSB and ZEB have a very slim chance of changing to other depts, sometimes they select only the best performed student or through voting. Though, students with long legs ( connection) do have their ways.
I advise you pick a jamb form as you work towards accumulating high G.P if truly you have passion for Medsurg. Back then in 2015 I had same intention of crossing to medicine, I had much trust in my self that my G.p would t not be anything less than 4.5, I was told to buy jamb form but I did not welcome the idea. I would have Been in 200lvl MBBS by now had I listened.
MBBS is a calling, you answer to it anytime you think you can. Despite the fact that I'm in 300lvl Bch UNN, I'm still waiting for unical to release their second admission list because I got higher than their cut off point for MBBS but yet to be admitted.
The decision is yours bro.. Whichever way, make sure you're focused.
God bless you. Keep checking your caps and the school's site daily. more names are been uploaded. as far you meant the merit cut off, just be hopeful.. |

coalray: pls still waiting for a reply .. I think the higher the CGPA, the higher your chance of getting admitted.. a lot of persons are competing for same course with a very high CGPA, some with a first class sef .You need a good CGPA to enable you shoot... Moreover never neglect the God-factor... but if u really want med surg I would advice you take jamb along side with it.. that will give you 90% edge over DE... |

PharmJohn88: Thanks a million, bro.! I've hitherto often had this deep-flowing drive to be a medic. This was perhaps ignited by the ills I've had to battle in my own health, those of my family members, and most importantly the poor dying in my very before as a result of inability to afford medicare. The plan was to start with Pharmacy and later switch to Medicine, 'cos it seems cheaper to start from there. But now, it's medicine straight. Thanks bro.! success all the way Bro... Read as if you have never prayed; and pray as if you have never read... It shall end in praise... We are waiting for your testimony!!! |

PharmJohn88: A thread like this has existed for so long the years and I am just getting to know? I was flabergasted seeing (0)...(502)... My mouth was agape... Though I haven't gone through the pages word by word, I want to confess that the love, unity and togetherness I've found among medics and their fellow aspirants is second to none. Not even in the Pharmacy I'd earlier aspired to study... you give out your all's to see freshers through the hurdles... thumbs up guys! For this reason, since Uniuyo has refused admitting me to study Pharmacy with UTME score 251, I wish to go for Medsurge. But how can I make it without your guides? Please drop your catapultable tips here to help me see it to fruition... I want to make from 350 up this year... Help a junior aspirant... Thanks! Nice one Bro... but you must first understand the concept and ask yourself these questions..what do you really want?? is it pharmacy or medsurg?? and what's my purpose of venturing into this course? not until you ar e able to answer these questions; you won't be able to get fulfilment.. If pharmacy is really what you desire then go for it. why not push on! nothing should make you change direction if you know what you want.. The best motivation you can get is the motivation from within.. others are secondary., not even because of the reception from other colleagues in the field.. be yourself, be focus, and don't allow anything change your bearing. #TeamMbbs #Unical |

lomaxx: Ok this is what I'm gonna do I'm gonna categorize all thr soft copy links from preclinical to final year All the books you're gonna need Both Indian and others. You heard me right- Indian books. -You can have Vasudevan, Charteajea , Sembulimgam , Harsh Mogan all in clean soft copy. So drop your mails while I find start work.
May I use this time to say that as a medical student, a tablet is a must-have. You need it. If you have money, buy an iPad, bcause the battery life is flawless. The iPad 4 has a battery capacity of over 11,000 mah. If you're just using it to read without browsing, you could go for 4days without charge.
If you don't have money so much, buy a good tablet with a decent battery life. Tecno pads have decent battery life. Samsung too.
With a tablet you can have so many books at your disposal. Instead of buying one book and being limited, you can have as many as 4. It gives you an advantage over ur peers. And best if all, you can read anywhere.
Good luck guys. I'll get back to y'all. okolochukwudiharrison@gmail.com thank you sire |

zippopo: Hmm see this thread sha..... Almost all science students want to read medicine... Don't tell me it's passion abeg, because most people are irritated by the sick and old.... So why are they so many people instrested in it? You should have seen the headline first before commenting.....MEDICAL STUDENTS THREAD..meaning all docs or aspirants of medicine are expected to be seen here.... Other depts have theirs..... so whatever dream each and everyone decides to pursue its up to them...be it whatever you call it, passion, ego , finances or otherwise, its their choice and life... |

STORM2: I've been following you for a while. I sincerely wish you all the best. Do not let anyone discourage you. They'll tell you that they're being rational all the while discouraging you. Telling you to do a PhD instead and all that. Ignore all the noise. Just stay focused. Your service year is more than enough to prepare for jamb and direct entry. It's the same type of questions. Answer all the jamb past questions you can find from 1988 to date. Apply for both jamb and direct entry. You must not school in the west. Don't limit yourself. God bless you dear. You'll do well. Well said Dr. storm2... thanks for those suiting words towards that dude.. also I still believe finances shouldnt be a hindrance to one's pursuit towards his/her dreams... ideas and rational reasoning also plays a major role.. some persons aren't financially stable before venturing into medsch but I tell you a lot of them are now sending money homes from multiple scholarships they acquired... your dream first |
