Fashion › Things Girls Shouldn't Do... by helphelp(op): 9:16am On Sep 15, 2014
Don't wear a vest or sleeveless top  without shaving your armpits or without a bra underneath.

Don't leave cheap nail polish to wear off on its own, there's a reason why they sell nail polish remover.

If you can't afford Brazilian, India and Malaysia hair, don't bother we understand.

Don't do artificial nails that makes you look like a Chinese dragon queen, Being simple is always sexy.

See through leggings or a see through top used as a dress when you are out in public is a Hell-to-the-no, Some dude might think you are selling!

Never do things for a man with a hope of getting something in return, expectations are dangerous so do it simply because you want to.

Never oppose or contradict your man in public.

Never stalk the man that dumped you for another girl.

Don't act on distress while in a relationship, Whatever you looking for on his phone and Facebook you will definitely find it.

Don't nag him to death and continuously acting like a paranoid freak will push him to someone else.

Stop obsessing over your body, You are fine and some other girl is finer so leave it at that.

Over accessorizing yourself makes you look like a Christmas tree but your friends won't tell you.

Never leave home without your dignity.

Never leave your used sanitary pad where someone else will see it...Bitch Please!

Never wear high heels if you can't do the Naomi Campbell walk, You will end up walking like a drunk grasshopper.

Finally, never wish to be like the other woman because there are others envying you for who you are...

MY LITTLE ADVICE....

Guys might seemed unfazed by a breakup, but if you stare into their eyes, you'll see nothing but pain, longing and a desire to fill the void in their hearts with so many Big Macs. There's a lot of self-doubt, maybe (probably) some crying, a lot of going out with friends, some trash talking, saying some nice things about the person, more trash talking, drinking, binge-watching something, a few weird texts/phone calls to the ex and then finally catharsis. Maybe. Here's what guys really do after you dump them.

1. Strumming Along:

Teach ourselves a sad song on guitar. Our roommates might not have known how many chords were in "Wonderwall" before, but now they do. It's six. Six chords.

2. Dine In:

Create a ring of comfort food around our desk/couch/chair/table. Wherever we've decided to park our sad, unlovable bodies, it looks like we're preparing for some ancient ritual that requires a specific arrangement of Chinese food cartons and pizza boxes on the floor.

3. All Busy-ness:

Stay way too busy. "Hey, it's a great thing she broke up with me! Now I can finally clean my attic/build my own bookcase/start a business/move to Mexico! This is a cry for help someone please talk me out of these long-term plans!"

4. Lay Low:

Avoid bars. We can't go to a bar without drunkenly hitting on women and getting rejected. And we can't handle rejection right now.

5. Ex Marks the Spot:

Talk about our exes way too much. "You know who loved that movie? My ex! Oh, you know who was good at tying shoes? My ex. You know who also needed to eat food to survive? My ex." Everything becomes a reason to bring them up.

6. Play It Again:

Listen to one song over and over. It doesn't have to be a breakup song, but if it reminds us of our ex, we will have it on repeat constantly.

7. Hiding Out:

Avoid restaurants/movie theaters/parks we used to go to with our ex. Have you ever seen a grown man crying by himself in a movie theater? It's because he made the mistake of going to see the new Robocop in the same theater where he and his ex had their first date.

8. Text Troubles:

Spend hours hovering our thumb over "send" on a text to our ex. Eventually, we'll either drink enough whiskey to go through with it, or a good Samaritan will recognize the signs of a dumpee and throw our phone into the woods.

9. Buddy System:

Invite our guy friends over to sit in brooding silence with us. It's better than watching a Top Gear marathon by ourselves. We'll probably also try to offer them something from one of the discarded fast food boxes by our feet, because we're good hosts.

10. Shaving Boycott:

Grow a breakup beard. No one has time to shave when they're plumbing the depths of human emotion. The breakup beard is sad and unkempt, with enough food in it to feed a flock of very tiny birds, like swallows or something.

aljharem: Fashola and the APC lead Tinubu government are full of lies and propaganda. Lets itemize the things he claimed to have do with a loan of 160 billion Naira. Also note that Lagos generate 29 billion Naira monthly apart from 12 billion Naira monthly allocation from the Federal Government

Is Shoprite a Lagos state project ? No

Is Lekki epe a lagos state project ? No and if yes then why are we being asked to pay at them toll gate, is this not double taxation ?

Are those housing estates Lagos state project for the elites or masses ? if for the elites then half of them is owned by Tinubu. If not then why sell a Lagos state "low scheme" flat for 30 million naira ? Does this even make any sense ?

Are those malls shops for the elites or market men and women ? The tejuosho mall and co are rented and sold at high prices. Most of them have already been bought by his commissioner and SA wives.

Is FERMA also Lagos state ? Ikorodu road has always been repaired and maintained by Ferma, not to talk of other road.

Point out what Fashola has done apart from over inflated projects, planting flowers and elites housing estates

Hoping for PDP to take over this Tinubu Empire

Politics › Basis Of Making Front Page On Nairaland by helphelp(op): 12:04am On Sep 11, 2014
I have always wondered why some very interesting topics do not make front page, while some very unusual, annoying(pardon me, my view) makes it to the front page.

Is it that the MODs are been partial (my reason for posting under politics), or they only put forward what interest them.

Or, if the news does not have a viable source, it won't make front page.

Really, cos not all topics are actually news, some are very informative and by the time I view, I expect such informative news to make front page, it's then you will see one actress buying roasted yam along the road or "who wore it better " or "Tiwa Savage does not have fashion sense"

By now, I know it's not the number of comments or views, because I have seen some topics make front page even without a comment.

It's just funny, someone will go all the way to post informative stories/ideas et al. And yet, it's "dog enter gutter" that will make front page

Over to you Mr. Seun Osewa and the MODs..I'd appreciate a solid reason

Bye for now

Family › Who Would You Save? Mother Or Child? by helphelp(op): 10:37pm On Sep 10, 2014
We have heard numerous cases of life threatening situations, whereby one has to decide between Mother or child during childbirth.

Also, I have seen in lots of movies (Not Nollywood) scenarios where the mother decides to save the child.

Now, let's take a real life situation. Say for instance, you and your wife have been trying for so long to have a child, eventually after 10yrs your wife gets pregnant, but during childbirth, complications occurred and decisions has to be made to save either the Mother or the child.

As the husband, if you were asked to choose, who would you choose?

And as the wife, would you rather have your baby survive?

Please give cogent reasons...

Politics › Former President Obasanjo’s Son Shot In Mubi By Boko Haram by helphelp(op): 8:33pm On Sep 08, 2014
(JOS)

Boko Haram militants attacked a platoon led by the son of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, shooting him today. He sustained serious injuries to his legs and was being transported to the hospital at the time of this report.

Adeboye Obasanjo, an army engineer, was a Lieutenant Colonel at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State.

He and his platoon were engaged with Boko Haram militants at Baza, which is the village of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd division when the incident took place. The Lieutenant Agwu of the 234 battalion, GOC of the 3rd Division, Major Gen JS Zaruwa and Colonel Victor Ebhaleme who serves as the Brigade Commander of the 23rd Army brigade in Yola were all together advancing towards Michika when Boko Haram fighters unleashed the deadly attack on the soldiers.

24 soldiers in the platoon were reportedly killed by the militants.

Apart from the dead soldiers, the army also lost an armored tank to the militants. As a result of the attack, the army has moved sensitive weapons from mubi to the Brigade headquarters in Yola leaving mubi vulnerable to attack. The town of Mubi has practically been deserted following the closure of schools and massive retreat of soldiers from the city.

The former president is currently traveling in Singapore according to family sources.

Briareos: For the umpteenth time, Half of a Yellow Sun is not a Biafran story. It is a romantic story set during the Biafran War. Big , sorry, gigantic difference.
Half of a Yellow Sun is a novel by the Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Published in 2006 by Knopf/Anchor, it tells the story of the Biafran War[1] through the perspective of the characters Olanna, Ugwu, and Richard.

It says through the perspective of, not that it's a romantic story set during the war. Or is that how you saw it? If so, that makes it more confusing. But, I must confess enough romantic scenes to make up for a short mojo grin
