Congratz on your successful POE mummybee.

mummybee:
So here's my transcript (I hope it doesn't wipe off again)
Left naija on Thursday, flew Emirates airline with a toddler. Traveling with a toddler is no joke! Almost lost my voice from shouting. I immediately asked for an extra seat immediately we boarded which I got. Can't imagine putting him on my lap throughout with my long belle.

Fast forward to Dubai.
Connecting flight was for an hour...we were almost the last to board. Just at the boarding gate, I was asked for my fit-to-fly which I handed out. The lady kept looking at me and called one of her bosses. That one too kept staring at the letter, then the lady asked him if I could fly at 33wks (shuooo, the devil is a liar!) me sef kuku started staring at the man with one kain eyes, he eventually said I should go.
Immediately we boarded, I asked for an extra seat, well I got 2 extra seats. I just raised the arms of the chairs and voila! A nice bed space for my son. I suffered eye redness as I couldn't sleep all through, all thanks to my son with his Indian friends playing and screaming on board. The free WiFi helped though as I was able to chat with DH throughout the journey.

Fast forward to houston POE...the queue no be here ooo. Almost felt like fainting but thank God I didn't. No pity for preggy Momma.
Me: hello
Cpb: hello (with a strong face)
CBP: why are you here
Me: to have my baby and for vacation
CBP: passports please
CBP: place your four fingers for scanning
CBP: how much cash do you have on you
Me: 7,400
CBP: what do you do
Me: i'm an interior designer
Cbp: any food stuffs
Me: yes
Cbp: okay step aside, an officer will come get you

Off to secondary inspection:
Met a lot of people there and I kept wondering when i'd be called. DH kept calling my phone, I couldn't pick as no phones were allowed.
I walked up to an officer and said 'Yes I'm here' she was like, I didn't call you. (oh! Apparently I called myself...sincerely, I thought I heard my name) as I was about to turn, she asked if I was expecting
Me: yes
CBP: when is your due date
Me: july
CBP: when did you apply for your visa
Me: July 2014
CBP: when is it gonna expire
Me: July 2016
CBP: okay, go have your seat
Just then another officer came out to ask if people were hungry...some raised their hands. I was too tho but I kept observing. He said okay, if you want food make sure you write your name on this list which was then passed round **for my mind! I said their Fada...sorry I mean their Dad..lol. Esu oni gba ibi ounje ti mumi. Devil get thee behind me! Make dem no deport pelzon ontop sey we chop
5mins later, I was called
CBP: how did you know about the hospital
Me: well, I had my first child there
CBP: really?!, do you have your receipts
Me: of course (tried reaching for them)
CBP: how much do you have on you
Me: 7,400 and my debit card
CBP: i'm aware getting PTA in Nigeria is tough
Me: oh yes! (Ehen, thank God u are aware)
CBP: where does your Hubby work
Me: told her
CBP: did you declare at the embassy initially that..
Me: *cuts in* of course, told them I'm coming to have my baby.
CBP: okay, please don't receive any medicaid and try attach your receipt with other documents when applying via drop box for update
Me: okay, will
CBP: enjoy your stay....i was stamped in for 6 months
N.B visa will expire in less than 2 months

Off to Agric: just my garlic was seized. I had all sorts..cray fish, pap, knorr chicken, garri, dried fish e.t.c.

Well, there's no big deal about Houston POE as long as you don't misrepresent. Goodluck dearies

Congratz on your successful entry. However, in the spirit of giving back, it will be applauded and important you post your POE transcript like others do for us to read. I believe you and many of us learnt from couple of persons POE experience from there transcript posts in here. I would have expected you do same. This thread was based on that bedrock, learning from each other. I don't think the likes of Lady G and all the beautiful women, mums, dad, mums to be etc with their lovely comments/assistance so far will proffer answers to your question(s) if you don't do the needful. My thoughts though....

DeeUzor:
Hello house, been following this thread for a few months although I never commented. Thanks to the information I got on here, I was able to successfully scale through Immigration at LAX POE last Saturday...although I was held for about 7 hours but they had no choice but to release me as I was well prepared.
My question now is I need recommendations for hospitals in/around Fontana, California. My initial plan was to give birth in Texas and I had concluded arrangements with the doctor there. But California is more convenient for me as I got a very beautiful free accommodation.
So...please I will appreciate any and all recommendations.
Thanks

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4

isysleek:
My people pls a random question.

1. My visa is in my old passport. I have a new passport and I have done change of name. When travelling, all I need is to present both passports(expired old one passport with visa and new passport with surname changed).

2.Please when travelling to London for instance, with your toddler, do I have to carry any document to show I the mum? Eg birth cert. Tho I have changed my name so our surnames are the same.

Since I'm not going with hubby, just my lil one, does hubby need to write a consent letter saying he's her dad and consents to my travelling with her.

Questions may sound silly but pls I need answers.

Please note that this trip is to London not America.

Thanks pple.

Now, this is confusing, Your story or your friend's story? Was it you all along? Plus your(friend) initial transcript at the 1st POE denial(cos there might be a second. lol), you claimed that you have 7k dollars, and then in your response to the VO at the interview of the later visa application you claimed you have 14k dollars. Can you clarify all of this conflicting responses?

Me:was returned at Chicago point of entry, cos officer on duty said I don't AV enough money, meanwhile I had 14k dollars nd den I was 32weeks so e adviced my visa will b cancelled so I can re apply but make sure I pay my bills
Vo:AV u done so now?nd do u AV proof

Vo:how did u make payment?
Me:husband transferred to hospital acc AV the teller slip

Thanks to God for a successful journey to and fro. Thank God for a smooth delivery and thank you to everyone who helped and contributed to the success of this forum. Thank you ozycy.

I returned back to Nigeria last week after 6 weeks in America on this missionary journey.

All bills were as expected at Oakland using Dr. Ezekiel according to ozycy bill in PART 2 of this thread.

Got baby Birth certificate 5 days after delivery
SSN came in 7 days after delivery
Blue Pali the next 7 days after delivery
Nigerian visa through tanko on the 10th day after delivery all excluding weekend.

BA made some mistakes on baby's ticket couldn't travel on the expected date but was compensated by checking in all our 13 bags including car seat all for free.

To God alone be all the glory.

Absolutely. it will generate issue at the POE. It will be treated as misrepresentation and non-disclosure of information. A change of intent letter might suffix but I doubt if its the best option. I'll advise you call their customer representative.

luckyman23:
please give me an advice on the best approach going forward. I was not asked whether I was pregnant at the interview. would a change of intent be okay.

@Ccemordi, I am sorry if you perceived me to be judgmental. I was only stating a sincere suggestions. Like Justwise said
, please stick around.

ccemordi:
@LadyGuinivere, @herrik066, @justwise, @happytbaby, Thank you all for your response and advise .. really appreciate it.

@all.. Let me use this opportunity to clarify what i noticed on this thread.. My decision for my wife to have our second baby in the U.S started last month and i contacted an agent to help with the process until i found this wonderful forum... Now to my main point.. Even though we appreciate our Gurus in the house please try not to discourage the newbies in the house.. The fact that we post questions that you find very easy to answer doesn't mean its easy for all .. (Some people see 2 +2 = 4 simple question but others will find it difficult to answer) .. My Point is... PLEASE if you are fortunate to know something others don't know.. Don't make them feel horrible.. Your strong point might be someone else weak point viz versa....If this continue then a lot of us here will be scared to ask questions so as not to be humiliated and the main purpose of this forum will be defeated ( to Educated one another)

@herrik066 please don't be quick to judge tongue Inbtw i have read this part 4 50plus pages posts two times and my question was not just for me but for all the house member to benefit..I bet a lot of the housemates learnt one or two things from your responses

Thank you @all

Answers to this question would have been found if you had taken time to read past threads and pages or at least few pages on this thread. I posted my transcript wit respect to my visa and DW's. I'll leave you to find out the outcome by doing a little more research. Just go few pages back. There is an important need for us to appreciate this thread as some questions have been over flogged. I didn't have to ask a question before going for my visa interview as I read many of the questions, answers and experiences from thread 1 to 4. I hope this will assist you.

Hello House, I need an advise about something that am not clear on.. I planned for my wife to have our second baby in the U.S and was planning for her to go alone since myself , our first and her work will be a strong tie for her to want to return after child birth ( I am the sponsor) but my friend who recently got her visa said we should apply together since my wife would be having a C-section and my presence there would be to help her before and after child birth.. My question ..... Is our first child and my logistic business and her work enough tie to convince the VO Should in case we apply together or should i let her apply alone..

The Gurus in the house can advise me on this one PLEASE embarassed

Babyidj01:
Good day house,

Just a quick question please, I got my b1/b2 visa in August 2014, used it for my 1st baby December 2014 and got back to nigeria January 2015.

My visa expires August 2016 and am currently pregnant with my 2nd baby, intending to travel 1st week of July because baby is due mid-August and get back to nigeria end of September.

Do I renew my visa knowing fully well my visa expires a month to my entering the USA, if yes, why please and if no, kindly state your reasons

Never heard of people using the same visa for 2 deliveries. Please help, what do I expect and say at the POE about this?

Thank you my good people

My(DW and I) visa interview this morning. Simple, straight and no hassle. Total time spent was 4mins.

VO: Morning, please scan your finger prints. Where you going?

ME: Houston TX

VO: What is your purpose of travelling?

Me: Vacation and childbirth

VO: Have you travelled before

Me: Yes, Ghana

VO: Have you contacted a doctor?

Me: Yes, we have

VO: Can I see any correspondence?

Me: (Gave her my doctor correspondences, hospital correspondences as well as our budget sheet.)

VOsadlooking through the docs and steering at DW's finger and mine for wedding rings I guess, kos her passport still bears her maiden name.

VO: Where will you be staying?

Me: We will be staying with a close family friend

VO: Can I see your account statement?

Me: (Gave her my statement of account and DW's statement of account too)

VO: Where do you work?

Me: I work with xxxxx as a xxxxx ( I went ahead to explain my job roles)

VO: How long have you been working there?

Me: For x years

VO: okay( turns to DW, and scanned finger prints)

VO: Where do you work?

DW: I work with xxxxx as a procurement xxxx

Vo: What do you procure?(typing at the same time)

DW: We procure xxxxxxxx and xxxxxxx

VO: Your visas have been granted, but please note that you might be cajoled to accepting a free health care plan, make sure you don't accept one. make all your payments and get a zero balance. Have a lovely day (smiles)

DW and I: You too, thank you.

This guy is just too correct. Every line was a hitz. Back 2 back!!!!

bigfido:
So I also read about renting a car. Here's my advise to you people.

1) if you know you didn't go to a proper driving school here, please don't attempt to rent a car. You might end up presenting driving tickets and receipt of payment as your hospital receipt when you want to renew your visa.

2) do you know road signs very well? The ones written on the floor? If you don't, buy slate for kewu, and start practising it. Just be reciting it like you are learning kewu in Ile kewu.

3) Google maps.. Please learn how to use GPS very well and if you don't have Eztag please always avoid tolls. If you enter one and you see purple light, no, it's not disco light, it's gbese waiting for you in the mail box

4) speed limit in school areas... It's very important to adhere to it. If you see a school bus park and you see the brake light blinking, please just stop behind the bus.. If the bus doesn't move, don't move or overtake it o. If its there for 1hr, just open nairaland to keep yourself entertained

5) Yield. You need to learn this one very well, or else, accident. And insurance is not sere sere

6) make sure you get a proper insurance. It is better than to stammer incase anything happens.

Good luck people

Would just take the next flight to Lag , enter lag before calling him & just hide in my MIL's bedroom till baby come.... grin cheesy

Frenemies plenty, nor be me person go laugh, but God didn't abdicate the throne, it was the wait that was long & nerve wracking, the main interview wasn't so bad..

However on my return journey back to naija with baby, dem still go lay siege for plane mouth, planning to cancel Visa if i use medicare (& maybe collect "dem" pikin) but my receipt was in my hand luggage, so e pain dem small!! Nor be me, if dem plan to catch today, na next week be their portion..

If not what happened in 1914 would repeated have itself!! tongue

Goodday all,am new on this platform.i recently got a visa to the us for vacation with my family.during the interview, the lady asked if we were going to see the doc while on vacation we said no.she also asked if we were expecting a baby soon,we said no though am about 3wks pregnant.our plan was to travel for vacation first then i will go back for delivery when am due.but because of the rate of dollars now is it possible for me to delay my travelling till when am ready to deliver?please i urgently need advise.

thank you.

Misrepresentation is an offence. My dear, you lied. This isn't good at all. You should have just said you are 3 weeks pregnant and you will go for delivery when you are due. That's honesty. I am angry for you. As a true Nigeria, enough of the mud dragging of this our dear country.
