N1.5m is $1k when you use the nominal exchange rate. But the right exchange rate to use is PPP. It is the wide gap between nominal and PPP rates that makes moving abroad financially advantageous to many Nigerians. |

Even the Nigerian customs service whose mandate should primarily be implementation of fiscal policy and secondarily revenue generation has been reduced to merely a money generating agency. They meet the humongous targets given to them by FG by simply forcing businesses to pay outrageous duties, thereby contributing to inflation. 1Alex: FIRS is not supposed to be a revenue generating agency. What item do they produce? Other people will just suffer to make money, FIRS goes there and mops up the money and we hail them for making money and they are paid huge salaries just for going to offices and shops to tell them to pay tax. |

Agriculture › Re: Emotional Moment Elderly Woman Confronts Fulani Herdsmen Destroying Her Farmland by higgs: 4:03pm On Oct 17, 2025 |
Crop farming and livestock farming are both businesses just like trading on spare parts. Only God knows why the Nigerian government does not vigorously prosecute herdsmen for destruction of farms. mariovito: Now, when it comes to Agriculture
Plants and livestock
Owners see them as extensions of themselves
Take it or not, emotions get expended in these ventures.
Crop owner feels attached to his crops even though he'll harvest them later.
Livestock owner feels attached to his livestock even though he'll slit their throat and make barbecue out of them later
It's up to the government to regulate their interactions so that no one offends the other because of personal interest.( By "No one", I mean the ambulatory one)
Outlaw open grazing now!
But it won't happen.
Instead the entity known as Nigeria will burn to the ground first.
In the long run, self help is the way to go! |

That is it.It is quite sad and tragic that at a time innocent Nigerians are being hunted like animals by kidnappers, some people are busy granting pardon to the notorious kidnappers that have been tried and convicted correctyourself: That one with kidnapping history should not be speard, or else he would go back to business as as usual. In fact lets know the person that recommended him in the first place, he may know something about current kidnapping that is happening in Nigeria. |

Politics › Re: How People’s Gazette Broke The Story Of Nnaji Certificate Forgery In June 2024 by higgs: 8:54am On Oct 08, 2025 |
You don't need a degree certificate to become a tech businessman. Some of the most successful tech guys like Bill Gates,Zuckerberg etc didn't graduate from university. Where the minister got it wrong was resorting to forgery instead of stating SSCE as his highest academic qualification ARISHEM: How he used forged certificates to became a tech visionary and successful businessman in the digital world still baffles me. Not until a nod was given for his appointment as minister in the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology that investigation on his purported qualifications started. If he had not been ambitious he will not be scrutinized and will be seen as legit. And those with accredited degrees, professional academic qualifications and advanced credible certifications were working under him and are all saying Yes Sir to him.
Since the government won’t prosecute him he still stands a good chance to become Governor like Ademola Adeleke of Osun state |
