My grandfather told me how this practice wiped out an entire community in pre colonial times.

The community were whiped out by diseases well known today and with cure but unknown and without cure those days. They didn't die because of that practice of arming a dead person with weapon which is very useless.

In pre colonial period diseases such as malaria, flue, yaw, etc killed millions, while they attribute it to spiritual. What we call older people were actually suffer, they mostly didn't live up to 75 years then.

Life expectancy have risen and people grow more older now than before. That's the reason population is rising. Children under age no longer die young or at birth.
