Car TalkRe: FRSC Set To Roll Out Digital Driver’s Licences In Nigeria by HenryWilliams(m): 8:47am On Oct 21, 2025
nwirinedu post=137196640:
This is what happens when you decide to centralize printing of licences
, using cronies who hire incompetent staff and are illequipped.
The same mistake has been repeated on international passports , people have to wait up to 2 years to get drivers license and passports if they don't pay bribes to corrupt staff.
Drivers license that in some countries you can just walk up to a machine and print in less than 5 minutes.

Nigeria we hell.
This is the main problem.
Over centralization of everything to Abuja.
Anyway Lagos will break that monopoly..
We did that with Number plate..
Well do the same with Driver's license.
Lagos will soon start issuing it's own license using its own printing system..
Driver's license would now be ready within days..

DomPerignon:
Out of the mouth, the abundance of the heart speaks.

So Lagos is now your promised land by divine right from God to alleviate you Ibos above the owners of the land.

This thing you guys are doing with your untrained and mannerless mouths will backfire on you all.

The pogroms in the north did not just start one day.

Northerners had been bearing your collective insults on them for years prior to the coup of Jan 15.

Even afterthe coup, your people increased the insults and baragging on the mourning northerners.

Look what the result of that collective stupidity and how no one extended a shred of sympathy to you.

Yorubas will not go the way of the north but they will use every legal means to frustrate you back to your place as a migrant economic settler that you are.

Imagine a major tribe misbehaving everywhere.
This is the koko and unfortunately a double edged sword.
On one hand, the North knows and have perfected ways to checkmate them...by culling their herd every decade or so.. this has made the Igbos sit up and comport themselves in Hausaland.Since then, Hausawa hasn't had any more upstarts with them claiming land and political power.
On the other hand, the SW isn't cut out for ethic cleansing of that nature. It's not that it can't be done, simply goes against the Yoruba ethos (which Igbo term cowardice)and thus lies the rub.
The igbos shortly after the war realized that Yoruba wasn't cut from the same cloth with Hausawa in respect to dealing decisively with them(culling )and they took full advantage of the somewhat placid and accommodating nature of the Yoruba as their kind are wont to do.
Now it appears that accommodating nature has finally been eroded and teeth are bared.
I sincerely hope and pray we don't go the Hausawa way with them..
They won't survive it.

FamilyRe: Woman Cries Out For Help As Her Husband Take Their 5 Children Away From Her(vid) by HenryWilliams(m): 11:03pm On Oct 18, 2025
NemoDatQuod:
It is good to be consistently objective. She kidnapped those kids first and took them away from their father. Their father has now retaliated. That is good. Now she should go and do what she should have done in the first place i.e invite the Family court to mediate between her and her husband on how they will both take responsibility for their kids, including where the kids will live and when.

She had no right to have taken the kids in the first place. When relationships between two citizens fail or get into trouble, you invite law enforcement. Ask her to go to family court who will then ensure that she and her husband have an equal "joy" in having the kids and raising them. She should stop making noise in public.

We should also use this opportunity to educate especially women on this. The child does not belong to you alone.Always invite the courts if and when you and your spouse cannot reach an amicable agreement on where and how often your kids should be with each of you, after separation or divorce.
They don't like hearing that .
In their heads, the child belongs to them alone to raise, and if they can't cope with financial struggle,.they go on SM to start capping nonsense about the man not being responsible.

FamilyRe: My Newly Married Wife Took in and Had Refused To Copulate by HenryWilliams(m): 6:45am On Oct 17, 2025
You have unknowingly married an iceberg.
And it would get colder as your marriage (if it lasts) goes along.
The technical word is FRIGID.
They don't like sex or male touch. They aren't necessarily gay or anything. They're just wired that way.
They can survive years without sex or intimacy.
In Western Countries, they're the ones that become Old Cat Lady or that spinster Librarian or that old primary school teacher that never got married.
After this pregnancy, forget touching her again
She just got this pregnancy as to make people comot eye for her matter
That's why sex before marriage helps to weed out such undesirables early on without the messy complications after marriage.

Oga stop being so negative. Even if it’s not concrete, people that were not thinking before are now thinking. Shell just confirmed $2b invested yesterday. Qatar just announced $300b investment commitment in Nigeria over the next 10yrs.

For Gods sake you can criticize the govt and acknowledge the gains. Not every time politics. At the end of the day, whether you support Tinubu or Obi, they will come and go and Nigeria will remain. It’s Nigerians That will enjoy or suffer whether or not investors come to Nigeria or not. Celebrate any investment irrespective of who is in power because the investors don’t ask who you support when they create the jobs.

What’s wrong with you people?
Keep ranting and supporting a useless and failed government.

Fortunately, a child is made by both a man and a woman. When she is done crying, she should go find the father of the child, either put him on child support immediately, or give the child over to him to raise, and have the authorities aware of this, so anything that happens to that child will not go uninvestigated. undecided
Imagine the audacity.
So the child with her isn't risky enough,
It's only when the child is with the father that you alert the authorities? See thinking?

Then why isn't the ex Minister charged to court?
All these corrupt politicians.. when they get outted using fake certificates ..why aren't they prosecuted? They just resign and everything is swept under the carpet and no one hears anything about it again till the next corrupt politician is exposed?

Most of them went overboard and started erecting semi permanent block buildings and even encroached on the wetlands nearby.
The Lekki Automobile Association is made up of Nigerians alike including Igbo, they all unanimously agreed they messed up and owned up. Seems the Igbos in that association get sense pass the others.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Licenses New Discos, Replaces Eko, Ikeja Electric by HenryWilliams(m): 2:51pm On Oct 08, 2025
nairalanda1:
This does not change anything.

The elephant in the room is the massive subsidy on power, and the underpaying of discos by a large percentage of nigerians. As well as the fact that at least 30% of nigerians do not pay for power, and less than 20% of nigerians actually pay above market price.

No matter how many times you change discos and gencos, the problem will still remain.

And anytime discos cut power, nigerians use violent means to intimidate them to restore power,or bribery, and the power theft and underpaying continues.

And we expect a sector that made less than 360 million pounds sterling equivalent last year to be like the UK power sector that made about 1 billion pounds annually in the last 4 years.?

Nigerians self. Even Aso rock is running away from the grid...as are many Nigerians, meaning customers are also reducing..

And we expect 24 hour light. Okay....call me when you wake up from the dream that you travelled to London after buying airplane ticket for N1000 only. cheesy
When there is damage to the transformers, wires and poles, are the customers meant to fix them from their own pocket?
When you arbitrarily upgrade areas to band A without commensurate increase in power supply, who pays for that?
When customers have paid for prepaid meters since last year yet no supply of the item despite collecting money and meters are in stock.. what do you call that?
When the energy price cap for estimated billing fixed by NERC is routinely ignored and crazy bills are distributed across board, whose fault is that>
You keep highlighting the sins of customers but leave the DISCOs blameless s if they're saints.
let DISCOs meter the populace, then you'll see the improvement,
as long as you hoard the meters and share crazy bills, people will bypass the system.

Blocks of houses already shared to Commissioners ,Special Advisers and PS.
The low to mid level civil servant can't access it.
They'll rather sell to deep pocket people who sublet to others.
It's such a shame that so many civil servants can't afford homes cos of this..
The housing scheme that Jakande built over 40 years ago is STILL being occupied. Successive governments have failed in that aspect.
All the new housing estates being built are not for civil servants anymore.

My President has spoken and the keyboard workers can now react to receive their stipend

The fact is whoever becomes the next President from the North, East or South-South after Tinubu whether in 2027 or 2031 must ensure Lagos is redistributed across Nigeria...how?

...by ensuring International Airports and Seaports are 100% functional in other parts of the country; if I can return to Australia by flying through my State Airport in Akwa-Ibom and I can send some goods through Ibom-deep seaport, tell me wetin go carry my leg go Lagos when I have the business minded Igbos surrounding my State.

As much as I have soft spot for GEJ, he messed up big time by not making it mandatory for Seaports and International Airports to be functional 100% in the South-South.

Australia with little less than 28million people has about 70 functional Seaports and 13 international airports.

What kind of Mumu leaders do we have from other regions who are so comfortable with the status-quo; allowing for the major ingredient of development to be in one Bleep..ing state and yet comfortable with it.

This must change, only a change will shut some people up finally
Australia is a subcontinent with a very wide spread. It's bound by all sides by water, so obviously it would have lots of seaports,
The whole country is a damn contingent. I'm even surprised they have just a handful of international airports.
You want to compare that with Nigeria?
If you place 20 seaports across the shoreline..
Of what benefit would it be..how much importation do we actually do?
Or is it just for bragging rights..that my state has seaport?

If he tried that, some regions of the country would scream he's murdering their people.
The same people that are being killed, rendered homeless and orphans in IDP camps in their own country. Terrorists and killers in plain sight..doing deals with them..peace talks with kidnappers and murderers..all in the North, yet the South has to bear the cost of this shenanigan.
The Nigerian Army can't do shishi, they're heavily compromised and filled to the brim with fifth columnists.
It requires external help..
Help that is really available if only we ask but the powers that be won't entertain such for obvious reasons.

Basic:
I'm not surprised one bit. And a lot more of similar incidents should be expected over time.

I've always respected Igbos for their resilience, creativity, and business acumen. That traditional business mentorship strategy that involves sending an Igbo boy to Lagos to work with an established boss who in turn establishes him after some years is one of the most effective business schooling systems I've ever known of.

But the problem now is, most Igbo youths of today want to be like the Igbo big men who went through that system BUT are not ready to go through the system themselves. Many of them now prefer to waste their time on social media and argue over frivolous topics. And when the issue of making money comes up, they start chasing shadows and want the easier way out -- not the system that has worked for successful Igbos for years.
Why not send him to Abuja or Sokoto or Benue? Why Lagos, why the very place hostile to igbo business? Or it's written somewhere in Igbo DNA, only Lagos can make y'all successful?
You lot better start changing the destination to send those boys for apprenticeship, preferably a non SW city for starters.
