Go to any local government HQ close to you, ask for National Populations office where they give birth certificate, ask them for Attestation of Birth. NVC accepts this for Nigeria.

The first problem I see is inadequate finances for your family.

To work on this, you will need to have cooperation of your girlfriend. Both of you MUST be willing to put in the work. Both of you must look for work or business to be doing to provide for your family. Your finances alone cannot do it at this point.
