The Man of God gives you the feeling of being a stage production, and when you see the name behind the production and direction, you understand this. She approached it from the view of being a stage play, with beautiful costumes, larger than life conversations, and over the top acting. The locations are lovely, incorporating some stage production elements into the movie.

The story is a Nigerian production of the prodigal son from the Bible, and there are no new thoughts, no new dimension to the story. It however highlights all the criticism of the Nigerian brand of Pentecostalism. I would have preferred a more original story or a new twist to the story from the Bible. With such basic material from the Bible, one would expect a more elaborate presentation.

One of the feelings I get from watching it is a sense of the movie being rushed. The timelines are jumping, with no significant growth in the story arc or staging of the actors. Akah Nnani is a very good actor, and he embodies the role of the man of God who eventually milks the role he despises, based on trauma he suffered from his teenage years.

Osas is not a great actor; she is a passable actor. But one of the major issues I have with her is her refusal to drop her American accent. This is a wholly Nigerian context movie, and there is no backstory of her living in America, yet she speaks with an American accent throughout the movie. Accents can be learned; we have seen American actors learn new accents to be authentic in their roles.

I think this movie would have been better as a stage play. As a movie, it leaves a lot of loose ends. We don’t see the transitions between the eras, ages, and positions in life clearly.

6. Low testosterone

Nigerian singer, Aituaje Iruobe popularly known as Waje, has disclosed that she is ready to marry any man that sends fuel to her.

This comes amid the fuel scarcity in the country that has led to long queues at petrol stations and hiked transportation fare.

Nollywood actress, Victoria Kolawole has taken to social media to lament after being duped by a supposed fan while trying to buy fuel.

The thespian said she went to a petrol station to buy fuel but there was a long queue as a result of the fuel scarcity in the country.

She said while she was in her car, an innocent looking man approached her and introduced himself as a fan of hers. He then offered to buy the fuel for her.

It is dated as back as 2014: Ukraine, Russia, and some other countries in Eastern Europe happened to be peaceful neighbors and part of the same “Soviet Union” until 1991.

On December 26, 1991, the “Soviet Union” split and shared amongst themselves treasures, nuclear weapons, missiles, etc.;

Thus, every country goes their separate ways and is on its own.

Russia received a more significant portion of the shared properties; thus, making them become the 2nd Most Powerful Country in the World, 2nd in the global firepower ranking, and the Most Powerful Military Power in the World.

In essence, Russia became stronger than Ukraine. There are likely 4.5 Russian military men for every Ukraine soldier.

Years later, Ukraine, plus the other European countries that previously formed the dissolved “Soviet Union“, got envious and jealous of Russia’s domination and power, except Belarus.

But Russia still wanted them all to be united and peaceful as neighbours, just like they were before the split. Then Ukraine decided to join and align with NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation), which is a military organisation that consists of many countries like the U.S.A.

The then-President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, refused the decision and voted out the citizens.

Underground spy notified Russia of the intentions of NATO and how the U.S.A sponsored a rebel protest against Viktor Yanukovych.

Pause a minute! Do not be carried away yet. I know you’d be wondering why the U.S.A secretly sponsored protection against the man to have him removed and what their hidden agenda was.

NATO’s hidden agenda was: “for Ukraine to join the organisation so that it will be easier for the U.S.A (who are Russia’s main rival and enemy) to secretly transfer and install in Ukraine monitoring equipment, spies, weapons, equipment, etc.”

Because since Ukraine is the closest country to Russia and their neighbours, the U.S.A can be getting vital information from Russian military activities.

So that was what President Russia, Vladimir Putin found out and got furious. He even accepted the ex-president of Ukraine into his country. since NATO were after his life.

So Vladimir Putin tried to stop that from happening by ‘codedly’ deploying thousands and thousands of military troops, tanks, artillery, missiles, et c., into and along the Ukraine borders.

He successfully did that for weeks until security cameras captured the irregular and professional but illegal movements into Ukraine.

On discovering what was going on, the Ukrainian borders filled with mighty Russian armies, the new President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, raised the alarm beckoning the whole world to come and see what is happening to their dear country, Ukraine.

Immediately, the leaders of the World summoned the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, for interrogation.

He was accused of “invasion” with plans to start a war.

Vladimir Putin, on several occasions, denied and insisted it wasn’t an “invasion”; instead, it was just a peaceful movement.

A voice recording currently making the rounds online has captured a lady talking down on men who drive old models of Mercedes Benz.

The lady in the now viral audio recording said although she knows a 2012 Mercedes costs a fortune, she would never take a man who drives a 2012 Mercedes seriously if he woos her.

A Nigerian man in a video currently making the rounds online has called out popular relationship coach, Blessing Okoro.

The young man in the video that found its way to the internet claimed that the relationship expert was the reason his relationship with his girlfriend failed.

A couple were spotted in a now viral video locking lips while sitting on a moving motorcycle on a busy road.

The coupled were recorded in the act by another road user in their car, who later shared the video on social media.

In other news, a four-year-old boy, identified as Jarion Walker, accidentally shot himself in the head after he found his dad’s gun in the backseat of a car.

It was gathered that the 4-year-old was sitting in the back seat with his two younger siblings, aged 22 months and 1 year, when tragedy struck in the city of Westwego near New Orleans, USA.


He was immediately rushed to a hospital where he died of his injuries at around 10:45pm on Saturday, January 29.

According to authorities, his mum was in the front seat smoking weed with another adult when the unfortunate incident happened.

“It was a contact wound to the forehead, right above the right eyebrow,” Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich said.

The police have not made any arrests but detectives confirmed that an investigation will take place.
