How can you use FA or financial statements to dissuade those who never based their investment decisions on such in the first instance? You will explain tire. |

That is why atheists are very active on Naira land religion threads Challenging another man's religion is most often a waste of time. |

He is the author of "Active Value Investing" and other books.
He is a Professor of Finance and a disciple of Warren Buffett
Oando fits the description of what he wrote in that article If Oando is a religion, there's little wonder you are one of it's adherents otherwise why would you devote so much time and energy. Let go. |

This Oando 2023 financial results will either stem the tide for Aradel SP or accelerate the bleeding. There's a massive opportunity for bagging big profits in between the two, only for the discerning.
There's also a big opportunity for unending analyses and bickering 😉 |

jonnysessy: Paid serious school fees with this Aradel. The share was over-hyped before it was listed. The marketing managers did a good job, why list a share at about N700. It is now losing 10% on a daily basis. Some even postulated that it will get to N1000 before the year runs out. I actually don't see this happening. How do you start averaging on an expensive stocks ? It is easier averaging on penny stocks. Even payment of interim dividend no help the stock. Well, in stock business you gain some and you lose some. But, we would be there to see how further down it can go. Averaging still remains the only option. That will continually happen till a good price is achieved. In stock market learning is a continuous exercise. Experience they say is the best teacher. I guess from now i just got to stick with stocks i know for long and maintain them, than all this flash in the pan. After reggae na wetin? Seller beware. |

emmanuelewumi: You can't be logical with emotional people, you can't be rational with sentimental people.
It is always better to play along by acting emotional and sentimental Every human being is an emotional animal - fear, sadness, anger, disgust, surprise, amusement, gratitude, anticipation, contempt, enjoyment, love, pride, awe, envy, frustration, happiness, joy, shame, irritation, boredom, disappointment, empathy, calmness, doubt, delusion etc are all emotions. Without emotion, man is nothing. |

olig: But this is not the case Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited. You have to provide utility bill that bears your name. I am technically stuck with them because of that. Unfortunately, I can't even sell my holdings or withdraw. After opening the account it was dormant in less than two months, without notice. They are now telling me that I should provide a Stanbic bank account, etc. I still don't have their time yet; I don't have much there. My old certificate that I want to demat are also with them for close to three months now. They kept pushing me here and there. Your bank statement is an acceptable PoA. Send a printed copy to them. |

jonnysessy: Good morning everyone,.... . In fact, the latest I hear the other house is requesting is my utility bill. Unfortunately, I am not the owner of the house and the utility bill bears the name of my landlord.
But, if anyone can be of help here, I won't mind....
I am very sure someone here will give a hint how I can get my shares back from this broker. Nigeria is different from the "abroad" where the utility bills have to be on your name as a PoA. In Nigeria, the utility bills need to only reflect the address you have provided in your contact details. Get the utility bill from the address and send to your broker. That shouldn't be a difficult thing to do. Please don't give up, you are closer to the finishing line than you think. A worst case scenario is to sell your entire stockholding with this broker and move on without looking back. |
