ILIDEFI:
Doctors are not saying that JOHESU members are unimportant. They are only saying that everybody is not equal. All health workers can't be treated equally. It's impossible.
And lemme ask you, why do you guys lock up everywhere when you go on strike? You guys should endeavour to leave all hospital property as you go on your strikes, and see what doctors can achieve with medical students.
Again, is it not amazing that when only doctors go on strike, hospitals are shut down, but when the rest of the workers (over 90% of the work force) go on strike, skeletal services are rendered. It means that NMA alone matches up to over 7 or more JOHESU groups. Therefore each JOHESU group should only receive 1/7 of doctors' benefits. Hehehe
I so much love this comment mehn..
All men re born equal but some re more equal than d other postnatally..
Health › Re: Johesu Strike: Why The Public Silence? by heykims(m): 6:55am On Nov 24, 2014
The fact is dt when d NMA was on strike, all hospital activities were on standstill, no patient could be attended to by d now called consultant nurses, pharmacist, consultant orderlies nd d security consultants.
But to a little extent now dt d JOHESU is now on strike, doctors re still attending to patients in federal hospitals especially d emergency life-threatening cases.
This is probably d reason why d cry of the patients dt have been denied healthcare services has been submerged nd many re really suffering in silence. Also, the secondary nd primary health institutions re yet to join d strike.
I think JOHESU is just trying to take her time coz if they push d matter too much, Nigerians will surely tag them with unpleasant names as they did with NMA. The union has learnt lessons from NMA strike nd d negative reaction of d masses though NMA still largely achieved its objectives.

Guy..don't define a course of study by its name....Are you trying to say Dental students study only oral diseases in a period of six years? or Optometry peeps study only the eye in the same period of time....I still wonder why medicine is so over hyped in Nigeria
Lemme let u know why medicine is hyped.
In medical school, u will be trained to be come a general practitioner which means u av to be familiar wt all aspects of medicine nd as such u sud be able to confront any health issues to a reasonable extent before u consider referal to a specialist if need be.
Hence, a medical student must be grounded in knowledge and skill in ALL branches of medcine s beginning from d basic medical scienes as in anatomy, physiology nd chemistry, then other branches as in
pathology nd pharmacology
internal medcine- cardiology, endocrinology, gastro enterology nd many more
surgery- general, plastic, orthopaedic nd lots more
Others are obstetrics nd gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, ophthamology, radiology, orthorhinolaryngology, anesthesiology, community medicne...
And it isnt just about having d idea, u must prove ursef competent in their and basic skills hence u re subjected not just to paper examinations but also clinical assessments nd also oral examinations called VIVA
NB: u dont pass in medical schools, u only satisfy d examiners
U cud see d breakdown of what one will go tru in medicine is enough to scare one away..
For those already battling in its undergraduatehood nd d aspiring-to-be doctors , i say BEST OF LUCK!!

Optometry is the same duration as medicine and the fact that it involves human eye.. .you know the rest
Medical students rotate through ophthalmology too in their clinical years in school nd it is even imbibed in their professional MBBS exam..
And here, it isnt just about examining for refractive errors nd prescribing glasses, u ve got to be equipped wt all eye diseases nd their management, surgical modalities inclusive..

Politics › Pdp’s, Omisore’s Witness: I Didn’t Observe Rigging by heykims(op): 8:25am On Nov 19, 2014
Bola Ajao, the first witness of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in
the August 9 governorship election in Osun
State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, yesterday gave
evidence before the Election Petition
Tribunal.
Ajao, who is the PDP Secretary, told the
tribunal that voters were allowed to be
accredited and voted freely in the election.
He was cross-examined by counsel to
Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the All
Progressives Congress (APC) and the
Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), Charles Edosonwan, Yomi Aliu, and
Ayotunde Ogunleye.
Ajao said his claim on the alleged rigging of
the election was not witnessed by him,
adding, “I was told by my party agents”.
Responding to questions from Edonsonwan,
he said: “I got to my Ward 8, Unit 9 of
Ifelodun Local Government at 6:30 am on
the election day, accreditation started by
8am and voting started at 12:30 pm.
“I passed through the same process and I
voted on that day. I did not leave my unit
until after the election. My party lost in my
polling unit. My testimonies on other units
that our party is challenging are based on
what I was told by my agents. I was not
there.
“Omisore contested for a senatorial slot in
2011, but lost along with other party
candidates. We did not challenge the
election in court. I don’t know the number
of polling units we are challenging.”
While being cross-examined by INEC’s
counsel, Ajao said he followed all the
processes required from accreditation to
voting, adding that after accreditations,
people were allowed to vote.
In his answer to the question from APC
counsel, the witness confirmed to the
tribunal that the result sheets for each of the
local governments in contention were
signed by PDP supervisors on the election
day.
The second and third witnesses, Kolapo
Sikiru and Gbadebo Adeyemo, who claimed
to be PDP ward supervisors in Ward 1 and
Ward 2 of Osogbo Local Government,
confirmed that their polling agents signed
the result forms for each of the units, except
for a few.
Contrary to his claim that the result sheets of
unit 2,3,4 and 5 of Ward 2 were not signed
by his party agent, as deposed to in his
witness statement, Gbadebo was
confronted with the duplicate result for the
units that were tendered by the petitioners’
counsel which bore the signature of the
agents and the witness was dumbfounded.
At this point, there were altercations
between counsel to the petitioners and the
first respondents, as the former accused the
latter of interjecting the cross-examination
of the witnesses at the detriment of the 20
minutes permitted to cross-examine the
witness.
The intervention of the judges brought the
altercations under control.
Edosonwan and Ogunleye said the
testimonies of the petitioners’ witnesses
had vindicated the respondents that the
petition had no merit.
They were optimistic that more of such
vindication would unfold in the course of
cross-examining other witnesses.

Hello gurus, my tecno phantom pad N9 is really giving me a lot of headache now wt its battery inconsistencies, I bought it a year ago nd I've been battling ds issue for a few weeks now.
I may charge for more dn 8 hrs yet it won't reach 100℅, in fact d % may just increase by say 5% after hours of charging.
I believe it might be calibration problem so I exhausted d battery to zero level nd then charge but it hardly reach 100% after several hours of charge. Even in occasional situations where it reaches 100%, I might switch it on to see like 10% nd d battery then depletes nd phone goees off within about 30 minutes of use. In fact it even continues depleting while being charged again.
At times I see 0% on switching d tab on after I've charged it when switched off.
Also, at occasional times when it charges to 100% while being charged switched on, d transition time is always very short, imagine reaching 100% from 10% within 10 minutes, however when I unplug, d battery depletes from 100% to zero fast within like 20 minutes, OMG!!
Then, if its switched off nd is charged, it can't be switched on if removed from power source, it requires being connected to power source to switch on.
All this problem actually started after I used power bank for about 3 weeks with it wen I travelled to a town wt poor power supply though I inquired prior nd I was assured dt d phantom-A power bank won't harm my battery, now see me see trouble o.
