You're right. QLife currently takes 8-10 days and the doctor I met when I did my medicals said it's an instruction from CIC. I giggled for a few and asked him why didn't they give IOM the same instruction but he had no answer to my question. Lol

Ibitowaoa:
Q-Life Medicals takes time b4 uploading the results to cic but IOM did the next day and I think that’s why it’s quite expensive. Mine was on Tuesday 23

pls can someone explain to me? Applied via paper route 7the june and linked it online . no msg ,no update

First off, I guess you must gave done your biometrics since you applied through paper route.

Secondly, I think your application is basically still at the baby stage and they are currently doing a background check on you - looking you up online via social media platforms, checking if you're affiliated to any terrorist, serial killer, etc

Your eligibility review (this has to do with verification of the documents you submitted during your application, ascertaining the authentication of the documents, checking if you have the stipulated funds needed for your studies and it's also the last stage of your application before a final decision will be made, be it an APPROVAL or DENIAL) is yet to commence which means your application haven't passed the background stage. I guess you didn't do upfront medicals, right??
Hope this helps...Others can throw more light on this.

Cheers!

I wasn't asked any questions or whatsoever just directed to a counter where the lady requested my passport and excused her self came back after a few seconds and handed me my study/work permit. To all trv hopefuls I wish you the very best and I'll still be present here to offer my advises et all to those who need it. Cheers!

Congrats once again, Qudkom. You're a good man.

Thanks for the compliments. As per your question and afore bolded, It's an indication of positive feedback from IRCC, you should be looking forward to receiving another BVL since it's a new application followed by a passport request.

Okay. Thanks bro.

Review of eligibility will begin immediately you receive the BVL notification. When your eligibility review starts it will state - We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility

Good morning, Mr Frankrobbn1 (a selfless man with a good heart). Quick one, my background check and eligibility review are running simultaneously and I never got BVL after reapplication. The eligibility review commenced immediately my upfront medicals updated to pass. Just wondering based on what you said...Should I be looking forward to get another BVL or will the one I got during my first application suffice?

This info is wrong. Before my 1st application in April, I renewed my passport which was meant to expire in August 2020 at Abuja HQs. It's only renewable at Abuja once it's not up 6months to date of expiration.

Hey, don't quote me and say "THE INFO IS WRONG". It really takes total maturity for people not to lose their cool to faceless persons on public forums. Good Lawd! Not sure if Abuja HQs rules and regulations is different from their Ikoyi office in Lagos but what I said was totally based on first-hand info from the Comptroller General himself.

I can also recall vividly that I tried renewing mine in Dec 2018 (with passport date of expiration Jan 2020) before me and my family went on vacation overseas and I was also told by his PA that it would be renewed and I would have gotten after a few hours if it's about 6 months or less to expiration date.

I'm getting ready for church.

Do have a happy Sunday!

Not sure how it works in Canada because I'm not there yet but im talking from experience.

House, the refusal came again 2nd time. First time was personal assets and financial status but now they say it's "purpose of visit"
Yesterday I mentioned a few monikers that got this bvl same time as mine came in, today I can see two out of those monikers coming to say they have been refused this evening just as I got mine this evening too.
All same reason "purpose of visit"
I can almost conclude that it was same VO that dished was in charged. Him just de bomb people email and Cic account with same reasons.
If these people have limits of people they give visa to per a period, they should just say rather than letting us go through stress and keep paying application fee.
Anyway, I will other for the gcms again, defer admission and refire again.
@Franck please my dear, can I have a one on one? Just want to ask one question please.
Thanks.

I'm very sorry about your refusal, bro. I love your upbeat spirit and I believe that the third time would be charm. I guess there's a career progression, right? Try to work on your SOP the very best way you can, give it to 2 or 3 persons for scrutinization (I never did this but it's advisable). Thereafter, use free online tools to check for grammatical errors or punctuation mistakes.
God bless!

why put yourself in this situation knowing your passport is gonna expire soon when you could have easily renewed

Bros, you can only renew your passport when it has at least 6 months to date of expiration. My time of reapplication and initial traveling schedule prompted me to opt for submitting my application with the old passport.
Thanks anyways!

GCMS notes takes an average of 30-40 days. Search on Google and you'll see some websites where you can order your GCMS notes from. I would have drop the website I used to order mine but nairaland doesn't condone the habit of posting external websites on this thread.

Thanks a lot, bro. I'll need to work on getting a new one asap so that I can submit just the new one peradventure PPR comes in this month.

makano:
I will advise you submit the new one if you have it already, as we all know when u renew ur Old passport to a new one, the immigration officer stamps on the Old passport making it not Valid again(INVALID), meaning even if you submit the Old passport ur Visa cant be stamped on it cos its no more valid. But the new one will have the Passport number of the Old one on it. So I will advise you submit the new one, this shouldn't be an Issue at all.. But if you are still not convinced then u can submit both but I still insist submitting just the new one is enough.. Peace
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by hiambenson: 4:24pm On Jul 05, 2019
Many thanks, bro.

raymege:
If you have a new passport ready at the point of PPR, then send in the Old and New Passport.
Most countries wouldn't even affix a visa on a passport that has less than a 6 months validity.
The new passport would have the old passport's number stated in it also. Hence it shouldn't be an issue.

Good day to all the knowledgeable persons who are making out time to share their knowledge with newbies and applicants in quest for Canadian study permit.

I'm very optimistic about my reapplication for Sept 2019 because I tackled the VO's concern but I have a little challenge, fam.

My passport will expire by Jan 2020 and I'm wondering if I should send a new passport alongside my old passport that I used for reapplication once PPR drops because my intent is to travel by Jan 2020??

I'm asking because student visa can't be valid for more than the stipulated expiration date on a passport.

Hope to hear from everyone who have a first-hand knowledge on this.

I reapplied on June 21st with upfront medicals and my medical has just been updated to pass on my CIC account regardless of the fact that I didn't get any email notification from them. Eligibility review and background check are both running concurrently.

God willing, it will end in praise!

Good evening to everyone.

I re-applied on June 21st and I'm wondering if there's any current timeline for upfront medicals to be updated in CIC account...?? I know it's too soon to start worrying but my intent is to secure my TRV before Fall 2019 by God's grace. I contacted Q Life Clinic where I did my medicals and they said the results were sent to the embassy on June 29th. Just wondering!

Hope to hear from anyone who probably have an idea about my question.

Thanks fam!

I guess you missed the question. smiley The school didn't give him or her any option(s) rather his/her admission was revoked due to inability to pay tuition on or before the stipulated deadline that was given.

abusmanlouis:

if the school has given you an option for deferral for the next two intake, you have no fear.

You're totally right. Pardon my shortcomings. smiley I responded based on what I could remember at that point in time and that was why I suggested he/she gets more responses from knowledgeable people in the forum.

TheAfrikan:

Goodevening,

I'll like to correct the bolded, a co-op permit means you'll have a semester or so (depending on the institution or course) where you will need to work as part of your program requirements (a good example is the SIWES program done in Nigeria), it is only applicable during that term and not during your normal school hours (that remains 20hrs per week during school hours and 40hrs during scheduled breaks).

Every other thing seems in other.

Hope this helps?

Thank you.

In addition to what kcosam said, I suggest you also apply to 2-3 schools (if you can) offering programs of your choice just to be on the safe side considering the fact that the school which withdrew your application might not be swift enough to offer you admission the second time before your visa gets approved. smiley

Obehi44:
Hello guys, I will like to get something clear, please what happens if a miss to pay tuition fee and they sent an email that they have withdrawn the admission? Note: visa application is still on.

Please anyone with such experience or an idea of what to do?

I noticed that no one has answered your question and I guess you haven't been an avid reader of this forum. Co-Op doesn't guarantee study visa approval but you'll get to work full time while studying. Imagine working 40hrs/week unlike those without Co-Op who are mandated to work for just 20hrs/week. I think another good reason is that you might be lucky and possibly gain full time employment after graduation depending on how well you play your cards.....Others can throw more light if you aren't satisfied. smiley

chisongozi:

Fo the bolded above, any particular reason. Does it guarantee study visa approval?
