You think carrying soilders from Nigeria to bukina faso is like booking uber, Abi you don’t know there are other countries in between. Any country that allows their territory to be used to attack another country becomes a legitimate target.
And you think Nigeria will go it alone?
It will go with ECOWAS mandate requiring all partner states to protect the integrity of the other.
AES is no longer in ECOWAS so Nigeria is free to deploy militarily against them. Attacking Benin or Ghana would spell their doom as those countries will gladly send in their troops.
All in all it's going to be a regional war between the AES block and Nigeria/Benin /Ghana block.
This has nothing to do with France as those AES will have their regimes cut short and civilian rule returned.
Traore and his band of misfits are playing with fire. Whatever military support they're expecting from Russia would definitely disappoint them in the end
I don't see AES retaining their military junta next year
PoliticsRe: Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing With Fire By Detaining Nigerian Soldiers by HenryWilliams(m): 12:04pm On Dec 14, 2025
Mankind2024:
Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing with Fire by Detaining Nigerian Soldiers
Many people underestimate the capabilities of the Nigerian military and what it could mean for the government of Burkina Faso under Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Don't be misled by Nigeria's ongoing internal security challenges—fighting Fulani herdsmen clashes, kidnappers, bandits, and jihadist insurgents in the North, or separatist agitation in the East involving IPOB and unknown gunmen. These are asymmetric insurgencies, complicated by local sympathies and complex socio-political dynamics that make total eradication difficult without massive collateral impact. No advanced military in the world easily wins such protracted internal wars.

In stark contrast, a direct confrontation with Burkina Faso would be conventional (symmetric) warfare. The Nigerian Armed Forces—Africa's largest by personnel, with superior airpower, logistics, and combat experience—have the overwhelming potential to overrun Burkina Faso's smaller military and, if provoked far enough, enforce regime change in Ouagadougou.

Dismiss any notion that Russia's support for Traoré would deter this. Nigeria could establish theater commands in neighboring countries like Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, and Togo for a multi-front operation, leveraging regional alliances and superior resources.

This detention risks escalating a diplomatic incident into something far more dangerous. Traoré's supporters—often vocal online pan-Africanists and certain political factions—may cheer the bravado now, but they would have plenty to lament if things spiral out of control.
OP. Don't be surprised by the Hate coming from your fellow Nigerians. These are the unpatriotic elements (especially from a particular section of the country) spewing forth negatives just to run the country down.
Their hatred for Tinubu translates to supporting Burkina Faso. See as they shamelessly support an illega junta holding 11 Nigerian soldiers captive.
You can't see such happening anywhere in the world except Nigeria. Ever since the successful thwarting of the Benin Rep coup, they've ramped up their vitriol on X, opening supporting Traore to imprison or even kill Nigerian soldiers.
Even if the Nigerian plane entered their airspace unannounced, does that give Burkina Faso the right to detain them this long just to show off bravado? No one is saying what Nigeria did was right but refusing international mediation for prompt release so as to milk the situation for what it's worth and show off as being a power is totally off it. Their time never reach.
Whatever you may think of Nigeria, Burkina Faso and the entire AES coalition is no match for us, Boko-haram or ISWAP be damned. Nigeria is the only regional superpower in West Africa and most of Sub Sahara Africa.
Nigeria won't be rushed into acting rashly. She will continue to pursue mediation and dialogue until that's longer becomes feasible, then Nigeria will act forcefully as it is her right to do so.
Anyone hoping or believing that Russia would join BF to fight Nigeria must be naive indeed.

It's called demand and supply; when the demand for a service or goods goes up without a corresponding increase in its supply, the price of that service or goods will therfore increase.
This is asinine justification and you know it.
The demand during Xmas period is always there. It's nothing new.
There's no increase in jet fuel price at the moment nor any significant increase in customers.
This phenomenon also applies to the road transportation. There's no petrol price increase, no scarcity.. nothing yet the prices are jacked up over 200%.

It's no rocket science.
Anyone living in Nigeria knows why.
1. Increased estimated billing
2. More areas pushed to Band A.

There's no magic to anything they're doing.
They push the maintenance of equipment to the consumers. Consumers buy wire, pole, transformers..just about anything.
They've increased the estimated billing to record highs and in Lagos, you can count the number of districts on Band B,C and D in one hand, the rest have been discreetly bumped up to Band A without any significant increase in electricity
It's a shame we have a weak dog in NERC.
PS: i thought Lagos State canceled those twin cancers, Ikeja and Eko Electric..why are they still in operation?

This morning's gridlock is a daily, painful reminder that we are treating a critical national infrastructure issue as a Lagos traffic problem. The solution lies far beyond Lagos, in political will and strategic investment at the national level.

Decongesting Lagos isn't just about building more roads or bridges it's about decentralizing economic pressure. Establishing and making fully operational ports like Onne, Warri, Calabar, Lekki Deep Sea Port to function at capacity, and developing new ones in other regions

Trailers take a significant percentage of heavy cargo traffic off Lagos bridges and roads.
This isn't the solution to Lagos Traffic situation.
More and more people stream into Lagos cos of economic growth and stability. Lagos is peaceful and conducive for business. It's not today Lagos have been experiencing traffic jam. The human and vehicular population is alarming, mind boggling..over 20 million people and 3mil plus cars within the smallest state by landmass..what were you expecting?
Don't bring any excuse of seaports being the cause of Lagos Traffic congestion.

This is why japan needs to open up to immigration. An african caregiver would have continued caring for her without complaints as long as he/she is well paid. You can't have an aging population because you refuse to have children and at the same time be anti immigration.
That's exactly the point
Not only Japan,
South Korea and most European countries also have that same problem.
They have a declining population with ridiculously low birthrates (1.26kids) and aging population.
When people suppose normally die by 70+, they keep living till 100 putting a serious financial and emotional strain on their kids.
White people and Mongoloids aren't that disposed to caring for their aged parents personally so they create old people's homes so they can tuck away their aged for others to deal with..
Unfortunately, the Blacks that can do the job are restricted from immigrating there..they rater allow Muslims and Arabs fill up their space just to be seen as politically correct.

Impactever:
How more biased can you be ?

You are simply a bloody liar.

Point of correction :

1. The Biafra -Nigeria Civil War was a genocide where over 3 million Biafrans were massacred by the Nigerian Federal Government Military Troops with the support of the Evil British Empire, USSR now Russia, and The United States who all has strategic interest in the abundant Crude oil Resources in the Biafran region.

The war as you described IT WAS NEVER BETWEEN NIGERIA AND THE BIAFRANS.

RATHER IT WAS 3 World Super Powers ( UK, RUSSIA , USA ) Combined together with the Nigeria Military to fight only the Biafrans.

2. The Biafrans never orchestrated any war.

Ojukwu never lured the Biafran to War. The War was brought to the Biafrans ...and they had no other option than to defend their land .

The war was brought to the Biafrans Shortly after some weeks that Biafra was peacefully and successfully created.

Note: Before the creation of Biafra, There was a Round -Table meeting , where All the Federations units that made up Nigeria all agreed and gave their support for the Creation of Biafra.

Biafra was also endorsed by all the African Countries at the Aburi Accord which held in Ghana.

The 2 major party involved signed a peace accord in Accra , Ghana

- The Federal Government of Nigeria, led by General Yakubu Gowon, and

- The Biafra Leader , led by Lt. Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
(The Ike-Mba 1 of Nnewi )

3. The Evil British empire brainwashed the Federal Government of Nigeria led by General Yakubu Gowon into launching an attack on the Biafrans .....out of their evil Desire to keep Nigeria united to protect her evil economic and political influence over Nigeria.

And most importantly, their Fear that Biafra’s secession might encourage other breakaway states in Africa..and they would lose control over their colonies in Africa..

Role of Foreign Countries in the Biafran–Nigeria Genocide (1967–1970)

🇬🇧 United Kingdom (Britain) – Supported Nigeria

Britain was Nigeria’s strongest international supporters.

Why Britain supported Nigeria:

Strategic interest in Nigerian oil, especially in the Niger Delta

Desire to keep Nigeria united to protect its economic and political influence

Fear that Biafra’s secession might encourage other breakaway states in Africa

What Britain provided:

Weapons, ammunition, and military advisors

Diplomatic support in the UN

Financial backing through continued oil operations

---

🇷🇺 Soviet Union (USSR) – Supported Nigeria

Surprisingly, the Soviet Union joined Britain in supporting Nigeria, an unusual Cold War alignment.

Why USSR supported Nigeria:

To expand influence in Africa during the Cold War

Nigeria’s large population and strategic relevance

Desire to counteract Western (especially French) influence

What they provided:

Heavy weapons (MiG fighter jets, artillery, armored vehicles)

Military technicians and training

---

🇺🇸 United States – Officially Neutral, Quietly Leaned Toward Nigeria

The U.S. claimed neutrality but diplomatically leaned toward supporting a unified Nigeria.

Why the U.S. held back:

Fear of being seen as supporting secession

Priority on keeping Nigeria stable as a major African nation

Domestic political concerns during the Vietnam War

The U.S. did not send major weapons.

---

🇫🇷 France – Supported Biafra (Indirectly)

France was Biafra's strongest international ally.

Why France supported Biafra:

To weaken British influence in West Africa

Humanitarian sympathy toward the Igbo

Oil interests in the Niger Delta

Fear of Soviet expansion in Nigeria

What France provided:

Weapons (usually through third parties like Ivory Coast)

Diplomatic pressure on behalf of Biafra

Support for Biafran propaganda in Europe

Portugal – Supported Biafra

Portugal controlled São Tomé and Príncipe (then a colony), which were used as air bases.

How Portugal helped:

Allowed Biafran relief and arms flights from São Tomé

Offered diplomatic support

Provided a route for foreign journalists to cover the war

Summary of Alignments

Pro-Nigeria

🇬🇧 Britain

🇷🇺 Soviet Union

🇪🇬 Egypt

🇺🇸 United States (unofficially)

Pro-Biafra

🇫🇷 France

🇵🇹 Portugal

🇨🇮 Ivory Coast

🇬🇦 Gabon

🇿🇦 South Africa (indirectly)

In summary, the war has nothing to do with Ojukwu, it was simply a genocide masterminded by the Western Forces to destabilize Nigeria and Control The Crude oil Resources in the Biafran Region.

So next time, don't use your tribal biased mindset in discussing History. ...it makes you look so unreasonable.
By the way you're talking, it would seem Biafra was on its own jeje and everyone just started picking on them.
You didn't start from Jan 1966 with Ironsi..
When the war started, what was the fate of the minorities in the Niger Delta? The ones your kind massacred.

The NSA will never give any governor the license to import AK-47s into Nigeria. The office of the NSA is one that the Fulani consistently makes sure is headed by a Fulani man in any administration.

Without a certificate for arm importation, no reputable arms company will agree to sell to you. The only option will be to buy from the black market or gun runners. Any governor that does that is guaranteed to be impeached by his house of assembly under pressure from Abuja.

Most of the guns in the arms of these bandits were stolen from the Nigerian army armoury. The day the president decides that a comprehensive audit of Nigerian army armouries nation wide, Nigerians will be shocked to discover that over 40% of its armoury contents have been looted.
The ONSA can't block any Governor if they wish to import fitearms for use in the States defense. Be it Fulani Director. All it takes is legislation from the HoA and Senate. Importation would be done and the Nigeria Police will take stock , train and issue license to the Vigilantes.

And how much did you get yours?
Under the law, only pump action rifle can be licensed/permitted for civilians. Any other kind of firearm is illegal. Dane guns were once allowed for local hunters to be used freely, now a license is also required (though not as enforced).
AK-47 and the likes are fully automatic assault rifles. The fear of an armed civilian populace led the Military Govt to ban such, it simply got carried over by the civilian govt. National Service was meant to be 2 years military service for citizens above 18 to get the citizenry fit and combat ready for any external aggression. The Military Govt also fearing a combat ready and weapon aware population turned it into 1 year of useless service that has outlived it's usefulness.
You can't legally buy that weapon (AK-47) and get it licensed in Nigeria so stick with the pump action or get illegal handguns for protection.
