A boat is docked in a tiny Mexican fishing village. A tourist complimented the local fishermen on the quality of their fish and asked how long it took to catch them. “Not very long.” they answered in unison. “Why didn’t you stay out longer and catch more?” The fishermen explained that their small catches were sufficient to meet their needs and those of their families. “But what do you do with the rest of your time?” “We sleep late, fish a little, play with our children, and take siestas with our wives. In the evenings, we go into the village to see our friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. We have a full life.” The tourist interrupted, “I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.” “And after that?” “With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City , Los Angeles , or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise.” “How long would that take?” “Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years.” replied the tourist. “And after that?” “Afterwards? Well my friend, that’s when it gets really interesting,” answered the tourist, laughing. “When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!” “Millions? Really? And after that?” asked the fishermen. “After that you’ll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends.” “With all due respect sir, but that’s exactly what we are doing now. So what’s the point wasting twenty-five years?” asked the Mexicans. And the moral of this story is: Know where you’re going in life, you may already be there! Many times in life, money is not everything. http://www.sobolation.com/ |
“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” – Abraham Lincoln A young man approached the foreman of a logging crew and asked for a job. “That depends,” replied the foreman. “Let’s see you fell this tree.” The young man stepped forward and skillfully felled a great tree. Impressed, the foreman exclaimed, “You can start Monday.” Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday rolled by. Thursday afternoon the foreman approached the young man and said, “You can pick up your paycheck on the way out today.” Startled, the young man replied, “I thought you paid on Friday.” “Normally we do,” said the foreman. “But we’re letting you go today because you’ve fallen behind. Our daily felling charts show that you’ve dropped from first place on Monday to last place today.” “But I’m a hard worker,” the young man objected. “I arrive first, leave last and even have worked through my coffee breaks!” The foreman, sensing the young man’s integrity, thought for a minute and then asked, “Have you been sharpening your axe?” The young man replied, “No sir, I’ve been working too hard to take time for that!” Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we don’t take time to “sharpen the axe” In today’s world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever but less happy than ever. Why is that? Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay sharp? There’s nothing wrong with activity and hard work. But God doesn’t want us to get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like taking time to pray, to read and study scripture or to listen to “the still small voice of God.” We all need time to relax, to think and meditate, to learn and grow. If we don’t take time to sharpen the axe, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness. Take time today to sharpen your axe! A man is walking on a black road, wearing all black: A black cloak, hat, mask, shoes, gloves and pants. All the street lights are switched off and there is no moon in the sky. A black car with its headlights switched off approaches at a high speed and slams on the brakes to avoid hitting the man in the street. How did the driver of the black car know of the man in the street? https://www.facebook.com/Sobolation |

A Twitter account with handle @segunobasanjo has been suspended by Twitter. This follows a series of tweets to support General Buhari for the forthcoming Presidential elections in Nigeria. sobolation.com cannot ascertain at this moment the reason for the suspension, but some of our sources suggest it might be as a result of impersonation carried out by the account operator; as the account was not verified to be owned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The account is probably a fake account from all indications. Earlier today, some pro-Buhari tweets were posted: “10 days to the 2015 Presidential Elections and I have finally decided to vote Gen. Buhari of the APC! #CHANGE” “Why didn’t GEJ postpone his foster daughter’s wedding days after the BAGA killing but calls for the postponement of Feb 14 Gen election?” “If GEJ could not postpone the declaration of his 2nd term ambition a day after 48 pupils were killed in Yobe, so why postpone the election?” The account @segunobasanjo (twitter.com/segunobasanjo) is currently suspended. “Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.” – Obasanjo Former Nigeria President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has predicted that the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari will be the next Nigerian President which why those who are afraid of him are creating so many obstacles on his way, Saying “a general is always a general. Obasanjo, who was reacting to the controversies generated over the school certificate of General Buhari said: “I see Buhari as the next President and Jonathan is aware of that, and that is the reason they are hitting him everywhere to put confusion in his camp. But a General is always a General… “ The former President said the truth of the matter is that Jonathan is aware that Buhari is qualified to contest for President election but that “some hawks with Jonathan do not want him to contest because they believed that he will win and come for them. “The issue (of Buhari’s certificate) came up in 2007, and we investigated and found out that his WASC is with the military and that was why he was allowed to contest in 2007. Buhari cannot listen to anyone about his certificates because as a General of Nigeria Army, he will speak when he chooses, not by Femi Fani Kayode and Okupe asking him. Fayose and other corrupt people including Kashamu do not want Buhari because of his anti-corruption slogan. “Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.” http://www.sobolation.com/jonathan-didnt-complete-his-phd-we-covered-him-obasanjo/ |
Guys, pls let's start buying Beats by Dre by D'Banj. Being broke is relative though. And like MI said...him self be human being. |
Earlier this week, Ayo Fayose sponsored a controversial advert in Nigerian Newspapers, notably front-page of Punch (check it here if you missed it). The advert generated a lot of buzz in the media, PDP was quick to disown the advert while Fayose maintained that he has no apology for the advert. Well, seems the advert fund is not exhausted. The Governor today sponsored another ad-set, taking a shot at General Muhammadu Buhari. In the advert as seen on page 9. of the Punch; he emphasized that Buhari is too old to be President at 72. Buhari is too old to be President at 72 Even APS Governor Raji Fashola admits the need for youthfulness in governance. Fashola has said, "When I took this job at the age of 44, I was counting the number of white hair on my head. Today at 52, I am counting the number of black hair on my head. "You see, this job is a tough job, you need youthfulness to do this job" Source: http://www.sobolation.com/fayose-vs-buhari-round-2-start-ekiti-state-governor-took-another-shot-at-muhammadu-buhari/
