Yeah I remembered that guy he didn't know he's course requirement he ask the V.O to repeat himself like 2 to 3 times and was clueless that was the time I sensed trouble
LCHR:
My visa was approved Thursday, 6:30 a.m appointment. I was interviewed at Window5, and the interview lasted between 2-3 minutes. It was so quick that people with short attention span wouldn't notice what transpired between the VO and me. The VO at this Window didn't ask his interviewees the generic questions like that. " What is the program requirements, and tell me about the program", were his next statements after greeting you. I noticed other VOs were asking almost the same questions, so I concluded that they had met to come up with this alien questions. The VO denied the guy he interviewed immediately before me because he didn't know the program requirements and couldnt say any a salient thing about the program. He bothered the VO a bit in his repeated attempts to drive home a point. Struggling to redeem his losing battle, the guy incoherence and inconsistencies ironically grew worse, and frustration was all over him. Worse still he was not concealing his disappointment (actions and interjections were too obvious). May God save us from calamities. After he was overwhelmed, he resorted to begging and delaying tactics of asking to repeat a clear and loud question. The VO beckoned to me to step forward after he ultimately told him to reapply for visa whenever he knows his program well. I tarried for a bosses, waiting for the guy to please himself.

VO: GOOD MORNING (encouraging countenance, he just came back from a battle)
ME: GOOD MORNING,SIR
VO: HOW DID YOU ABOUT THE SCHOOL?
ME: internet, I searched for top 100 universities for my program. Another question cut me short.
VO: WHAT'S THE PROGRAM ALL ABOUT?
ME: I will do course work, research work and there is an international exchange program to either China or Switzerland.
VO: WHO IS YOUR SPONSOR?
ME: My father
VO: WHAT DOES HE DO?
ME: He is a structural engineer, has a construction company where he builds caponies for gas and petrol stations( my fairy tale was interrupted)
VO: TAKE THIS........( I don't know the rest because I was inattentive now)

Gratitude to God? Definitely YES.
Gratitude to Nairalanders? YES. The weak and powerful ones, no veterans, novices, wannabes and scammers.

LagosismyHome:
i think because of Austerity and the current exchange rate , people are staying away from the expensive cities or schools .
Just my hunch but i have not really seen some states in transcript so far .

Someone asked for this State today on the thread .

Today I woke up arnd 3:30 got ready prayed with my famlys God bless dem for me left arnd 4:30 got to the embassy saw some guys saying you need to attach this to your ds160 I said biko leave me please, I've uploaded it already, did the necessary checks and enter as I was on que I witnessed approval and denial I sharply analyze reason for approval and denial, and I set my answers accordingly.

V.O(typing not as fast as I expected tho) why did you chose this school, (I was so happy because I already prepare my solid answer so I asked her to repeat herself, and she did)

Me: I chose NU because they offer experiential and cooperative education program which integrate class room experience into real world (she stopped typing and kept looking at me straight in the eyes) connecting me with professionals and experts in my field of study also I'm interested in the research on going in the university which is centered on security and it's area of investigation includes, database security, cryptography, network security, database administration etc as an IT professional you need to know how to implement high security policy for your any organization you work for, (she nod#) I knew I nailed it here.
V.O: what do you wanna do with this
Me; I'll like to work at top organization in Nigeria or atrnatively exterblishing my own IT consultancy firm where I will help people solve specific business problem using IT.

V.O who's paying for dis

Me: my dad

V.O: what does he do,

Me: he's a civil engineer he has worked for J*** and now he's has he's own construction firm.

V.O pick up your VISA bla bla bla. You'll need this I20 at the POE.

I give God all the glory...

I agree with u. But pertaining to the age, I'm 34 yrs old.. And that bothers me what VO would be thinking I spent 13-14 yrs after O'level doing. I simply think by telling them I've been working in my father's company will help. Since my EKSU result is yet to be out...i cant include this?
Ok.

I agree that its the same process. Community
college doesn't make you look less a student. But our concern is how old is the guy in question.

I know someone who recently got his visa approved and he applied to a community college. Like this guy he had a bsc too in Nigeria. In fact the case is same but the ages will differ.

So bro, as for me, concerning this your case my problem will be your age..
Bro... I'm not the one applying! I'm just giving my opinion because as it is here if you apply to CC and come up to NL for opinion the next thing people comments is it hard to secure a visa for CC get rid of the admit and look for admission to a university and scholarship, it a good idea yeah! but not all Intl stud, are been granted full tuition scholarship, and you won't wanna get there and start to blame yourself at a certain point if you can't afford the tuition. besides we've seen so cases like that here, alternatively cut your coat according to your size work according to your budget, besides a 30yrs old lady was granted visa to a community college in this trnd so far you are a genuine student you'll get your visa in the end it comes down to preparation and your answer, you gave during the 2-5 mins interview, and God favor. No one is perfect , there's some disadvantages with every person, stay positive.

DareFadi:
You can get visa with community college but do u know how hard it is.... u might want to look back and think it through
That not true, getting a visa to a College is not hard it, its the same process as a Uni, truth is that it just rear many applicant chooses university over CC, so far the it accredited you'll be granted a visa..
I was at the educationUSA and I asked the VO that same question, he laughed at me and said where did you hear that from I said NL he just said are they the VO's to decide that, so far you prove you are a genuine student and provided the reason why you chose the school, you will be granted visa. then the Academic advisor added that after you get an associate degree from the CC you can transfer to a university to and get your bsc in 2yrs can you imagine "thousands of dollars you've just saved"? Don't just conclude like that maybe the few people you know that applied didn't get the visa but I know quite number of people who applied to CC and got their visas. undecided undecided
