HealthRe: "The One-minute Decision That Cost Her 2 Months" by HenryWilliams(m): 5:59am On May 18
Some Nigerian doctors are senseless though, they just want to extract money from you even if it means lying to you when all you needed is a rest.

So I really can't blame anyone declining their advise sometimes.
This is why many refuse bed rest in Nigerian hospitals. It's a big avenue to rip patients off.
Try FMC in Ebute Metta. A bed rest of 3-5 days will cost you over 150k.
Many know the right thing to do but when it comes at such an exorbitant cost, some will walk away.
I don't blame them. Things are too expensive in this country especially healthcare.
RomanceRe: If Any Man Keeps Malice With Me For 3 Days, I’ll Sleep With Another Man- Lady by HenryWilliams(m): 5:55am On May 18
I
“If any man keeps malice with me for just 3 days, I’ll sleep with another man” – Lady declares

A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her controversial opinion on relationships while reacting to the alleged cheating scandal involving singer Chike and the ex-wife of media personality Frank Edoho.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady defended women who cheat in relationships, claiming that prolonged silence and unresolved issues between couples often push women into the arms of other men.

According to her, no woman would remain completely loyal for too long if her partner decides to keep malice instead of resolving problems in the relationship.

In her words, she said:

“If any man try to keep malice with me in a relationship because we’re having issues, the highest I can be loyal for you is three days. Me and you are dating and we’re quarrelling. I no talk to you, you no come beg me, the highest I can promise you that I won’t give out my body to another man is three days.

“So Chike we love you, thank you for being a shoulder for her to cry on when she needed you, we love you and we’re proud of you. For once the men should be proud too. So if you keep keeping malice with your woman, another man will take your place.”

Her statement has since generated mixed reactions online, with many social media users criticizing her stance on infidelity, while others argued that communication are important in relationships.

The controversy follows ongoing social media discussions surrounding allegations involving Chike and Frank Edoho’s ex-wife, which have continued to trend online.

a few years time, this one will be crying and shedding tears over failed relationships and no marriage, blaming gods and men for her predicament.
I trust village people, they will save this and wait for her to get engaged and quietly send it to her fiance. Whick normal responsible man would read this and still marry this street thing?

Houseontherock1:
A group of bandits or terrorists? Please let's be bold enough to call a spade a spade! It’s important we stop softening these crimes with selective labels. If armed groups attack communities, kidnap citizens, and kill security officers, they are terrorists — whether they are called bandits or not. Changing the headline from “bandits” to “terrorists” in the body only shows the confusion in how these groups are described. The truth is simple: all bandits are terrorists by every practical definition.
It's a deliberate act by the Government and enforced on News Media.
Calling them bandits localize their crimes. Making it seem domestic. Terrorists has a more global, intense meaning which the government of the day tries desperately to avoid.
We love burying our head in the sand like ostrich oblivious to the clear and present danger surrounding us. They're probing our slim defences, attacking here and there, looking for weak spots.
Let's hope our case doesn't turn to Mali.

RomanceRe: Chike: My Friend About To Call Off His Wedding Because Of Fiancée's Comment by HenryWilliams(m): 3:46pm On May 15
FreeNaijaII:
So my friend proposed to his longtime girlfriend of 3 years this month.

They are already planning to go and see her parents later next month and to also get a date for the wedding sometime in December this year.

They don't always have issues, and anytime they do, they will resolve it within a day or so.

So, my friend saw his fiancée's comment on Instagram validating Frank Edoho's ex-wife opening her legs to Chike (another man) while married to Mr. Edoho.

In her argument, she said that she was right to open her legs to another man because Frank confessed that he keeps malice as a form of punishment.

For the sake of anonymity, I can't share the screenshot here.

He (my guy) has already made up his mind to quit the relationship because he sees her comment as a red flag that should not be ignored.

I tried to talk him out of it, but it seems his mind is made up.

What can I do to help?
This is how you'll know the whole stupid story was made up.

Where will he win tinubu ? Check the electoral map of 2011. Gej's winning votes came from the south and middle belt. Don't forget we, the south west voted him too as our consensus candidate. I was supporting AC then. Tinubu will be on the ballot and south west will be shared, north too. As it stands and given the momentum of the day, only Peter obi stands a better chance of challenging tinubu and the reason his supporters had been drooling over obi's matter.

Jonathan's government was riddled with massive corruption and the reason Nigerians voted him out. Don't forget that. He was clueless and weak. He was just lucky ni. I'd rather vote tinubu than vote Jonathan. Ok is our mandate

Car TalkRe: Lagos To Charge Motorists For Street Parking by HenryWilliams(m): 8:12am On May 08
epainos:
This is a very good policy. Excellent. You even see people abandon old vehicles in the streets causing obstruction everywhere. When you start paying heavily, no one will teach you to make a car park in your compound. Also, people will make business out of this by making creating car parks everywhere. Just imagine how Lagos inner streets and corners are going to be free.

In Lagos, the madness of streets parking is notorous such that wide streets (as wide as 4 lanes) many times are turned to a single lane. And the minimum all streets should have should be double lanes. This is so great. Very good.

Infact, I pray the fees arent just tokens but heavy pays. As in heavy such that those who abandoned vehicles in the street will run to dispose them fast. I kuku trust Lagos officials...they will milk them very well. Make dem milk people like that.
This is very evident in Ebute Metta currently.
You'll have developers building 4 floor structures with numerous flats yet no parking space to adequate cater for the tenant's cars, they end up parking on the streets. Come to Ibadan Street, a newly renovated street, they've turned it to single lane with people parking on BOTH sides of the road. It's just disgraceful.

Many countries have done similar things before.

We don't have the balls for that.

They don't want competition in that sector
PoliticsRe: Enugu Targets 660MW Coal-fired Power Plant, Sets July Groundbreaking Date by HenryWilliams(m): 7:03am On May 07
False..
Nigeria is a signatory to one yèyé UN charter against using fossil fuel like coal for energy generation.. something about greenhouse gases, this effectively crippled most African & South American countries as they were forced to sign it, yet the US , UK and China (biggest polluters) aren't signatories and they burn megatons of coal daily with reckless abandon
So who's the fool here?
We have stupid sets of leaders with no forward thinking faculties.
You're rushing to ban use of coal cos of global warming to please the WEST whereas same WEST is utilizing coal for their own power generation.

nairalanda1:
I don't support any politican, I never and never will vote for tinubu, yet I beleive subsidy is bad.

Plus in 2012, most of you who were supporting the other guys were in the subsidy is bad religion. How far?

Nigeria cannot afford a subsidy because we don't have a diversifed economy, a good enough revenue from tax, and a corruption free government, as well as an industrial sector. All these means that any time subsides are around, we always end up spending our reserve, our earned money, and even the money we take as loans on subsidy...and it means we take more debt, which makes things worse.

Let's even say we subsidise fuel to N600 per liter from the N1300 it is at now. At 60 million liters, it's going to cost..42 billion naira daily assuming gvernment spends 700 naira , which is the minnum they can spend for subsides. That amounts to...15 trillion yearly. And that is depdending on if the cost of crude does not go up from where it is at now. If it does, we could be spending 30 trillion or more eventually

Where is that money going to come from? There is no budgetfor subsidy, and right now, any benefits from oil price increase, the money will come, but not immediately, so tha tmeans that it would come from the budget...60 trillion. And to fill that hole we are going to borrow.

And guess what, smuggling is going to resume. And let us be real...there is no way that any government that subsidises fuel can stop smuggling. GHaddafi was using jet fighters to bomb smugglers in 2008. They just took cover and waited till the planes got back to base, and resumed trading (and weapons are finite). SO, guess what, our consumption would shoot up to 100 million barrels per day, which amounts to...21 trillion yearly. Again that depends on if crude oil prices don't rise....and our budget is 60 trillion naira.

Because the worst case scenairo is crude rising to 120 -130 dollars per barrel, and subsidy costs rising as well...meaning we could be essentually spending money like a river just to keep fuel at N600. We would think we are enjoying, but we are using tomorrow's money, infact our grandkids money to eat today.

And when we borrow, we worsen the already bad debt we have. When oil prices go down, that is when the real koko starts...no money to pay for anything. That's when the emperor has no clothes. That's when subsides would be sustained by borrowing, and salaries would get delayed.

And our reserve would get drained to the bones (that's why Jona wanted to remove subsides in 2011, because he was being warned about what would happen idf we did not...but nigerians said no. ).

That is why some of us are scared of subsidy. It has nothing to do with who is in government...and it annoys me when people sit down and call someone government supporter because they support subsidy removal. It has everything to do with the debt situation and not making it even worse, and keeping domestic refining profitable, so that we don';t go back to where we were after 1994, when government was taking NNPC's maintenance and upgrade costs to help pay for subsidy with predictable results.
You're tired of licking DISCOs boots.

nairalanda1:
Yeah it is hard. And yeah, I blame IBB for not removing fuel subsides in 1993. Instead government and even the then opposition went on propaganda campaign saying IMF dey oppress us.

By 1993, we were refining 400000 bpd in 4 refineries. At the time, the experts could see that we won't be able to refine crude with a subsidy in place. It HAD TO GO. But we refused to listen. The result was that by 1994, because it was becoming difficult to pay subsides and pay for production and maintenance costs at the same time, government chose to pay for subsides, and stopped paying for maintenance costs.

Results...no TAM for over 10 years. By the time GEJ tried to award contract for TAM In 2012, it was too late (Yeah, I heard GEJ awared the contract to a funny company, but even if he had awarded it to a INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED COMPANY with a TRACK RECORD OF 2000 YEARS xperience, you can't fix 10 or more years of neglect.

I mean, one American pastor once bought a new car and drove it sparingly, without maintenance, for several years. Even parked it for long periods of time. By the time he took the car for maintenance, after not driving it for over a year, it was scrap.

Same thing with our refineries...by 2012 they wer eproducing 91000 bpd...less than 10% of our refining needs....and we were importing most fuel and subsidsing it.

GEJ tried to remove subsidy, most nigerians, INCLUDING HIS SUPPORTERS...SAID NO.

BY 2019, refinereis were down to refining 6000 bpd. Yet, most nigerians refused to remove subsidy...By now, we had been using loans to pay for subsides for over ten years, and it got worse...to the point that by 2022, we were out of money, and debt was eating most of the government revenue, and Buhari was printing money to pay for subsides

So here we are. If you supported subsidy , then you are to blame. Forget politics, forget tinubu...who also supported subsidy until IMF essentially forced him to remove it...forget gej forget obi.

We could have had 4 working NNPC refineries, and a host of private refineries IF SUBSIDY HAD GONE IN 1993.
You like talking jargons. From electricity, you've jumped to Petrol.
