Valthegreat: It all depends on how the judgement pans out, if Fidelity is to pay #35b that can't scratch their financials much, a quarter's PAT can handle it. But if they are to pay #225b as being alleged from some quarters that may wipe out their full year 2025 PAT and will significantly affect their share price. So brace up for #10-12 if that second scenario is the case. They can convert the debt to equity at a discounted rate if that would be acceptable to the judgement creditors and CBN recapitalisation framework, otherwise na gobe |

Picky1: Bros, what FIDELITY did is called transparency....refuting bad press from an unscrupulous journalist quoting an unnamed source in a very sensitive matter! Unreasonable journalism can bring down the stock market due to domino effect - everyone starts running without knowing what the problem really is. Anyways we see how it all pans out! NB: I have FIDELITY in my portfolio
The right thing for Fidelity Bank to have done after the Appeal Court judgment was to transfer the judgment debt into an escrow account whilst pursuing the appeal at the SC. As it stands, the longer the bank engages in prevarication under the guise of seeking Judicial interpretation, the bigger the debt becomes because it will continue to attract interest 😀 |

Locotrader: If you want to get Access bank below #20, place your order with a price limit this night. Check the closing price and minus the the dividend which will be marked down tomorrow morning.
If I need Access, this is how I will pick it at a better price tomorrow but I don't play big banks. Tomorrow is dividend payment. The SP has already been marked down at QD hence your advisory is not applicable. |

Should we instead chat about the weather? He is not promoting the Elijah Lake, he only mentioned his pick and by the way, he doesn't need to convince anyone else apart from himself, about his choices. Our life choices are personal. |

emmaodet: WHICH NIGERIAN BANKS PAY THEIR STAFF THE MOST, AND THE LEAST, IN 2024?
As inflation persists and the war for top talent intensifies, Nigerian banks are responding in markedly different ways when it comes to employee pay. Nairametrics has analyzed the 2024 financial reports of 9 listed banks, and the findings reveal sharp contrasts in how banks structure compensation. From executive-heavy organisations to lean branch-driven models, each bank’s strategy is reflected in how it pays its workforce. Is contract staff included? |

starpower: Why does it feel like people only post their wins? Like losses don't exist in the market? Let’s be real—stocks go up and down. Universal Insurance was around 80 kobo at one point, now it's hovering around 50 kobo. Prestige Assurance? It was about ₦1.30, now closer to ₦1. Even the big guys aren’t spared—Dangote Cement has pulled back too.
People need to understand that risk is part of the game. In a real bear market, a lot of folks will panic and disappear—never to return. But that’s when opportunities often show up.
Take Beta Glass, for example. It underperformed for about 3 years. I first bought it at ₦57 back in 2022. It dropped as low as ₦36—I added more around ₦38. Why? Because I was focused on the business, not the noise. It was trading below book value, and this is a company with monopoly-like strength in its sector.
Consistent, average returns over time aren’t easy. But that’s what real investing is. This isn’t a get-rich-quick game—it’s long-term wealth building, and sometimes that includes holding through the tough seasons.
