This will be good if it's true

5 for 2 or 2 for 5?

AFRIPRUD currently have 2bn OS
How many will this translate to thereafter?

If it's 2:5... 2bn + 400m = 2.4bn ....this looks small

If it's 5:2.... 2bn + 5bn = 7bn

If its 1:1.... 2bn + 2bn = 4bn

Hope my Arithmetics is correct sha
We're awaiting the Corporate Action.......😊
With 2.0bn OS

2 for 5 will bring the OS to 2.8bn
5 for 2 will bring the OS to 7.0bn

This thread is funny 😀. When it comes to debates about our political economy and the effects of Tinubu’s policies on the general economy (which even includes the stock market), we are quickly told that we are derailing but I have been reading several pages of Putin, Russia, NATO here. While that also relates to oil prices and the economy, the previous debate especially on policies affecting the naira was on topic as well, or wasn’t it?
If people can be at each other's throat because of faraway Ukraine and Russia, what they can do to each other is best imagined in a political discussion on Nigeria 🇳🇬

If you don't trade in a day, you can only lose 20% max but can gain 40% if you buy at -20% + Opening Price and sell at Opening Price + 20% .
It works both ways.

You can also enter a stock at opening price plus 20% while it closes the day on minus 20%. You have lost 40%🤣

This is for newbies and those that want to build their NETWORTH...

I've been investing in this market since 2006. The attached is a section of my INVESTMENTS and their percentage yield and naira yield on each unit. My entry for HONEYWELL is below #1. Many times you have to look for stocks with potentials and invest there when they don't have the numbers yet... Most times I buy rich potential stocks when they are completely abandoned and guess what they always give me good fortunes just a matter of time. Go and load up NB now after doing your own due diligence

INVESTMENT is really a calculative game. You have to know what you want from this market. Grow your NETWORTH patiently

I have other accounts for GAMBLES (JIJO) sha grin I only gamble with free funds responsibly

No need to tell me that I pray and hope in vain because that means you are cursing my prayer! This may lead to reactions and counter reactions.
Some of you guys don't understand how to debate in a public forum, hence you make debates to degenerate unnecessarily! .

I have much of Oando but I still pray and hope Tinubu loses the 2027 elections. Investments and the financial markets require a president/govt that would be very meticulous with good economic policies that ensure macroeconomic stability. To hell with nonsense.
If Oando is not able to show positive recovery between now and 2027, I will rebalance my portfolio.
Even right now, I have plans to sell some units after the first and second tranche of the share redistribution and then let's see what happens to the rest .
"Pray and hope" in vain.

In a dramatic turn of events, a team of security agencies stormed the headquarters of Access Bank plc on Wednesday morning to execute a Bench Warrant issued by the Lagos High Court for the arrest of the bank’s CEO and Managing Director, Bolaji Agbede, and other senior officials. The arrest order came after the accused failed to appear in court as ordered in relation to a case involving serious charges of conspiracy, stealing, and attempted theft.

Better to have a focus as a new player in the sector, as you make profit you diversify into other areas.

If not the might end up being a jack of all trades master of none
The standard farming practices is to plant food crops with cash crops in the initial stage, as a form of protection for the cash crops and as the cash crops grow, you stop the mixed cropping.

Not based on technical or financial capacity. How the core investors embarked on asset stripping in order to service the loan used in buying the shares.

The foreign founders of the companies could have been retained as technical partners
The concept of a core investor is not a bad idea if done within a proper regulatory framework.

A core investor can be limited to 25% share ownership with a ceiling of say 40%.

Democratising share ownership is a no brainer because you can not force unwilling people to become shareholders. Even if you are able to do that, you can still not force them to not sell the shares eventually which will defeat the objective of democratisation.

For example, if you decide to democratise wealth by sharing money to everyone, how long do you think it will take before the money return to the wealthy🤔

Good day House,

I am a newbie in the stock market and I have been following thread for a while now, I would like to thank all my ogas for the enlightening insights and discussions you have all been providing.

Please I would like to enquire if insurance stocks and Chams are still a good buy?

I would have loved to buy Aradel but I do not have the financial muscle for it so I would appreciate any good alternative to Aradel and any good stock recommendations you all can offer as I am still learning the ropes of this market.

Thanks a million for all your help and support.
If Aradel is your top pick, you don't have to buy thousands of units, you can buy just a single unit if that's what your financial muscle can buy.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Harvestock01(m): 10:19am On Jan 20, 2025
Oando going ahead to cancel the entire shares that was pledge for the loan would have been a more straightforward solution rather than all the needless controversy that have been generated.

Obtaining shareholders approval at an AGM or EGM and thereafter obtaining SEC approval before going ahead to actually cancel the shares. This will have a more positive impact on the shareholders as the share price will firm up and the financial ratios will also improve.

Anyway, let's enjoy the show by the evil genius.

Custodian will fly when the CBN grants the final approval for the FBNQUEST Merchant Bank purchase. It hasn't done badly though
My pick is not a very popular one. It was 3.70 when my GA flashed it. I got in at 4.65 but it closed today at 4.25. I hope to get some more Afolabi units by January ending if it's still available within my range.

I hope this helps?

For 2025, my investment focus will be on listed companies that are currently undergoing or recently completed a restructuring (debt, business, acquisition, merger etc).

Please if you are aware of companies that qualify as such, kindly point them out and dd is on me.

If BAT wait for conditions to be right, no reforms will be implemented. In Buhari's 8 years how many times did Dangote postpone launching of his refinery? A refinery that was supposed to start operating by the end of Buhari's first tenure?

BAT understands this terrain very well. Scatter everywhere first then we will arrange it back. People fail to realize that some cabals were benefiting from the status quo and will do everything for those conditions not to be met
