It is not too difficult to call when you have watched and coached many games you will know how to separate the wheat from the chaff. Also, the coach seems confused at the moment Caicedo is still unfit why not ease him in and play Ugochukwu? Then why play Gallagher as 6 and Enzo ahead of him when he's not good at receiving the pass and dictating play from deep? Why play Chillwell as a winger when you have Sterling and Madueke available? We should have kept Lukaku since there's no experience striker available and Broja is injured.

What you said about him not being super impressive but just doing his job properly is what made him so good. He also in my opinion made Xavi and Iniesta better knowing he would be there to cover gave them more freedom to attack in possession and also allowed them to stay in more dangerous positions out of possession.
