agaugust: We will soon see made in Nigeria 'Shaldag high speer ocean imterceptor IPV' for both NN and export market. We already export different types of Vessels/Patrol crafts. What we need to do is ramp up exports. Continuing, the report stated that, “Other products exported by Nigeria include vehicles, aircraft and parts thereof; vessels among others at ₦250.6 billion or 8.7 per cent;http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/nigeria-earns-n2-5trn-from-petroleum-products-export-in-3mths/ |

chkil: School sailing boat for the Algerian Navy ! under construction This boats look more like vintage boats to me, never actually understood what they are used for, neither have i been interested in enough to know more about them. Great acquisition..... I guess. It is the Algerian LPD i'm much more fascinated by, that's one beautiful ship! |

frumentius: I've seen it online a few times, even on this very thread. What puzzles me though, is why it happens even on a spacious vessel like NNS Thunder. Look for the pic on the Africom flickr account. There are literally thousands of PICs on that account. You can post it when you get hold of it. I haven't seen it on NNS Thunder though. The logical conclusion is, seen ships/vessels have to keep a constant presence at sea, with patrol of both the EEZs of Nigeria and Benin, to keep patrols going, vessels/ships have to stock up on gas. |

Pic related, same guys in the same deployment. I can keep posting more. ..... But then, it means this thread would be derailed, which doesn't seem fair.

frumentius: NNS Andoni
Guess she joined the 2015 Annual Fleet Review just after seizing that fuel "on patrol". Okay.... I admit, i was wrong. However, same as you on the SANDF. |

frumentius: Stop, just stop. Clue: rush over to Beegeagle's blog and scrub all the other photos of your vessels with fuel stored on the deck. All armies face challenges; being defensive doesn't help. It promotes mediocrity. "Pointing out what they are makes me defensive?"........ Seems like an unfair criticism. Especially when we see that vessel (Andoni) is the same vessel(pictured below) sailing from the Eastern Naval Command to the Western Naval Command.

But hey, thats just my observation Inconsequential. If you considered applying a bit of common sense, you most likely would have figured out it was seized. You don't need to be told. |

ocelot2006: The army airborne adopted the Tavor? Well, it's compact & a decent rifle, but the Beryl would've made far more sense due to the fact thst its being used by Army special forces (airborne is special ops capable) & it shares a considerable number of features with the basic AK-47/Type 56 currently in use by regular army units. Go back a few pages. You'll see them. |

NNS Andoni 2, work is progressing, however it is way behind schedule. Hopefully it gets launched this year same as NNS Unity.

Since the Navy operates in CQB scenarios, the Tavor would do just fine. For the rest of the Armed Forces, a Beryl or an. Upgraded AK, similar to what our police use should do. |
