Amy ooooo you no kill person ontop Nairaland!

Lolz... Please we d younger girls are learning o

All the mails I get would be replied, every holiday would be spent in the village frying garri, and all my neighbours shall be blessed as I would be sweeping the street every morning cheesy
If such statements were made with sincerity and no form indifference and mimicry, well then, you might be among the lucky few that are saved.
I wish you well as you turn over a new leaf and forfeit all those odious Nigerian girls' attitudes like 'forming', coldshouldering. etc that drive away serious suitors.

Jazmiynne:
First of all, introduction, I am not a guy. cheesy

Secondly except you just use vocabulary without understanding, I think you should look at your post again.

You said there is "no gainsaying (which could be translated as no disputing or no contradicting) that her prior behaviour and treatment of the male folks are the cause of her present situation."
Which inferences that you are sure without any iota of doubt that she's still single because she has ill-treated men in her life.

And I am saying you have absolutely no right to make such definitive and conclusive statement because you do not know her and have no evidence to insinuate that this is the case.

There are a million and one reasons why women are single. So Oga, once again you are wrong! smiley

Oh and about ailments.... Lolz I didn't address that part to you. I'm sure Amy unlike some people can identify sarcasm when she sees it. cheesy
I thought you were male but in some climes my address of you is spot-on.
you can't just surmise I have no knowledge of her by mere looking of my chats with her, try and exercise caution and discretion next time in other to arrive at well-structured and accurate analysis and judgement.
with her post it is very lucid that she mistreated some of her suitors and most Nigerians girls are very guilty of that and you might not be an exemption (hence your hash and rash response), because it makes a false queen of them when they mete out such treatment, unknowingly to them that it will eventually be their bane.

My queries aren't frivolous. I think my questions are consequential questions that majority of people aren't willing to ask. My questions didn't verge on ethical or moral principles, so I don't even know why you are bringing the moral element into this.

Marriage isn't an innate trait. The innate trait humans share is reproduction and it has evolutionary underpinnings. Marriage however, is a culturally acquired trait, that actually has a history that doesn't have anything to do with our genetic wiring.
life devoid of moral and ethics is tantamount to sanctimonious and nefarious iniquity and inequality, life can't be reconciled or appeased by the carnage of morals but the decrepitude and degeneration of life inherent needs and features.
As adverse to your ideology and in application of accurate acumen, reproduction is the upshot of marriage, without marriage the society will be plagued by monumental iniquity in all ramifications.

Xensity:
Why do you feel you need to start a home and have children all over the house?

If you lived in different society where women were not culturally expected to start a home and have children, would you start a home and have children?

I am asking all these questions because I think your decision to get married, start a home and have children all over the house, stems from a cultural modulation of your thoughts. You are using the statement "I have to," which tacitly implies that you see this as a mandatory requirement. This suggests that this isn't a decision you arrived at through objective, critical evaluation of the concept of marriage, but one you were socially tailored and engineered to adopt. You are more or less a socially programmed robot, programmed to marry and have kids, before a particular perceived age, in order to conform to the lifestyle of other socially programmed robots. Please forgive my last statement if you perceived it as offensive. I didn't mean it to be offensive.
your post reeks of immense and elephantine misconceptions thereby making your ideals vague and jocular and your fruitless attempt to divorce morals from reality(life events) by depriving marriage its momentousness and decideratum corroborates your netheream and neanderthal-like stratum of apprehension and acuity.

Soro niyen?

You don't know her before and you are already sure there's no "gainsaying that her prior behaviour and treatment of the male folks are the cause of her present situation."?

Mbok Amy wetin be your present situation? HIV or AIDS? undecided
guy! make full use of your brain! and try to be a bit sagacious, my post doesn't insinuate that she is experiencing any ailments but you injudiciously attached such expletive to my astute statement.
she might have maltreated her earlier suitors which led to their decline, as such having difficulties attracting potential suitors.

@amicable09, why do you feel the need to get married? Is it something you want, because it's a need that comes naturally and so needs to be satisfied?
Do you see it a means to a desired end? Eg: you need to get married so you can have children and a family, because you want children and a family?
Or is it something you feel is expected of you by society and culture, and not leaving up to it would paint you as a social and cultural failure?
your frivolous queries are misguided! and her article is well premised both ethically and moraly but a bit out of proportion in this geographical entity whose hypocrisy level is in tremendous and alarming quality especially in regards to matters of the heart.
it is innate and expected of humans to satisfy the needs of matrimony, but its lateness elicits sensations of urgency as evident in the poster's post.

So, I finally conquered shame to do this. If you're like me with this kind of desire, whether searching or found, please come in let's plan for the year ahead.

It's no longer news that next year we'll be plus 1 and our biological clock is ticking really fast, we're not even getting any younger. Everyone's been asking when I will get married and I know I'm not alone in this. I need to settle down as a matter of seriousness. To do this, I have looked at the season we are in and came up with a list that will help single ladies like me to walk down the aisle with their Prince in shining armour grin or shining monkey coat tongue, suit... All join.

Ready to tie the knot? huh
Here's the checklist:
*Travel to your hometown :
If you haven't done this already and you're still in the city by this time, run home! Have you not heard that it is only a yeye person who repeatedly do the same thing and expect a different result? You've been in the city since January till now yet no serious bachelor is on your case, it is time to leave that zone down to where things are happening. Put aside your fear, nobody will kill you and if they do, remember, 'something must kill a man!' cheesy

* At the first crow of the co.ck, Jump up!
Don't tell me the cold is too much, harmattan is not foreign to us and don't you dare say you're not an early riser. No excuses! If a silly co.ck decides to crow at 2am, then that's wake up time. Stand up, move out, and start sweeping the village. The village, not your father's house. Village first! The old women are watching.

* Greet Everything and Everyone in &out of sight
Nothing like 'I don't like to greet people'. Stop that attitude! Many people have greeted strangers and got solid husbands from simple 'Good morning Sir/Ma'. It will open doors for your pre-wedding photos, don't say you weren't told!

* Be on the Lookout!
Don't sit at home.
'I am an introvert! I am an introvert!' Really? Wipe your mouth. There's no such word in the vocabulary of prospective brides. Places to Go? Stadium. That's where they go. I mean men them. Church/mosque. You'll meet their parents. Parties. You'll meet their siblings. Don't dull yourself my sister.

* Run Errands
If you fail in all the others, don't fail in this. In the house (family home) be the housegirl. In the compound, be the eldest mama's favorite. Carry firewood from mama's head including waterpots. Show them how homely you are.

* Play with Children
I almost forgot this. Very Very important Miss Spinster, play with children in the afternoon. Play hide and seek with them. Buy them biscuit and minerals. Cook and share. Carry all the new born babies and please, make sure they pee on you. I heard their urine is blessing grin. What oil could not do, urine can do. Receive the blessing before leaving.

2017! Signed, Sealed, Delivered!
Grooms -to -be... We're yours! grin
@poster, your sense of humour with your manner of request triggered by your pivotal conjugal necessity is astoundingly awesome!
although, I feel for your kind but there is no gainsaying that your prior behaviour and treatment of the male folks are the cause of your present situation.
be mindful of your actions to avoid any repetitions, and for atonement of your past and possibly harsh and unpleasant deeds probably against the male folks, shalom aleichem.

PoliticsRe: Anxiety In Presidency, Security Over 2019 Polls by helper01(m): 3:21pm On Dec 28, 2016
politicians are Nigerians' major problem, they always have only their selfish and greedy agenda and care less about the masses.
their meagre contributions are in facade of their main aim of looting the treasury and for the fact that some unreasonable and foolish elements always champion their cause at the expense of the public good makes the whole issue more complicated and a vicious circle hard to break.
TravelRe: Visitors To America Will Surrender Social Media Accounts by helper01(m): 2:58pm On Dec 28, 2016
this somehow goes against the concept of the so-called 'free country.'
Moreover, this rule is against the rule of law as regards to privacy and its enforcement will lead to unpleasant consequences.
