Stephanie Agbasi, Nigeria's representative at the Miss Universe 2017, wore a lovely green and silver dress during the ongoing preliminary competitions of Miss Universe but some social media users have a problem with her dress.

Miss Universe contestants from 93 different countries presented their national costumes for the preliminaries which held in the Philippines, and Nigeria's representative wore the lovely sequined dress together with a crown fashioned in the form of Nigeria's coat of arms.

38-year-old South African lady, Mildred Mashego and her 19-year-old daughter, Patricia Mashego gave birth to babies for same man, with just 4 days apart; first the daughter, then the mother.

Mildred allegedly got very angry after she learnt that her daughter was pregnant for her father of 3 boyfriend, Vincent Malumane, and reportedly considered aborting the baby after she found out the truth.

Malumane who admitted having an affair with the mother and daughter behind their backs, said;

“I cannot go back now and explain what happened. All we have to do is focus on making sure that the children are properly cared for,” said the man.

Owo, Ondo State disrupted social activities on the campus of the institution on Thursday as they protested against their lecturers joining the nationwide strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics.

The lecturers of the state-owned Polytechnic, who just resumed from an industrial action a few weeks ago, joined their counterparts across the country for the ASUP strike on Monday.

The RUGIPO students kicked against the action of the lecturers, saying they (lecturers) were insensitive to their (students) academic career.

They added that the lecturers were not supposed to join the nationwide strike.

The angry protesters barricaded the school main entrance, preventing vehicles from going in or going out of the campus of the of the institution for several hours.

They were also armed with placards with various inscriptions such as “If truly we are the leaders of tomorrow, why stampeding our future’, ‘Ijawoye (ASUP Chairman) stop using us as instrument of negotiation,’’ ‘ASUP members graduated, let us too graduate’ among others.

According to the protesting students, the decision of the RUGIPO lecturers to join the strike was illegal and a height of irresponsibility since they just resumed after embarking on a local strike for several weeks.

Speaking with journalists, President of the Student Union Government of the institution, Mr. Temitayo Aiyejuyo, said the striking lecturers were not fair to the students by joining the nationwide strike of the ASUP.

He said since the lecturers of the institution just called off a local industrial action recently, they were not supposed embarked on another strike.

He said, “We believe the ASUP national strike does not concern them, they just resumed from a strike recently, they should be able to consider us, they should be able to know that our future is being affected by their industrial action.”

Aiyejuyo urged the striking lecturers to return to the classroom in the interest of peace and future of the students.

However, the ASUP Chairman in RUGIPO, Mr. Rafiu Ijawoye, said the union must obey the directive from its national headquarters, urging the students to be patient and bear with them.

“We have no option but to comply with the directive from the National Headquarters of the ASUP,” the chairman stated

The Federal Government has set up a cabinet committee to examine the circumstances of the death of 26 teenage Nigerian migrant girls found dead in the Mediterranean in early November.

A Presidency source on Friday debunked the allegations that the government had not reacted to the death of the girls believed to have drowned at sea.

He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has kept it sights on the issue and had briefed the Presidency on a regular basis since the the time the tragic incident came to limelight.

The official said the government committee is expected to also examine the reports of incidents of the sale of Nigerian citizens through slavery and report to the Federal Executive Council within the week.

The committee has as members the Ministers of Women Affairs, Youths, Foreign Affairs; the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora.

Britain’s most notorious prisoner, Charles Bronson today wed 37-year-old actress Paula Williamson at HM Prison Wakefield where he is currently imprisoned.

Originating as a petty criminal, Bronson was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment for armed robbery in 1974. He was later returned to prison for planning another robbery and continued to be a violent inmate, taking numerous hostages, resulting in him being sentenced to life imprisonment.

Only five people are believed to have witnessed Bronson, 64, saying ‘I do’ to Paula in the behind closed doors ceremony which was was shrouded in secrecy.

Paula who fell in love with Bronson after becoming his penpal, arrived in a silver-blue Mercedes with the words ‘Just Married’ in individual letters strung to its rear and was guided into the prison by friends with the blanket covering her face.
