Celebrities / Daniel Ademinokan Is Not Ready To Divorce Doris Simeon? by henrydeelinkag(m): 12:42am On May 18, 2013
Despite the story making rounds that DanielAdeminokan had secretly tied the nuptial with Stella Damasus, an inside source close to Daniel and Doris has said that the story is not true, as Ademinokan is not ready to divorce his wife.

The source revealed that however, Doris hasinitiated a court case that might let her divorce Ademinokan, her estranged husband and be free of him forever.

Last week, in a court proceeding at Igbosere Magistrate Court, Lagos State, lawyers of Simeon appeared in the court complaining to the judge that they had not being able to serve Ademinokan the court notice of the divorce, as he was taking evasive action preventing him from being served. The case was later adjourned to a future date.

The source asked why Ademinokan was avoiding being served if he really wanted to end his relationship with the fair-complexioned Doris, as the source said Ademinokan might just be playing game with Stella Damasus’ heart.

Only time will tell if this is true.

Celebrities / I Am Not Afraid Of Rape, Says Nollywood Actress Omotola Jalade by henrydeelinkag(m): 7:50pm On May 14, 2013
Nollywood actress, wife and a mother, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is one person in the movie scene that remains sexy and classy despite being a mother of four grown up children. She competes easily with most single stars in the razzmatazz industry in Nigeria, commanding a large number of secret male admirers.

In an industry, where many male fans would doeverything possible to get any female celebrity they admire, there is no doubt that Omotola would not be left out of such.

Though not in the news with romance scandals,it is very certain that the queen of Nollywood and one of the 100 most influential people in the world, according to TIME Magazine, had been in situations, where she would have to chase male admirers away.

Speaking on the issue, the glamorous actress admitted that she has male fans, who want more than friendship from her, adding that she deals with the issue in her own way.

According to the delectable Ondo State-born movie superstar, “when you (men) hang aroundfor a while and you don't get anything, you will decide what you want to do (laughs).”

She added that, “I don't think you have to run from anybody, nobody is going to come and rape you. So, it is not a life or death situation. Itis as simple as two adults, three friends, and after a while, if one has an ulterior motive, understanding that it's not going to happen, then you can handle it with maturity.

“So, they will decide whether to stick around or go away. Why do we have to fight in the process?

Celebrities / Folorunsho Alakija Speaks On Marriage Problems: “my Husband’s Mother Almost Wrec by henrydeelinkag(m): 8:41am On May 09, 2013
Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, a Nigerian business mogul who became the 2nd richest woman in Africa last year is speaking up for the very first time on her marital challenges.

The mother of 4 said in an interview that her mother-in-law who hails from the Igbo tribe almost wrecked her marriage of many years.

Hear Mrs Alakija in her own words below;

”My husband’s mother was Igbo, while her dad was from the south-west here, and because of this, my mother in-law never wanted a yoruba woman to marry her son. She was also not comfortable with my muslim background then. She wanted an Igbo daughter-inlaw, but my husband said it’s me or nothing.

It was a tough battle until God finally prevailed….Whenever she wanted something from my husband and was not getting it immediately , she would start attacking me and saying i’m the one stopping her son from doing her biddings. it was also an issue when she asked for a baby girl from me and i could not give her. i have four boys in my marriage….At some point, i was encouraged to fight back by my husband, but i refused and kept praying to God to change her. Despite my mother inlaw’s opposition towards me, i made sure we took herto US and UK on holidays with us severally and kept showering her with unconditional love. My joy is that we settled before she passed on”

Celebrities / D’banj Collaborates With Olamide; His Endless Struggle For Relevance Exposed by henrydeelinkag(m): 9:57pm On May 08, 2013
Once upon a time (October 14, 2010), I tweeted ‘Partnerships can hardly work, not unless you’rea duo like Don Jazzy and D’Banj’… this tweet was ‘favourited’ by Don Jazzy. Then two years later (2012), the statement returned to me – void!

A D’BANJ topic at this point in time would arouse mixed feelings, especially amongst and within fans and pundits. Many would never come to an agreement while some would rather rest the case for another day.

We cannot rule out the fact that most people including yours truly are yet to fathom the reality that the ‘Koko Master’ and his erstwhile buddy, Don Jazzy are no longer together – A creative and business divorce.

The breakup cleared arguments about Don Jazzy as a major influence and source of the quality and quantity of music that came from D’Banj. The source of the music was the least of my problem – I just loved what I heard from production to vocals and lyrics. Everything was fine. There’s no point going into the obvious – we all know the breakup story.

The last song that was officially promoted on
Mo’hits was ‘Oliver Twist’. It was and still is a monster hit across the world.

Before the rise of Mo’hits, D’Banj released his first set of songs ‘Kiss Me Again’ ft. Ruggedman,‘One More Time’ and ‘Gba Si Be’ ft. Abounce on OJB’s Silver Tones’ imprint. The advent of Mo’hits and the growth of the D’Banj brand onlygave ‘collabo access’ to label mates and close friends like Ikechukwu (Whine Am Well), Kas (Fimile Remix) and Banky W (Lagos Party Remix).

The dynasty was very rigid in collaboration-related matters. We weren’t sure if it was Don Jazzy’s plot to protect D’Banj’s creative weakness or the latter’s personal choice. However, the release of ‘Mr. Endowed Remix’ with Snoop Dogg in 2011 and the Kanye West-Good Music merger confirmed that D’Banj was not about the local league. He had a bigger dream.

Going over the changes that has transpired afterMo’hits’ breakup will be over-flogging the issue.
A significant change on D’Banj’s side is his sudden presence on other artiste’s songs.

The first was ‘Bad Pass (Tony Montana)’ by Naeto C, followed by Iyanya’s ‘Kukere Remix’. The fact that these songs were already solo hits made his input less relevant especially at a time when fans and the industry at large expect more. Fally Ipupa was featured on ‘We The Best’, off D’Banj’s DKM Album, but the arrangement made it sound like D’Banj was the one featured.

So D’Banj is also cutting in on Olamide’s recent buzz
and they have a song that will be released any time soon. I reckon this is a strategy of some sort to either sustain relevance or a random attempt to cop another hit outside Don Jazzy’s works.

The last Nation’s Cup, placed him on the continent’s spotlight again but instead of unveiling a new song on that platform, he continues with the Don Jazzy produced ‘Oliver Twist’. In my opinion, the ‘Remix’ withKanye West is a waste of an opportunity.

Additions like that are done when you are just paying (oneoff) for the guy to voice a verse or two on your already made song, but when you are a signed artiste on Good Music (especially when it’s a paid merger), creative time should be spent on asong for the sake of the fans and listening community.

Maybe it’s too early to expect much from D’Banjbut I am worried for him already. This is a man who has three flawless albums and countless hitsongs on his belt. Everything he touched in the past was gold and if one artiste was literally way ahead of his time, it was D’Banj. He is the only artiste who would drop his Glo Ambassadorshipdue to complications from renewal talks and fee.Even at that, the guy was not blabbing when he said ‘I make 10 million in a week…’ on ‘Gbono Feli Feli’ (2008). He is still one of the most awarded artistes of the last decade. I mean, if hedrops the music today, his achievement may notbe surpassed in years to come.

The mass influx of sounds and artistes in Nigeria today is enough to distract the most loyal of fans. Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie already has a lot of fans in Nigeria; same way new artistes are sprawling up every day to have a share of the cake.

I don’t know how long we will have to wait for D’Banj but if the collaborations are intentional and strategic to fuel his relevance – let’s file! Don’t touch it!

Celebrities / Shaving Nollywood Actresses: Professional To The Core Or Money Lovers To The Hil by henrydeelinkag(m): 1:03pm On May 07, 2013
Before now, Nollywood was noted for churning out movies that had voo-doo storyline, they gradually moved from that port to romance where Emeka Ike, Ramsey Nouah and DesmondEliot were used as lover boys. Then left for showing of nudity, where those cast then as possible major movie stars of the future were exhibiting their mammary glands amongst othersexist display of body parts.
Today, the ministry of acting called Nollywood in Nigeria has moved to another level, now, it’s scrapping off of their hair, thereby going totally bare, this now become the latest fad.

This trend started with Stella Damasus, Uche Jombo, Mercy Johnson, but of late it has spread across board to the likes of Oge Okoye, Queen Nwokoye, Halima Abubakar, Anita Joseph, Nuella Njubuigbo, Adaora Ukoh….the most recent being Chika Ike who was said to have been paid a whopping N5m to feature in a movie, the latest entrant to the shaven head roleplayer being, Ebube Nwagbo and others.

Some top practitioners in the industry and concerned fans of these actresses are curious to know if going bare is the in-thing now. Could this be attributed to the passion for acting, or the ‘un-rejectable’ monetary offer for the deal? Only those involved can say…but one of them actually confessed that “I don’t know it would be this crazy, Ego Di n’Ogwu.” Whatever that means!

Crime / Two Chinese Teenagers Commit Suicide Over Unfinished Homework Assignments by henrydeelinkag(m): 10:10am On May 04, 2013
In an extreme case highlighting the immense pressure schoolchildren can face, two teens in eastern China committed suicide after failing to complete homework assignments.

In a highly competitive education system that emphasises rote learning and passing exams, Chinese students spend on average 8.6 hours a day in class and can expect several more hours of assignments afterwards.

State-owned media confirmed today that a 15-year-old boy in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province, who failed to finish homework from a three-day public holiday jumped to his death around 11:00 am on Thursday, the China Daily said.

A 13-year-old boy in the same town got up at 4:00
am Thursday to complete holiday assignments but was found hanged on a staircase at his home two hours later, it reported.

“In a suicide note, the boy said he loved his parents, felt sorry for them and hoped they could bring lilies, his favourite flower, to his grave,” it read.

China has made impressive progress in rolling out universal education across the country, and according to the United Nations has a youth literacy rate of 99 percent. But many parents complain about the emphasis on rote memorisation and tests and the rigid teaching style.

Some students spend as much as 12 hours in the classroom each day, a 2007 survey by China’s Youth and Children Research Centre reported. They can typically expect several hours of homework on top of that.

Xiong Bingqi, deputy director of the Beijing-based
21st Century Education Research Institute, told the China Daily that: “Test scores are still an important evaluation, or the only evaluation, for a student to get admitted to college. Therefore it’s natural for teachers to leave heavy homework assignments,” he said.

Singer Onoyem Mbuk aka Iyanya is currently lamenting his inability to find a good girlfriend due to his busy schedule.

The singer who just staged an amazing performance in Toronto in a recent interview said there is currently no woman in his life.

When queried about the lady in his life, Iyanya said;
Nobody. It’s not like there can’t be anybody but my job would not allow it. It’s hard to find someone that will be with you and actually take the pain, stand the rain.

I feel like anyone I have tried to have a relationship with always says “no, I can’t”.

He was also asked if he can date a fellow celebrity, the singer responded with;

I can date anybody but the thing about dating celebs is that it would most likely not last. The only way it may last is if they are not successful. But if they are both successful, when people see them together, they would focus on them. That alone has an effect on the relationship because they won’t be free.

Then what happened to Yvonne Nelson and Tonto Dikeh… Guess the hotties have dumped him.

Hate her or love her, Kaffy, the dance queen is not moved, neither is she going to deny it that, she was once encouraged into prostitution by her mother.

When they say wonders shall never end, some people may not readily understand until they hear some life testimonies that leave the mouth agape, such is the candid disclosure of popular dancer and musician Kafayat popularly known as Kaffy.

She dropped the bombshell about how her mother nearly made her go into prostitution so as to make ends meet. The talented dancer revealed this while she was addressing a group of youths at a programme held not too long ago.

She divulged this while encouraging the young minds at the event to learn how to read between the lines so that they won’t be guided because sometimes, the people that they look up to may be the one that will lead them astray.

The talented mother of two, also disclosed that she had to pay her way through school as she did not attend the conventional school that every other child attends because she had to wait for the regular school pupils to close from school so that she could borrow their books and cover up but luck smiled on her when she made a record for herself and country at Amstel Malta World Marathon Dance, by breaking the existing record for the Guinness Book of World Records through dance. And ever since, she has not relented on her oars.

Nollywood actress turned full-time evangelist , Eucharia Anunobi has vowed not to abandon her acting career for a full-time ministerial work.

The actress who was ordained an evangelist a while back did a question and answer section where curious fans ask her several questions.

See her response to some questions below

Why would Nigerians, my own people, think in the direction that i have either stopped acting or would never feature in any movie because of my calling and ordination as an EVANGELIST? As if ACTORS are sinners?

What is the job of acting all about in the first instance? And what are the roles and responsibilities of an Evangelist? Dissemination of INFORMATION right?

I think everyone should try to grab a copy of GOD OF SHILOH AND GOD OF ZION, then, the MESSAGE about the relationship between Acting and Evangelism would be clearer to US.

Celebrities / Nigerian Actor Pete Edochie Is My Biological Father – Says Kenyan Model Ephy Sai by henrydeelinkag(m): 3:35pm On Apr 20, 2013
In this recent interview with Michael Alonge, the alleged secret son of Nollywood actor Pete Edochie hasspoken up once again.

Ephy Saint , a 24-year-old Kenyan model still stands byhis previous claims that veteran actor Pete Edochie is his father .

Read the interview excerpt below

Tell me a bit about yourself?

I’m 24 years old, raised by an awesome single
mother, who I would gladly give an organ to. I am working so hard to live my dream which is to be the best in the world as an actor / model and a movie maker… I love life and have very fun-loving people around me. I always grow to be me and no one else.

How and where did you grow up?

All over, with my mum and my grand folks, in Kenya.

With your mum; how about your father?

Hmmm, I don’t know, I never met him.

Can you tell us why?

I can’t …He is a magician …had me and disappeared, so I can’t tell much about him.

Aside Kenya, where would you love to live?

My father’s land … Nigeria

Nigeria?

Yes, Nigeria! I learnt he’s a prominent and well known and respected actor in Nigeria from the South Eastern part of the country, as I am made to believe by my mum. That’s the little I know about him.

Are you sure?

My mum said so, in fact, he’s still very much an active participant in the industry.
Taking a closer look at yourself, who do you think your dad is?

Well, my mum said and I want to believe her that multiple award-winning actor, Pete Edochie is my biological father.

How sure are you?

I can’t prove it; I only got wind of it last year.
Can you give us reasons why you can’t prove it?

Distance and lack of information from both of them, my mum and him, that is, my biological father, Pete Edochie.

But does your mum realise that you need to know who your true father is?

She does, she kept it away from me until last year whenshe told me about it. I was shocked.

Have you made effort to reach Pete Edoche after that revelation?

Yes I have, like any other man who might not be in the know about an existing biological child of his; he denied. Saying he has never been to Kenya in his entirelife.

Through what means did you reach out to him?

My mum sent someone to him and the person return with his message that he said he never had any fling with anybody in Kenya because he has never been there in his entire life.

What was your reaction when he said that?

It’s either he’s lying or he has a twin brother.
This fact you have is not enough to call him your father….

There are talks here and there that he used to live in Nairobi in Kenya in a small town called Buru Buru.

What year?

1987-1988

Has it ever occurred to you that your mum might not be factual about this?

I believe my mother. She has always been there for me, I don’t see a reason why she would lie or hide any information about my father or paternity. This is not a matter to be joked with.

So she told you that Pete Edochie, Nigerian bearded actor is your father?

Yes she did.

Doesn’t your mother have a picture or something she can put down as evidence?

She was having a picture of the two of them together, according to her, she gave it to a friend to help trace him and that friend said he has misplaced the picture.
Now you can see the critical situation I have been placed.
What surname do you bear?
Muriithi

How? That’s not a Nigerian name as you claim to have a Nigerian father …

Some other man took responsibility of bringing me up but he also left soon after my sister was born, but his mother brought me up that’s why I kept the name. He’sa Kenyan.

Did this other guy too divorce your mum or just left like your dad?

Left, my mum was never married to any of them .
What attempt have you made to come to Nigeria and solve this riddle once and for all?

If a man wants nothing to do with me and I believe himto be my father, I also don’t want much to do with him.

From the look of things, I guess only DNA can settle this paternity issue?

If he truly hasn’t been to Kenya as he claimed and I take him through all that, he will hate me the more, so DNA test seems like a long thing right now. I want to believe that everything happens for a reason. I am madeto succeed in life. I am not looking for money or anything from Pete, just his acceptance. But of what use is the success for a man to deny the paternity of his child. It’s cruelty and all of us shall meet to account forour various deeds on earth.

The burden now rests on your shoulders to press further on the paternity issue, since you know your mum is not making a mistake then you should stand as a man to unravel the mystery surrounding your birth.

May be this is how God wants it. In Kenya, I am a big name and I have followership but in God I trust.

Thanks for your advice anyway

Lastly, what’s that secret desire?

I would love to be buried in Nigeria, the land of my father.

Something is definitely not adding up here.

His mother said Pete Edochie impregnated her in a small town called Buru Buru in Kenya..but the actor has denied ever being to Kenya.

Hope this young man is not seeking popularity the wrong way..

Where is the picture of his mother? and who are we to believe now….

Celebrities / Nigerian Actress Monalisa Chinda Regrets Divorce – Her Wedding Plan With Lanre N by henrydeelinkag(m): 9:48pm On Apr 19, 2013
In this recent interview, beauty Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda who is presently soooo in love with aLagos-based socialite named Lanre Nzeribe has revealed her plan to give marriage a try again.

The mother of one who confesses she regret being a one-time divorcee said she still believes in love.
“I regret being a divorced wife”

I believe in love. Love is the reason for our existence. It’s really not enough if you want to get something done, you have to do away with that emotion and be real.

More interview excerpts below;

“We learnt that you are planning to go into marriage again. Is it true?”

I would love to remarry. In fact, I’m designed to be under a man. I’m not going to lie that I like this ‘single mother nomenclature. But whereby there is no one at the moment, one is bound to get used to the situation. It’s not a ‘do- or -die affair’ because I have been there before, anything I’m going to do now, it has to be doneright.

I’m not in the school of thought, where the first one happened and perhaps, the second one. No, any bold step I have to take in settling down again, it has to be right. I’m not ready to make another mistake. But I willdefinitely remarry . I believe in the principles of marriage. Whether you like it or not, marriage is a better option.

“How soon are you planning to settle down?”
I honestly don’t know about that, and I can’t tell for now.

“Have you found love again?”
It’s neither here nor there. I’m a lover and I love to love.

“Your fans would want to know if there is any man in your life at the moment?”
Yes, there is a man in my life.

“What do you regret most about your past?”

One thing I regret most is the fact that I am divorced. Where I come from, I’m the first daughter. I’m from a royal family, it has never been on record in my family that the first daughter will walk out of her matrimonial home. But it was a matter of life and death, otherwise, I would have stayed back and make my marriage work. I tried to make it work, but it takes two people to tango.

That’s the only thing I regret, having to raise my child without the father. It’s a bit painful. But I have to live with it. It’s better that way than to expose my little daughter to all sorts of domestic violence. It will definitely disorient her and affect her upbringing.

She will be dis-functional.

God knows the best. May be, I should have been more careful.

“If your ex- comes back to you today, will you accept him again?”

God forbid. He’s a closed chapter in my life.
“Does it mean your little daughter is not missing her father?”

She doesn’t know her father. She was barely a year when our marriage crashed. I think she will ask some day.

“How do you describe yourself?”

I’m just the girl-next-door. I don’t have many ears around me, I try to be humble. I want people to be able to reach out to me. I’m not a difficult person. I’m an easy-going lady.

“With such shocking experience, what would you say life has taught you?”

I’ m a bit stronger and wiser now than before. I have known how not to get involved in anything emotional again. If you are emotional even in a relationship, you don’t get to think. One shouldn’t allow her emotion to overrule her sense of reasoning.

I have understood what it means to be patient to persevere and also, to be careful with people around me. If somebody around you is your very good friend, you end up finding that the person is actually an enemyin disguise. I have learnt all of that because I have been alone. While my marriage was intact, I was not keepingfriends. After I’m through with my work, I usually retire to my house . But since I’m alone, and having to mix up with a lot of people, I have realized that I have to be very careful and free-minded and at the same time, be myself.

“In the midst of all these challenges, what would you say has kept you going?”

I’m a very strong woman, and open-minded. I know who I am. I’m a Godly person, but I’m not a perfectionist. If I do something wrong, I will always find a way to show remorse and repent of whatever sin I might have committed. That has kept me going.

I’m highly determined and focused. I do not go by what people say about me pious.

“How did you feel when your father was murdered?”

Every day that passes by, I think of that man. God blesshis soul. He was the reason, I’m doing what I am doing at the moment. My late dad was a philanthropist. He would give out the last money in his pocket to those who do not have. I took after my Dad, whereas my mum was a career woman.

My dad ensured that his children were well taken care of, in all ramifications. He was a good cook and he spent greater part of his life in Germany. As far as I’m concerned, my dad was a German. He was always in theforefront of ensuring that his children were well cateredfor. But my mum was a career woman before she retired.

That brings us to the end of Monalisa Chinda’s interview.
